A short transcript excerpt describing a Tony Robbins technique where he uses an unexpected, humorous remark (“is it because you’re red shoes?”) to interrupt a man’s suicidal thought pattern, shift his emotional state from despair to playfulness, and ultimately change his belief about life. The speaker frames this as an example of ‘pattern interrupt’ and ‘de-framing’ to enable belief change.

I am not your guru of Tony Robbins. Remember that clip where the. The guy stands up, he's like, I. I think I might commit suicide. Kind of nervous. And he's talking with Tony, and he's, like, shaking, right? What was the first saying that Tony did? Do you remember? He's like, is it because you're red shoes? Excuse my language. My mom's gonna wash my mouth with soap. Why do you think he did that? He's interrupting his pattern. That human being was in a state of like, I can't do this. My life is not worthy. I'm gonna kill myself. So what he's doing is he's interrupting his pattern, and now he's gonna deframe him out of that belief system and start to a new belief system of why the hell would you ever want to kill yourself? Because if he didn't do that, it would be harder to deframe him out of that belief system. That's why he used that. It was because your red shoes. And the guy looked down, and then he started laughing, and his whole state started changing, and then he became open, and he was playful. And by the end of it, it was almost like he had a completely different belief system about his life. That's a pattern erupt.
