Feb 22nd, 2024 Ultra Wealth!! Short Squeezes

A mentorship-class transcript (Feb 22, 2024) led by Jerremy Newsome discussing how to identify and trade short squeezes and earnings gaps. Jerremy explains FinViz short-float readings and a short-squeeze scan (criteria: short float ~10%, ATR>1, price>3, optionable/shortable, avg vol>500k), demonstrates with example tickers (NTRA, AAOI, Applied Optoelectronics, Rivian, Carvana, Nvidia, etc.), and reviews students' open positions (Tesla, Robinhood, MongoDB, Zillow, ARM, SoundHound). He emphasizes creating 'if–then' plans around gaps, managing collars/covered calls around earnings, and homework to post short-squeeze setups.

Yeah, keep, keep that question close and don't let me leave without answering it.
Okay? Thank you.
Yes, sir. Sir. Yes, sir. Okay. Beautiful, beautiful. Joe's smiling over there because she's murdering it. Yeah, yeah, that's just what she does. She just wins.
You got lucky.
Good to be Joe this time. Brian Jones got lucky, too. Good job, big guy.
Thank you. Thank you. Yes. AMD was very good to me this morning.
Yeah, that's awesome. Okay. All right, we got the recording on. We are locked and loaded. Super tiny, itty bitty reminder. Monday, we're on. Everything is beautiful. No changes there. Next Thursday, I'll be flying back from, from the British Virgin Islands. I'm going to be at the abundance summit, So I will not be able to be here on Thursday, but we will have our session on Friday, March 1, at 2 to 3pm Same exact time, 24 hours later in the day. So I sent you guys a calendar invite. All of you have accepted it. So just a little bit of a, just tiny little reminder. Brad, Brian, we'll talk about that as we get more into the options class in April. But I can, you can text me that individually, but it's a very, very, very easy answer. That's the good news, the best news. I love easy answers. What's up, Scott? Okay, two things about today. I'm sorry in advance for getting you really excited because this is a very, very fun class. It's extremely cool. Number two, as I've mentioned with everything, everything works, just not all the time. Number three, everything that I've talked about in the past and probably going forward in the future, you could pick that one thing, don't do anything else for the rest of your life, and make a bunch of money. This is another one of those. Because what we've been talking about all of February is gaps. And what we're talking about and discussing yesterday, or sorry, not yesterday, Monday was earnings gaps. And really, how do I, how do I, how I go through the entire list of what to choose the analysis, what likely could happen. And I'll kind of go through my thoughts on Nvidia because I feel like we analyze Nvidia very, very well on Monday and we came up with an extremely high likelihood scenario together from Monday's class. So thanks, sue, for making us all a bunch of money. I mean, she gave us the gift. She, she, she, she traveled in time on Monday and told us what was going to happen and helped us make a bunch of money. So thank you. Yeah, so if you didn't watch Monday's class or you didn't participate in the analysis. I'm sorry, that again, that's kind of the point of the class is for us to kind of do all that together. But what we're discussing today is talking about what's not only happening right now in the market. It's so amazing how timely these classes are. This is happening right now across the whole market. But I also want you to know what it is, how to scan for it and how to be aware of how it works. And that is the short squeeze. Capitalizing on earnings gaps and short squeezes. When you guys get a chance, watch this movie. It's awesome. Scott's watched it. If you haven't watched it, it's great. It talks about the big short squeeze of 2020, specifically AMC and GameStop and all those crazy meme stocks. Because there is a math component to the markets. And when you start studying a little bit about short floats and short squeezes and outstanding shares, you can start coming up with some mathematical equations. The more you study it, that spells out pretty significantly what a stock would do if it starts to move higher. Now a true humongous parabolic short squeeze. Those are rare, but you can scan for them. And we will discuss how to scan for short squeezes. But still we have the ability and the capacity to create our trading plan of if stock XYZ gaps up above this level type of analysis, or stocks with high short floats. And we're going to go through all of that and kind of walk you through, you know, Carvana and talk through it and all that kind of good stuff. But here is what a short squeeze looks like from a FinViz standpoint. So we've all talked about FinViz before. FinViz is a stock screen that we've used, you know, a million times in class already and we'll continue using. It's really, really great for free, for free product. And again, as a reminder, you could do nothing else in your trading other than every day. Look for short squeezes and, and stocks that could pop really hard and watch them continuously and then trade them when they move and then get out. And then that, that could be your trading career. You could just turn the webinar off and you're good to go forever. But that's the way it is with everything. You could, you could do that with anything. You could do that with anything. We're talking about gaps, day trading, candlesticks. You can look at