Tom Ferry argues that what feels like a time management problem is usually a prioritization problem. He challenges you to identify your top 2-3 priorities for the month, display them visibly, and focus on those while letting everything else fade.

When I ask people, what is it you most need to change in order to get the kind of results that you want, they all say the same thing. I've just got a time management problem. I've got so many things coming at me, I've got so many responsibilities, so many things I need to do, and I stop them and say, you don't have a time management problem, you have a prioritization issue. There's a big difference. Time is. I'm trying to manage all these processes, all these things. Prioritization is what is the most important thing for me today. If there was only one thing I could do all day long that would produce the highest possible result, what would I do? What are your priorities? You really can't manage time. You can, though, focus and do the things that matter most. So as we sit on this Monday and we start the month of June, what are your top two or three priorities, not just for today, but for the month? And I challenge you to put them up visually on your wall. Make that the thing that you concentrate on for the entire month and watch what happens. Yes, we. All those other things that felt urgent in the moment become less urgent. Focus on the thing that matters most, whether it's your time, your family, your social life, your finances, helping clients, whatever it may be. Focus on that and watch what happens.
