A short dialogue excerpt from a YouTube video titled "How would you respond?..." showing two speakers in a mock sales exercise: Speaker A attempts to sell a pen with terse, generic claims ("It's a amazing pen for professionals...") while Speaker B repeats the prompting line "Sell me this pen." The clip illustrates how tone and phrasing in a sales pitch can be minimal and unengaging.
Sell me this pen. It's. It's a amazing pen for professionals to Sell me this pen. It's a nice pen. You can use the pen to write down bots from your life so you can remember.
Sell me this pen.
Well, this pen works.
I love this movie. One thing you can really learn from what Leo did there is the power of his tone. You're gonna notice it shifted three different times, which triggered more emotion. It's like a pattern erupt, causes the audience to, like, lay everything down. Like, oh, crap. Engage with what he's saying. Notice the first person he came up to and he said, sell me this pen. Then the next person after that guy waffled, he goes, sell me this pen. See, he raised his tone. And then the last person, he comes, sell me this pen. Those are examples of how to use your tone to trigger emotion. By raising your tone at different points of the conversation, it also triggers your prospects to raise their emotion. So a really good lesson you can learn from this example here is the power of your tone.