Tesla every day for the rest of your life and only trade Tesla and make tons of Money trading like it doesn't matter. You can pick anything. But what I am teaching you is I'm going to continue to compile data for all my traders here. Once you start knowing a lot of the pieces of this information, and not only know you can scan for it, but you can visually identify what it is, it'll give you even more evidence of what a stock is likely going to do. So in finviz there's a section called float short. So you have the shares outstanding, which is the total amount of shares that are available to the overall market. And of those shares that are outstanding, there are people that bet against stocks and will create the amount of shares that are short. And I really like having a 5 to 20% short float. Somewhere in that general range is kind of my favorite percentage. If a short flow is much higher than 20%, it's going to be so crazy, weird, wacky and volatile. It's going to have insane, weird, strange looking charts. It's going to have very ugly style candles and there's a lot of manipulation that's going to be happening on that most likely. And so you might think that it could squeeze and go to the moon and there's always chances that it could, aka dumb money, right? GameStop and AMC. But I think, I think those also happened because of COVID and it was a timing thing and they got lucky and whatever, whatever. But if there is a huge short float on a Stock, let's say 30, 40, 50%, it also means that there's a lot of shorts who know something Tom, and they're not going to give up on that position and it's probably just going to keep going down. Generally I really like my float shorts to be somewhere between 5 and 20%. Also I will make sure to have some other settings turned on. For example, I want to be optionable. So you know, if you're buying puts or selling calls, you also want to make sure that you can have a, you know, a short turned on and you have good volume on it so that you can actively trade it. You don't get stuck in something so you have a good amount of shares to kind of get in and out. So let's look at a particular stock that we actually trade together recently. N A T E R A Natera. Now this particular stock chart is just showing you some of the things that happen on the stock. But while we have the stock pulled up, I'm also going to pop over to Finviz and I'm going to show you what this stock's short flow is and slash was at the time. All right, so NTRA. So NTRA right now as a short float of 7.1%. That means 7% of all the outstanding shares right now are short. And here's the cool part, it was higher a few weeks ago. A lot of shorts have been slowly getting out of this position. And we all know how shorts exit positions by now, right? They have to buy to cover. So if I go to ntra and we did make a good trade on this position, so we got in somewhere around here and we were able to sell some around there. So this, we haven't really given up too much of our profits and we also know that earnings is around the corner. But now if I go into the chart for just a moment, into the slide presentation and we look at these two gaps. Imagine going back in time and looking at this particular stock chart right here and being able to create some of your if then scenarios, knowing that you had a really, really steep decline of, of shorters, knowing that the short float at the time was 12% and knowing that your if then statement, if this stock gaps up, not only do you have all of these shorts that are going to be trapped, but now you're beginning to know exactly how many shorts are trapped. And if you get the opportunity to where you say, wow, there's a 12% short float on this stock, you have X amount of shares that are outstanding, the stock's price is at, you know, 42. So if it gaps up to 50, that's going to be a 20% gap. So you're going to have at least 2% of those people who are short are going to get pretty, pretty badly beat up. And if the stock starts to have any type of movement higher, you're going to get some people that are going to start getting liquidated. They're going to buy to cover and it's going to create what, a short squeeze. That's right, the short squeeze. Exactly. And look what it did. Nice move here. We end up retesting old resistance. Now, again, when I say all of this stuff, all of these things are all things that you already know. But look at that beautiful push that you got on ntra. Now here's the best part, the short float. And I'm just going through this because I was looking at the SOC at the time and you can go back and kind of see this and some transaction histories and stuff, but the short float actually increased right to 17%. Which means what? There's a lot of people that think it's going to go lower. So guess what you got. You ended up getting a Triple 10 EMA trade setup. So you go, okay, cool. Made some good money on the short squeeze. Awesome. Shorts are piling in this even more. And I have a 10 EMA trade set up right. Three bull candles below the 10. So does that give you the ability or the capacity or the capability to even add your position? Instead of maybe risking one r, maybe you risk two or three. And you play this on the downside. Now if you were playing it on the downside knowing that you're hanging out with 17% of the people who are shorting the stock, you short here and your stop loss is there, where would be a target? Well, target number one, the