Two former college athletes remember donating plasma for $20 to $30 a week. One did it with his baseball teammates and fainted after multiple needle sticks; the other skipped it, figuring the money wasn't worth the hassle.

Just love needles. I remember my freshman year in college, I was so broke, had no money, and a bunch of us on the baseball team, we would get plasma like, literally like once a week. And I remember probably the second or third time I did it, she just kept missing the vein over and over, like three or four times. And I just woke up and I'm like, what's going on? And they're like patting my head down. They're like, you passed out. Are you okay? I literally passed out from giving plasma for 20 or 30 bucks. This is like 20 some years ago. I never did it again after that. I'm like, oh, needles.
I never did it either there. I just didn't feel like it was worth the time.
Yeah, you got to do what you got to do when you're freshman in college, I guess.
