Chapters
That's the only way to be.
Only really is.
That's it. That's it. Well, we got four of the gentlemen here. We got Calvin, we got Trent, we got Matt, we got Paul, and it's a pretty easy session today. Today we're just sharing top takeaways and anything else that you want to talk about. Any other questions you have before a lot of us. I know Trent, Calvin, and I know Paul will be there for the. Are you coming, Matt? Yeah. You're coming, too. So all you guys are coming to the Kings meet up in October. So I'll hang out a bunch and hike and eat a bunch of steak and chat and. Got a few cool activities planned and just. Just hang out. Be prepared to bring a lot of workout clothes. Bring whatever that looks like to you. We're gonna have a workout or two, so if you sweat a bunch, you want some towels, you need extra clothing. Paul, you won't have to bring as much stuff as you brought for the brat.
Might bring more, bro.
I don't think it'll be that tumultuous.
Maybe. Maybe some plush towels, dude.
I love a good plush towel, Matt. I don't know how you know that about me. The softer towel is the happier I am. Seriously. Where.
Where is it, Jeremy?
Where are we gonna be? We're gonna be all over the place, but we're gonna be. The KOA Is where everyone's going. KOA In North Nashville, next to Granny Water.
Okay, cool. Yep.
Yep. But, I mean, you don't have to stay there. You're welcome to stay in your house.
Yeah, I was probably gonna come and go.
Let's be a hourish drive for you.
Yeah, that's no problem.
For.
For those of us that want to stay at the KOA Are we just, like, gonna camp in, like, tents or what's the situation?
Up to you, man.
You can get whatever on the ground. No sleeping bag, dude. That's what.
That's what me and Paul did great for the first night. I was like, nope, can't do that. I was like, I need a bed. Paul just slept on rocks. Was like, give me a rock. And just, like, slept down, like, had a rock as a pillow. Freaking wild. Yeah, Cal, honestly, dude. Yeah. Get. You get a cabin, you get a tent. If you have an rv, if you have whatever. Like, you know, and what. Because it's not a big site, so we're easily going to be able to meet in a central location. But feel free to stay wherever you're jazzed up about. Okay. Yeah, man.
Yep.
Yep. Yep. So, Calvin, since you're here, dude, what's your top takeaway of the whole program.
Man?
Going strong since early August.
Top takeaway. I think, you know, taking that break from drinking was really, like, not only needed, but it kind of, like, reset things in my brain to where now. Like. Like, after our last meeting, I had a. I had a drink the other night, and I was just like, I don't even like this anymore. It was so crazy, like, how it just shifts your. I don't know. I. I used to be the guy that was like, I need to drink, like, two or three drinks every night or, like, I'm gonna, like, have a hard time. Like, I. It was so. I was so addicted, and I didn't know it, and now I'm like, ugh. Like, no, I just. I don't even like the taste. It's so weird, like, just in seven weeks, how my brain shifted like that. And honestly, I've seen such a difference in clarity with, like, my trading. Like, I've kind of been on fire the last two weeks. I'm not gonna lie. Like, yeah, dude, I come into the market, I'm not. I'm not afraid. Like, usually, like, I would come to the market. I'm like, oh, God, am I gonna lose money today? You know, like, I just get in. I'm like, let's find some setups. Like, you know, if I lose, I'll flip. You know, if I need to take a few trades and, like, come out just, like, point 4R cool. Like, it's so much less stressful, and I don't know, it's just really, like, I'm starting to realize, like, that was one of the major, like, anchors that was, like, tied to my foot, that, like, I was, like, trying to swim in water with, like, a huge weight on my foot.
So.
That was a huge one. Another takeaway has just been, like, just having the community of guys, you know? I mean, I know we talked about a lot of different things, but just having, like, the boys, like, every. It just made me feel, like, a lot more, like, secure and, like, I had a. Just a group to, like, fall back on, you know?
Yeah.