gap. Knowing that it's really strong gap. But we also have been talking about recently that a lot of gaps like to fill or at least get tested as a support that support. That stock comes right down there and tests it and it keeps going. So here's the best part. Now, I didn't take this, I didn't take any of these trades, right? This is all just practice and studying. But imagine knowing that as the stock goes down and the short float increased to 19% down here and then the stock had earnings. And look at the type of gap bear can bear volume. Huge bear volume gap. And go. And you have a bear shat pattern, which is a bear candle gapping up into a bear candle closing as a bear candle, second bear candle closing above the prior bear open. And the short flow is higher than it was on the last earnings gap that also squeezed up. Could you have created a pretty good if then situation if we close above the high of all that bear volume? Yes or yes. And then it gives you even more evidence. You're like, I need to be in this, I need to be taking this trade like I got to. So then you get a lot less fear, I hope, because you're like, dang, this thing could squeeze. And what does that also mean for your trade? It also means that you're probably going to hold on for what, a little bit more than 1.2. Yeah. You're gonna start to give for a little bit more. Because you know that like, man, if, if the short float starts to drop, you know, people are buying to cover, which is gonna drive it higher. If the stock keeps going up and the short float doesn't decrease, that means if it keeps going up, at some point they're going to get liquidated and they're going to start buying to cover, which means you should probably trade even longer. So it's a really fascinating piece of intel to have on these stocks. And we are given this intel for free. It's amazing. Now, the best part was on NTRA recently, right? You'll. You'll remember that we did. We did take that trade a second time. We actually took it twice. So I took a trade here, set the trade up to get in on the breakout of this pattern. Look at all these bear candles. It didn't happen. And then that's okay. Got stopped out, placed my stop a little bit too tight, right. I put my stop inside this gap, and it was a white candle gapping up. So it was a retest gap. And this was the retest. And I just. I bought too high, and it's okay. And the reason I bought too high is because it looked like it was going to squeeze again. And it is. So now if I go to a monthly chart and look at the monthly chart, we can see it was like, well, this stock has gone a lot higher in the past. You have four months of increase in a row. Here's a weekly chart. Look at us battling the 200. Simple. We already know we can start planning based on earnings. If this stock gaps down, you have a 7% short float. So there's gonna be a lot of people who are gonna be really excited to see if this thing can go lower. So if it gaps down, trades back into a support, bounces off the 200, and we get some love from the 200 on the weekly. This is gonna go higher. They're gonna get squeezed out. Nifty. Nifty pieces of intel. I think so. Yes, ma'. Am. Misu.
Yeah? Before I forget to ask, is there some place on finviz? I guess we could just go look in the broker that shows if it's optionable or not. Yeah, you said it should be optionable.
Yep, it does. You can. You can find that in finviz. So you have. Well, I'll just go ahead and show you this. The scan. Here's the scan, ladies and gentlemen. I've never posted anywhere else ever to my knowledge. And, you know, here it is, part of your ultra wealth mentorship. This is a short squeeze scan. And truthfully, I don't use this all the time because I run out of money. There's always opportunities, you know, out there. It's like I already run out of money. So it's like I don't need more, but I like finding more. And every now and then, if I'm looking for opportunities, I need to find a good trade setup, I'll do it. Short float, 10%, average true range over one, price over three. And then right here, optionable and shortable. Some short floats are so high that the broader that the financial institutions have turned the capacity to short off. So that's why I collect optionable and shortable, because every now and then you'll get a stock where they're like, ah, there's too many people when they're short. This is too much volatility. They're controlling the market and they just turn it off, which is interesting. And so then average volume is over 500,000. So let me know, I guess. Let me know in general if that makes sense, fam. Pretty easy scan. Tell her to take a screenshot of it. But from here again, you can obviously add anything you'd like. As it says below. I mean, you can put on change from open IPO day, current volume, candlestick, you can go and add anything that you want. But this is a really, really nifty little short squeeze scan. And what I would love to do is actually go and do it for us right now and just see what it comes up with. All right. If you guys haven't watched the.
The movie Dumb Money, I would strongly recommend it. I watched it for the first time about two weeks ago and it was fantastic.
It's so funny, isn't it? Hilarious.
Yeah, it's great.
I was trying to think of movies the other night to watch, something to do with trading, and I didn't come up with anything.
So the best is Wolf of Wall.
Street, but this is a close second for me.
