A brief sales role-play transcript where Jeremy coaches or demonstrates sales questioning by asking a prospect (Speaker B) about their pen-use and preferences. Jeremy uses consultative questions to surface use cases (signing contracts), current pen type (ballpoint), and the prospect’s desire to appear professional; the dialogue highlights positioning a higher-quality pen as a credibility and differentiation tool.
Jeremy, sell me this pen.
Goodness gracious. I'm not sure you quite sure you'd even need a pen like this. What would you, what do you actually use the pen for?
I use pens on a like daily basis in the business agreements, contracts, things like that.
All right, smart man. And then what type of pen do you use now to like, you know, when you're in front of a prospect or like maybe a client, you're signing something. What are you, what type of pen are you using now?
Ballpoint sort of pens.
Okay. Yeah, the ballpoint. I mean, it's a fairly decent pen actually. I mean, what's causing you to feel like you might want to look at something different?
I just want to be perceived as professional by representing myself in the right way.
It's a big reason why people come to us for sure. So in your mind, how do you see that giving you that status? Like when the prospect is with you in your office, what do you feel like is going on in their mind and how they view you when you're using this type of pen?
I think it's just the way that it looks.
It's cause you to feel that way though, because it's got some pink ivory on there.
Well, it stands out. Right. So we're gonna build some credibility that sure, you know, we know what we're doing.
Yeah.
And how do you see that separ.
You from like your competitors that maybe are using like the cheap basic pens?
I think it's like, you know, how you do one thing is how you do everything, smart man.
