A short monologue (YouTube transcript) arguing that salespeople are undervalued despite being essential to the economy. The speaker contrasts the automatic trust and high status afforded to doctors (degrees on the wall) with the lack of similar status markers for salespeople and states an intent to change that perception.

How are salespeople typically viewed? Higher status or lower status? Lower status. But why you think that they might be higher status? Because if you don't have salespeople, nothing sold, there's no economy. You don't have an economy. There's no such thing as society. So, like, if you go to a doctor's office tomorrow, they might ask you two questions. Do your thing here with the heart scope or whatever they do. And like, okay, yeah, I think you've got some issues here. Put this gown on and come get this exam. Do you tell the doctor, like, I don't know, I think I need to talk to my spouse about this. You know, I need to think it over a little bit more. You just say what? Like, okay, you just trust them. You already view them higher status before you walk into the building because they have something on the wall called a degree. So why don't salespeople have that? So that's what we're changing.