Nice. There you go. Yeah, that's good. All right, I'll take it. My man. I'll take it. All right, average volume over 500k and poof, we got 144. Now, notice there's a few of these stocks that we actively trade in here. AAOI is one of them. So AAOI was one of those that we traded just recently. So check this out. This, ladies and gentlemen, has earnings tonight. So let's go through the whole protocol of what applied Optoelectronics would do Tom, over earnings. The same thing that we just did on Monday, right? Start with a monthly chart, zoom out, analyze it. Imagine knowing that Applied optoelectronics had a 45% short float down here. And you see that huge big ball bull volume spike come in. Can you imagine catching some of that? Good grief. That have been so cool. All right, so we have the 100 at 17. So we know that that price needs to hold. Let's go look at what the short float of Applied Optoelectronics actually is. I think it's 13%. Oh, 23. Wow. Wow. Okay. We got some people piling in this thing short. All right, well, that's the monthly chart, so we know that there's some support there. So now we go into the weekly. The weekly. We've had a really good trend. Good move, good pullback, some good consolidation. Last week was a high wave candle. This week is an inside candle. So that's pretty. And then here on the daily chart, we got the long term moving averages down here. So we know, based on this analysis, pretty basic, pretty simple, that most likely Applied Optoelectronics wants to gap down on earnings 23% a lot. The quarter of everyone who's in this is short, so they're going to want this to gap down. So if it gaps down into here, this would be something I would watch for, potentially a buy zone. But it would be pretty sketchy. Right, because you have tons of people shorting. You're now below the 100 on the monthly. Would it be a trade that I would look to fade? No or no. The answer is no, because you have two bull candles gapping down below major moving averages, below a very, very strong pivot. There's the strong pivot right there. So it'd be trapping a lot of buyers. And you got 23% of people who are short on this thing. So, yes, some of those people will cover, but they're going to want to continue to drive the price down, most likely. So this, this also tells me that I don't want to be in shares of this thing over earnings because it could have a very, very strong earnings move up or down. So I don't really want to be in shares unless I'm in a collar. Now, granted, we haven't talked tons and tons about option strategies yet, which we will in April, but we're still just compiling our technical analysis pieces. But I can tell you that if I was going to get into a options trade on Applied Opto Electronics, to answer Brian's question earlier, I'll be looking at where would the most damage be to me if this gapped up or gapped down? What are the pivots where I'm in the most amount of trouble? And the answer on the downside is 15. And the answer on the upside is 25. If, if I was in shares of Applied Optoelectronics, I'd have to at least get a $15 put option. Because if we open below 15, we know we're gonna get absolutely wrecked. There's Nothing stopping until 11. And you guys tell me what, you guys tell me what's there. I mean, there's nothing there right on any time frame. And the best part, if we open above 25, what's stopping us to the upside zero? And you got 25%, people who are going to be running for the hills. We're gonna look to short, who are gonna look to buy to cover.
I've got a quick question.
Yep.
If it falls below and goes down to 11, that would be a good buy zone, obviously.
And would.
Could you sell a put at $11.50?
Good question. Only after the gap would I do that?
Only after earnings.
Yep, only after earnings. I would wait for it to gap down because you don't want to sell puts even on stocks that you love on updates. You're just not going to be in a good position. Got it?
Yeah.
Yep. Great question. That's why Nvidia yesterday was so perfect. Okay, so this is one that we're going to want to keep an eye on. We're going to want to watch it because if it gaps above 25, this is a stock that could really, really move. And if it has a small gap down and it trades down to some of these supports, Right. Some of the shorts will cover and they'll go. I guess that's the best we can do. And then we can watch it, we can watch it from there. And since we all probably hopefully caught a little bit of a swing trade on it recently, right. With this hammer, that was a quick in and out. Then let's, let's, let's check it out. Right? Let's keep it on our watch list and just, I don't know, just watch it. Ultra.
Well.
Okay, there's applied. Let's go look at Rivian because Rivian's probably on this list, if I had to guess, get us down a lot today.
As long as my.