And I'd say my last one has just been, like. It kind of opened my eyes in a lot of ways. I mean, every week we talked about things that would, like, kind of pertain not only to ourselves, but, like, how it would help our relationships. And I feel like I've become, like, a way better partner to Desiree, you know?
I.
That's a. That's a never ending thing. Like, you have to keep working at that. It's a work in progress. But I've definitely, like, stepped up around the house and just, like, the way I treat her and just, like, kind of just like my mental fortitude and my strength, like, I'm able to be a better man for her. So those are, like, my top three men.
So how do you. How do you feel? Like that relationship has shifted with you and Ezra. Do you have any insights?
Well, I know because she's said it. Like, she's been like, you seem a lot better. And because before the group, I had a lot of, like, anxiety and just kind of like, little boy mentality here and there, you know? And, like, I'm just way more motivated now. And, like, I just do more things around the house. I, like, I don't complain. Like, last night I picked her up at the airport, like, midnight. Didn't complain at all. Just like, they're happy. Like, strong, like, big smile on my face, you know, Just like. And those things go so far with the. With the girls, you know, because they're like, oh, damn. Like, he's not here being a little bitchy, complaining, like, you know, he's just here, like, to support me. So.
Well, it's kind of like. Imagine, though, you're picking me up at the airport. How would you feel?
Well, I'd always feel happy about that.
But it's the same. But it's right? Like, yeah, for sure it is. Because, like, you know, if it's your guy, you're like, oh, hell yeah, dude. I gotta see my boy. But it's the same. But also your mind's like, I'm not gonna be with Newsom forever. I was like, this is the four days. It's like, it's gonna be great, right? Yeah, but we all know, and I'm glad that you had that awareness to sink into that moment for a second and just be aware. Like, wait a minute. I've shifted my internal energies a bit to make that cause happen. Currently.
Yeah.
No, that's huge.
And. And it's. There's damage that had to be undone. Like, there's a lot of times where I was like, hey, I'm gonna go do this for you. And she's like, no, you're not. I'm like, what do you mean? She's like, no, because you're gonna, like, get all stressed out and worked up.
Blah, blah.
I'm like, no, I won't. Like, let me. Let me, like, make it up to you. Let me Prove myself. She's like, no, no, no. I'm like. I'm like, God damn it. Like, I'm different now. Like, let me do it. And then I would go do it, and, like, I would show her, like, I'm calm and collected and just, like, being a king. And she's like, holy. Okay, cool.
You know, so that's awesome, man. I'm happy for you.
Yeah.
That's amazing. So happy for you.
Well, I just want to say thank you, man, for having me in the group, because it really has been.
Of course.
Like I said, it hasn't solved all my problems, but it's shown me the path to what I want to be, and I know how to do it now, and I have the tools. And I'm like, okay, let's just stay on this path now.
Dude, if I could solve all your problems, that'd be the coolest thing ever.
Yeah, that's cool.
Take this class, and I will solve all of your problems. That's good marketing.
Yeah.
But no, man, I'm totally with you. And I'm. I'm super proud of them. The S B Capital route, right? Take. I think I feel like you're taking a big shift into that. That professional world of what is that you're seeking?
Yeah, man. Applying to a lot of different places. I don't know what'll happen with SMB. Like, they. I've gotten a couple different emails from them. Like, mixed signals. Like, one of the head guys was kind of like, this isn't good enough. But then, like, another guy, another person was like, hey, you'll probably get an interview in two weeks. So I. I don't know. I'm just. But, like, I'm applying to so many different places, and I'm just really excited about my trading right now. And, yeah, man, I'm just. I'm in a good place right now. Just, like, mentally just feeling like, okay, like, it's all gonna work out. It's all gonna be good.
Beautiful. Well, just keep. Keep it strong, my man. Keep it strong.
Heck, yeah.
Anytime you feel the weirdness, right? Like, you can always go, like, hey, I'm feeling a little off. Pop into a quick little meditation, right? I mean, it can be that simple. You know, throw. Throw a message in the chat.
