A salesperson who seems desperate loses credibility. When you chase prospects too hard, they see you as low-status and tune out. Project confidence and abundance instead, like you have plenty of other clients and don't need this deal.

If you went up to a girl somewhere that was really, really attractive and you were really excited and you were attached to her and started texting her all the time, what would she do? Probably ignore you because you're too attached. You must not be high status. It would trigger like you're low status because you're needy. So salespeople are the same way. If you come across needy, you lower your status in the prospect's brain. And I don't mean you come across being a jerk, but you come across as like an expert. You got tons of clients. You don't necessarily need them. You're not the one that has the problems. You can solve them. You don't have to though.