Let'S do is ruin on this list today. Yep. Rivian. All right. Rivan got spanked it short float 15%. So it gapped down. So some short. Those shorts will buy to cover at some point. And again, Rivian probably going to slowly keep sinking lower. Good thing that, you know, sue has some protection over earnings. Sold call and bought puts. So it's like we don't want things to gap down, but it's always good to have insurance if they do. So that's Rivian Automotive, right? Big, big down day again, 15% short float. So those shorts will buy to cover causing it to retest a little bit and then again most likely let it continue down some more. What else I want to talk about on short floats. Okay, so that's the scan. So again a short squeeze is stocks with large short floats will either move up really high or move down really fast and or both. So it means by nature stocks that have a higher short float are more volatile. That's what it means by nature. So you get a stock with a really high short flow, it's gonna be very, very volatile both up and down. So we just did applied optoelectronics. Let's go look at Abercrombie and Fitch Affirm and then Applovin so that we can just see what did happen and kind of talk through some of these and then we'll go and review some of the stocks that you guys have open right now. So here's Abercrombie and Fitch. It had a high short float and guess what it's doing? Squeezing everybody. It is just a miraculous stock right now that is refusing to go down, which is crazy cool I guess. Abercrombie and Fitch has a short float of 12.5% and it just refuses to go down. Now we know it's going to go down at some point and so we could wait for a bear gap up fade over earnings which is about two weeks away. We're not gonna really wanna short it aggressively up here unless it's a day trade. Cause that's a counter trend trade. That's just not a high probability trade. But Abercrombie and Fitch, really, really big short float. And unless you have a super, super strong gap down on earnings, this is one that you're probably gonna wanna shy away from just because it's too far away. You don't have any good down days. You don't have really, really good things to operate on. But you also don't want to buy it up here. That's at least my, my perspective of it. Afrm. So this is one that I'm in short right now. So I am part of the short float. It has a 14.5% short float. And the trade that I played on it was you had a big bull candle, big bull volume. We closed below that volume pretty quickly, right? Trapping all the bulls. You then had an inside candle. You then had a bear gap and go. We had a retest of two days, both of which were small bull candles that came in below the 10 EMA. There's the 10. And so now we're just kind of sitting back, hoping that affirm goes a little bit lower. Earnings are over. So again, I'm with the shorts. I am, you know, 14% again, is pretty, pretty high, pretty up there. And so I'm trying my best not to be too overly aggressive on this thing and move my stops too quickly. You can see Mr. Squiggles kind of thought that we'd probably retest and go down a little bit. But again, if this has a huge, huge move up and you can have a lot of bears that are trapped like over here, again, what a great rationale for you to know. Hey, I probably shouldn't be super cautious on this one. Hey, I shouldn't be probably massively patient on this trade. This is a short squeeze. This stock has a high short float, and I'm getting a bunch of bears that are trapped. I probably need to be in this thing. Would you guys all agree? Yeah. So if. If some of the stocks that you're looking at meet that criteria, that's just gonna be a really big component of what you should be looking for. And maybe it helps you on the speed of, of your positioning. And then last but not least, check out this one Applovin app. So Applovin, if we go back over here before the gap up. So here's the gap. And again, if you know that this one has a big short squeeze or short float, just relatively speaking, which it does app. So Applovin had, you know, right at 10%. So again, that that's within the range of what I'm looking for. And you're looking at this particular chart, and you're looking at this volume right here that's getting trapped, right, all the bears, and you see all these upper shadows, and you see the fact that it's trying to push down, you just simply create the fact of the if then scenario. You can just simply say, if we gap above here, people are going to be pretty trapped. And you can know that there's going to be a pretty decent amount of people who are going to be squeezed out of this thing. And if the stock gaps up, which it did, we ended up gapping up. We're trapping now every single bear. Are you going to be looking aggressively to short this? And the answer is no, right? Definitely not. Because again, it has a really nice short flow. And you can look at and visually see all the additional bears that are trapped. And so with that gap that occurred, right, that 17, 18, let's just call it 20% gap. So you all right. We have a 20% move up. So the simple fact, I guess, simple math, you have a 20% gap up with a 12% short float. The likelihood of it continuing higher is probably pretty big. And so at open you're considering some type of bull trade or at least you're not waiting to be aggressively bearish. And you can see you, you're getting some decent follow through here. So it's just one of those, one of those additional things that's really, really nice to know. It's really great to use and just to be able to see. I think it helps our analysis a lot. Carvana is a stock that has a really good short float. It's, it's pretty up there. And guess when earnings are to on Carvana.
Tonight. Tonight. Tonight.