It's.
It's a. It's a shift, right? It's never perfection. It's just trending.
The shift is, like, for me, is, like, okay. When I feel like that, instead of, like, grabbing a beer and late sitting on the couch, it's like, Grab a kombucha and go on a walk.
You.
Know, and like, that's like 1 million times better for me.
Yeah.
You know, like, you might think, like, oh, the drink. But it's like, no, dude, no. Like, you just take that drink and there's another one, and then tomorrow you're all weird and you feel lazy and blood and you trade. Like, it's like a chain reaction. So.
Dude, you're nailing it, man. You were nailing it. What about you, Trent? Top takeaway from the course, man. Two whole months.
Yeah, it's pretty wild. Calvin, I really agree with, like, everything you just said. That was really well said. Definitely the drinking. I was kind of in a really similar spot. You know, it was all kinds of social settings and, you know, designated social settings to drink. And, you know, even with football starting and all this other stuff, like, I felt strong and, like, there's been a lot of times where, like, a lot of. A lot of alcohol would have been consumed and it just hadn't. And I feel better and I'm kind of just like Calvin said, just to the point where I don't even really miss it. And I'm not, like, seeking it out at all, which is something that's. I mean, you. You'd asked me the first class, like, what do you think the hardest thing is going to be? It was definitely alcohol. And now it's just like an afterthought, which. It's really awesome.
Dude.
It's wild. It's really wild. I was even talking to my dad about it. Like, my dad doesn't really drink. Neither of my parents really drink. And they've always been on me, like. Like, it's not as cool as you think.
And I finally.
He basically is like, well, damn. I feel like I've said that for a few hundred years or whatever, and. But yeah, so that's definitely a big takeaway. Like, I. I kind of wanted to see how far I can go. Like, I don't, like, have much of a. Much of a. Yeah, I just. It's not really something that entices me the way it used to, which is really crazy. From two months ago.
That's so cool, man. That's brilliant.
Yeah.
And then just like some other stuff. More of the letting go, I think that's been. It's just been a recurring theme since the walk in particular, but just a lot of this stuff that I get so caught up in. Like, I get in my head so bad about just stupid stuff that, like, should not consume me the way it does. And like, I catch myself doing that and I'm just conscious of it now and like, just having some new like, ways of dealing with that and being in those feelings versus, like what Calvin said too. Just like running for some alcohol or the smoke or whatever just to like get a release or get out of that headspace. Like, it's been, it's been really cool. Just actually it's been really freaking hard to just sit with these feelings sometimes. But now I'm like, I'm kind of getting to the point now. Like, this whole thing was kind of like, it was really, really awesome. Then I had like a really like, not great couple weeks and now I'm kind of just like kind of leveling out. And it's, that's a good, it's a good feeling, man. Like, like the, the new tools and just the new ways of approaching things and steering clear of vices that are just vices and like, like Calvin said, anchors and all that type of stuff, it's, it's a real thing, man. So I'm, I'm pumped about where I'm at too. And also just letting go of some of the fears and the doubts and like the self annihilation stuff that I've mentioned. Like, like I'm, I'm in a really good spot to do great things and it's, it's like just time to do it.
So.
Yeah, I love that perspective, man. Yeah, it's also a great shift. That's, that's a big accomplishment. I mean. Yeah, yeah, the accomplishment is like, wait a minute, I now have the tools to go, this is a vice. Whatever. It's there. I'm aware of it. I'm not an idiot. I get to choose. I get to choose. I want to be in it. Or do I not want to be in it? Because what I'm excited about is seeing each and every one of you make those choices consciously. Because let's just say six months ago, if we ever make a choice, it's a lot of times it's just habitual. It's a habit. It's like I've been doing it, everyone's been doing it, it's just nothing. But now you, you get to know that there's a higher version, there's a better version, there's a greater version of yourself that gets to go. Just don't do that right now. It is not. Just choose something else. Choose greatness. Kind of like Calvin said, like, just go on a walk rather than sit on the couch. Like, if, dude, if you're gonna drink beer, Calvin? True story, bro. I have had at least 15 times with me and my wife. Like we want to get a little bit of a drink in our relationship and we'll make some drinks, but we'll go outside, we'll walk around. So we'll walk and talk and drink. It's like, yeah, it's like a dumb, like shouldn't be a massive change, but it is, right? Rather than just sitting down, just drinking on the couch, dude.
And I become so like, like I've found so many non alcoholic beers that I love that like give me the exact same feeling if I grab it and go on a walk. I'm like, this is dope. And I'm like not getting up, you know?
That's so cool, man. You guys are the best. I love it. I'm so pumped for you. So pumps. All right. Matt, hit me with yours, my guy.
Yeah, well, back in July, you know, you and I were talking, Jeremy, and one thing that you asked me is in text is tell me what's next for you. And I couldn't answer it at that, at that moment. And I mean I'm, I still can't answer it, but I'm a lot closer and I, I just, things have shifted in my brain like significantly and I mean the drinking definitely has helped significantly. It's been something that I've wanted to kind of stop doing. I've done it in the past, but it seemed different this time. It seemed like I was letting dose of like the past, like my past self. And it just really is allowing me to look at things differently. You know where that old age quote of like to do different you got to be different. And I think, I think, I think I'm getting there. I'm, I'm. I mean it's definitely a journey but these, these, these weeks with, with everybody has been so profound. I mean every single week it just seems like something new is coming into my head and I'm thinking about like, how can I lean into it more? And you know, like I, yeah, I was, I was walking my dog before, before we, we, we, we started this but now it's like I can't, I can't wait to get out and if, if I, if I'm not walking, I'm like thinking about walking and I, I still, I, I still wanna, I haven't done that 12 hour walk yet. But that is definitely on my radar in, in the month October. So. But I mean, I mean definitely, you know, things are in terms of like tangible or specific things that have occurred is. I just feel like my headspace is different, like in terms of the reality inside my head has shifted. I. I don't know how to really explain it more than that. It's like, I just know I want more of this and whatever I can do to continue to push in this direction of like, it's. I guess it's a money. A monumental shift for me. Like, like the first of 2023, I was, I felt like I was just kind of coasting and it was, I think just getting into the class and being with the guys and everything that really kind of took me to the next level, so. And yeah, yeah, yeah.
So taking my boy to the next level. That's what I'm talking about, dog. Yeah.
Yeah.
Heck yeah. That's awesome. Big deal, man. Again, like, clarity, clarity, insight, motivation. Sometimes just people, we just need. We just need reshifting, right? We need refocusing. We need to go this, this is more important to go this direction than whatever direction you thought you wanted to go. Right? This is the one that's more valuable. This is the one that will give you more money, more happiness, more purpose, more movement. Awesome, man.
Yeah.
I'm glad you're getting closer to the what's next. So that also makes me happy. Beautiful. All right, Paul.
Yeah. So I'll echo a few things that Calvin said. The first being the thank you for including me in this because it was a great, great experience and I'm looking forward to the retreat in October. Um, I think the biggest couple key takeaways for me, the first is I keep going back to the first session of here's what these different energies look like, you know, and it's one of those things where like, all right, you, you kind of know that in your head, but like, it just smacks you in the face when you're like, okay, like, this is what I've been doing and this is where I can be great. Or maybe this is where I'm already great. But like, this is where you're being a total idiot and self destructive.
You're.