Tonight. Yeah. So it has a 35% short float. 35. So if you got your collars, congratulations. If you have already paid for your collars, meaning like you can buy to close the sold call. If you need to uncap your upside calls on Carvana, you can and just keep your puts. Something to consider, something to think through, just something to think about. But also we have the ability to come up with our analysis of if Carvana gaps up and starts taking out this, it's game over until 73. Goodbye, Hello, hire my old friend. Right? There's, I mean we, we can go through all the moving averages. There's nothing stopping this thing whatsoever at all, right? I mean the only, you got the 50 on the weekly. So there's no other moving average until 73. I'm not saying it's going to gap up, I'm just saying if it does. And so that also allows you to know, okay, if I'm in a covered call, should I consider buying to cover? Should I consider getting out? If it has a gap up, what could I consider doing with it? All those things are just pieces and components of the, of the strategy and of the trade itself. All things to think about. But if we were opening tomorrow on Carvana and let's say we open like right around here, like, okay, you know, we got a bull candle, we could probably pull back a little bit. But I'm going to watch it pretty closely to start pumping. But if we again really take out every single short that's getting into this thing, it's, it's going to be a squeeze that could help your day trade that can help your swing trades. So I think it's useful just to know what short squeezes are. I think it's useful to know what short Float is. This does not mean that I exclusively only look for short floats, but it does mean that if I can find a good short float and I find a good setup, I will play the heck out of that setup again. It gives me one additional thing where it tells my brain, which sometimes gets scared. Hey, don't be a giant chicken. Get into this thing short. Or, sorry, get into this thing long. People could get squeezed out. Yes, ma'.
Am.
Go ahead, too.
All right. What'd you say? What did you say about you can possibly get out of your calls? Yeah, catch that?
Yep.
Good question. So, let's say, for example, you sold this call for $4. If right now you are profitable on that sold call and you can buy it back for less. Or if at some point you were able to buy it back for less and now you just have a put, so you're just protecting the downside in case it gaps up. Why would. Why would anyone consider doing that?
Well, you can make a whole lot more money if you got the big short squeeze. So keep your shares and. Okay, gotcha. I did. I wasn't getting that. Thank you.
No, no, no. Of course. Yeah, My pleasure. My pleasure. So it's just something to think through. It's something to be cognizant of. If we're ever in a collar over earnings, we're ever in a position and we have one of these rando stocks out there and you' wow, this short float's crazy. And then you come up with the if then statements, and you're like, well, you know, I can buy back my sold call for a profit, and I just have a long put at that point, then let me just go ahead and do that, because if it gaps up, it could really run. Or if, depending on how your collar is structured or your trade setup is structure, you're like, wow, there's no real short float at all. I'm not really worried about it. I'm just going to leave it alone. That's also fine. But this is also one of those situations where if, depending on the gap, if it. Let's say. Let's say we gap to here, there might not be anything to worry about. But if you're gapping up to here and you are wondering in your brain, should I take and buy back my sold call or get into more bullish positions on Carvana, the short float would probably help answer your question, right? Family. And that's really the key, because you could just leave this trade alone and get called away at 65 and, like, congratulations all day. But if you wanted to, depending on how it gaps tonight, it's going to be just really, really interesting to see. So since Rivian gapped down and Tesla's been really weak, I, I do think that Carvon is going to gap down, especially with the 35% short float, personally. So what I'm going to do is leave the option alone and just know that if it gaps up, my plan, if. And it needs to open above 60 for this plan to play out, but if it gaps up above 60 on earnings, then I will get into a new bullish position on, on a very slight pullback. I won't expect anything huge. That's what I will do because there's a lot of, there's a lot of gap downs right now in the markets. And then Nvidia saved the whole market today, obviously with that huge gap up. So definitely some fascinating intel and some really, really cool things just to be, to be cognizant of and to just study. And I think it's really fascinating to just see how these play out, knowing that we played one of these together. Right, Aoi, and it also has earnings tonight and a gap above 25, it's going to soar. So start watching it, put it on your list, be cognizant of it. Right? And then I'm in a firm right now short, you know, on a, on a swing trade that the few of you might be in on with it with me, which is nifty. Let's see if there's anything else to talk about. Obviously, Nvidia, congrats to sue for just nailing that analysis. Joe. Joe, are you selling some of those shares you picked up? Did you stay on that bull gap and go or you exit for your gain?
I got like I did. I did the half of them at the $68. I think I got out of another 25 of them for $93 yesterday and then closed the rest today for.
More than that. Like another $25 more than that.
So.
Nice. Good job.
Yeah. So.