You're completely going counter to what, you know, the human you want to be in the places you want to go. So I've watched that first session like three times now just to keep reminding myself of, like, all right, this is what being a boy looks like. You know, this is how you can, can level up and it's going to take. It's not going to happen overnight. It's going to take time, but it's kind of given me like the, the patience or have patience myself. Of like, all right, you're not, you're stuck in some habits right now. You're stuck in some patterns. You're not going to break this tomorrow, but you can break it a little bit tomorrow and a little bit the next day and a little bit the day after that and eventually you'll get to where you want to go. So that's, that was probably the first one. I think the second one is just throughout the, you know, throughout the group discussions that we've had and just ranging over the different topics, like, I've, I've realized like, how much in my own life I've been trying to force things. Like I want to be a successful entrepreneur. I want to be financially free. You know, I want to do all these things and I'm just like, you know, ram my head against the wall and you know, in, in many ways haven't been, you know, the most fun person to be around and have projected a lot of my own onto, onto others around me. And I, I realized like, hey, you know what, like, the goal of life is not to start a business and make money. Like the goal of life is to enjoy and impact others. Now you starting a business and making money is going to help you achieve that goal. But like, you should like keep the number one priority, the number one priority and give yourself patience and understand that if you keep doing the right things, the business and the financial success, that stuff will follow. But, you know, that's not necessarily what you should lead with. So that's been a good, a good takeaway. And then last is same thing Calvin said. Just having a group of guys that are like minded and knowing that, hey, there's other people going through the same things that I'm experiencing so I don't have to feel like an alien because none of my friends are trying to do anything like what we're doing here. Right? So it's nice to, to know you got a group that, you know, you can lean on and, and we'll support you.
Amen, man. 100 yeah, I think that's the support's a big one, right? Especially for guys because a lot of times we're always like out there to do everything our, ourselves, like by ourselves. We just like, we just want to put our face down and just go to work and not worry about how we treat ourselves or how other people treat us or how we're viewed or what we're all the things. I think that's a big piece of just Being all right to share the load, you know?
Yeah.
You want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go big, go together. Like, there's so much you can accomplish with other people in a group setting, especially with amazing group, amazing men. That's what the military is, right? There's a bunch of people doing a great purpose, doing great direction. I love it. Well, last. Last thing I'll share with you, team. For those who are here watching or listening, think on what this means to you. Like, think on. Think about what failure looks like going forward, because I would love for all of you who are here to fail so miserably at something so disastrously that people will reach out to you and want to write a book about it. Do you just do something so you try something so huge and just don't accomplish it? A big, big victory. Because when I was doing my race on Sunday, that popped up where that the fear of and the realization that I think most people's biggest fear is just them trying to do something, and then at the end of it, they don't do it. They fall flat on their face. And then someone says, I told you.
So.
But that's it.
Like that. I told you once it's over, that's the pain that you're trying to avoid. Is that those four words, three words, two seconds, Right? Like I told you so. I told you weren't good enough. All right, well, now that's over. What next? Right, like that. That's really it. That's a lot of times what us as men, what we. What we forget is it's like that. I try to do something. I'll post this video. I'll write this book. I will create this business. I will offer this product. I will apply for this job. I will ask this girl out. I will do something that I'm been scared of for a long time, and it doesn't work. And literally, I fall flat on my face, and I just suck. What will happen usually after that is like, hey, I. I either told you so or, hey, good job. At least you tried, right? Like, Trent and Paul wouldn't have viewed me any less of a man or a person if I didn't finish the Iron Man. They're like, hey, good try. You know, I5 well, at least you try, dude. That's the other part. So it's like it's either an I told you so or, hey, great try. And those are the two things that people are afraid of. That was the realization that hit me Sunday was like, that's what that's what's happening is most people are just not doing something because of those two conversations. With people, with a friend, with a dad, with a. With yourself, with who, like someone, they're gonna get mad and upset with you and they're gonna go, all right, well, what next? So I lost. So I didn't finish. So it's all good. I'll just either go do it again and try to do it better or go do something else interesting, right? Like the first 100 mile race that I ever attempted, I did not finish in Calvin. What a cool story that is, right? It's like, it's the story that me and Calvin get to have for the rest of our lives. It's just a cool story. But it's. But I learned so much from that. I learned all about endurance and hydration and food intake, and I built a company from it, from that mistake, from that failure on my part. And it's just this really, really cool reminder, but after I did it, not a single person on earth team. That was like one of my biggest fears before going into that race. One of the only reasons I never signed up for 100 mile race before was because I was afraid of not finishing. And people going, told you couldn't finish, dude, I told you not strong enough. Well, guess what happened? No one said that. Not a single person. Everybody was like, hey, man, good try. You got 83 miles. Like, that's pretty good. 83 miles out of 100. You know, hey, you're close enough. That's a B. It's a B minus almost.
It's not close enough. 83 miles, right?
Yeah.
You know, it's like.
And then that was it. Like, all the fears that I had, everyone's like, yeah, cool, whatever. And then, you know, we joked about it and we moved on, and then no one ever brought up ever again. That's what most of our fears are that we're gonna get. Someone's gonna hang it over our head and then we're just. It's just not gonna work and blah, blah, blah, so on and so forth. So say all that to say really sit down with yourself for the next few days and just think through and we'll talk about this, hopefully to get together in person. But what is that thing that you could just do bigger at that you could really, really try to do something so. So weird and unique and scary and different that maybe you fail disastrously, but your disastrous failure is probably going to be so minuscule in the grand scheme of things. And the worst that you'll probably get is the I told you so. That's the worst case scenario. And if you're around a good, good enough people, you probably won't even get that. You probably just get the hey, good try and that's it. That's all right, Paul.
Bro, if that ain't the truth, I've avoided so much because I'm afraid of failing.
Yeah, me too. We all have. But like, that's it. Like we're. But, but what's that failure, right? Like we, we try something and it doesn't work, and then what do we have to do? We have to tell someone like, hey, didn't work. And then, but here's the funny part, Paul, we've already done that before. Yeah, we've already, we've already gone through the hey, it didn't work out. And then someone was like, well, hey, you know what? Shoulder shrug. And then we move on.
Yeah. Yeah. One of the, one of the things I, I noticed is like, like what you're saying, Jeremy, is like you're, you're in your head, you're thinking like, like somebody's going to say, oh, I told you so. You weren't going to finish. But in reality, that, that's just in your own head and, and everybody around you. I mean, truthfully, if you have people that, that love you and support you, they're not, they're. They're going to think, oh my God, he did 83 miles. Next time he's going to do 183, right? Yeah. It's like you're, you got to get out of your head. Really. You gotta think like, it's, it's not as bad as you think. Like, it's okay.
Nailed it, brother. Nailed it. Spot on. Because it is like we, we envision that we're gonna lose everyone's love and admiration and acceptance and we get kicked out of the, we get kicked out of the cave, right? No one ever talks to us ever again. That's it. We're gone, done for. And then it never happens. And we have avoided all that. All the things just because about. Of those couple words. You guys are the best. What a great group of men. I'm excited to see you all soon. If you need anything between now and then, I'm not going anywhere. I'm on the WhatsApp. I'll still be posting videos from time to time. And. And then after we all meet, I think I'll probably merge the people two groups into one. From the, from the people that were there live and Then we'll keep adding to that group over time. But just know that you're around greatness, gentlemen. And if you want to change everything in your life, continue to change those words. Continue to use those affirmations. Trent. They work, I promise. Couldn't tell anyone More valuable advice than scream out loud affirmations as often as you can because your brain doesn't know what to do. Your brain will eventually just have to believe it because it believes everything else that you tell it. You're not strong enough, you're not fast enough, you're not rich enough, you're not tall enough, your dick's too small. All the things that you. That your brain tells you all the time, it believes that. So if you start screaming into existence out loud every day, more powerful versions of the truth, that's what's going to come true. Because your brain will create everything that you see. And your words will create the world that you live in. Love, Jillian. Thanks for being in my life. If you need anything else to be now and then, just let me know. I'm here for you and Trent.