I love that. That's really cool. Congrats, Tesla. Tesla is working on its second update in a row, which is nice. So if we get one more good little pump tomorrow, we take out these upper shadows, these bear counts, I think we could get up into 202, 204, which is where I will be looking to do probably a 2 15, 2 17, something like that. Covered call for early march on Tesla. And then Mongo database got back into the Mongo database on some of these pullbacks and I'm Just doing it with profits on some out of the money calls. The Mongo database had a big run up, had a beautiful pullback. We came right back to where everyone had FOMO of not getting in literally yesterday. So if you're able to snag some there, cool. If not, no big deal. I still think you'll get a chance to do it, but it was, it was a nice little fast retest. And so if you're able to catch some of the move on the upside, congratulations, Robin Hood. I think this is all a swing trade that some of us have together. I, I'm in this one. So if you're in this one. Beautiful. It looks nice, looks cute. It's hanging out. We're up on it, so it's never a bad idea. Let's go look at Robinhood. And it's short float looks pretty interesting. So Robinhood short float is 8%. So that tells me it's not ultimately super high, right? It's not super, super high. So I'm not going to be wildly patient on this, just expecting it to just keep going, getting, you know, inching higher. So I won't, I won't be expecting that on Robin Hood since the short float isn't outrageous. So again, if it can start making some higher moves, great. But again, I'm not going to be dramatically ultimately patient. I don't think on this position, probably end up making a small win on it. The short float was higher. I would definitely hold on to a little bit bigger. Walmart having it split. Yep, that's kind of coming right around the corner. So they had good earnings. They had the gap up. Your analysis was spot on, Jeremy. And I think after the split, Walmart will have a little bit of a dip. So we'll probably post one of these into 178, 177post split will probably trade down to 167. And that would be a great spot to buy the dip once again on Walmart, my dude. All right, Eric had a question. This is where I want to look over the stock that you guys are in. What am I looking at for each and every one of you beautiful people?
Can you hear me? You cut out just a little bit.
Yep, I got you, big guy.
Tesla, there was a opportunity to sell a put today, a March 22nd put, which is four weeks away, which is one month at $8 and $0.35 for one contract. And the put sale was 195. So I said to myself, I wouldn't mind owning Tesla at 195. So I did that. Why did it work? Why? What's the. So the worst case scenario, a month from now, Tesla is lower than 195 and I have to buy it 100 shares at 195.
Correct.
In best case scenario, it goes to 210 and then I just got paid 835 bucks today.
Yeah. What?
It seems too good to be true.
Oh, it's not. It's good when it goes up. Tesla went up today. So that's why, that's why the trade worked, because you, you did a bullish position. So if Tesla is bullish. Right. And Tesla continues to go higher, which it looks like it will, that trade will. The, the put option will go down in value as you know, so it'll decrease. So right now you sold it at 8 and it's probably worth what, 4 or 5.
It's 8, 3 cents less than I paid 8:32.
Oh, okay, gotcha. So you're still in it. Understand?
So yeah, I'm still in it. So it. But in March 22, Tesla is probably going to be above 195. All this line in my E Trade account is just going to go. It'll just vanish. Right?
Correct.
After the expiration.
Correct. Okay.
So.
Yep. And, and Tesla needs to be above 195 in order for that to happen. If it's below 195, effectively you, you get. Yep. You buy shares at 195 and your cost basis is 195 minus the premium that you receive. So 8 bucks.
Yeah. And that would be fantastic because who wouldn't want Tesla Tom under 190? Because we all kind of. I. Well, there's plenty of people that load it up down here because a good place to buy.
Yeah, we're. I think we're all in it. I think everyone here has some position in Tesla down here. You got, you got the double bottom close above the neckline. Retest the neckline. So you got that potential pattern. You have a potential inverted head and shoulders that close above the neckline and retested. So you have that potential pattern. You have two bear candles both closing above the 10 EMA, which is this one and this one. And so you know, if we start breaking above there, that's going to be strong.
Got gap to fill.
Yeah, we got a gap to fill up here. So that's likely. So yeah, man. And there's. There's some, definitely some support down here.
Just shows up negative in my account. And the reason is because I sold.
Yeah, yeah, it'll be a. It'll have a negative one contract in front of it. And if, depending on when you sold it, if the P L shows negative, that just means that you got in when Tesla was a little bit high. So since then it's dropped and so the option has gone up in value from when you sold it. Because anytime you want to sell puts, you want to sell puts. Essentially when whatever you're looking at is red and people are terrified and scared, that's always the best time to sell puts.
Yeah. Awesome. Thank you.
Beautiful. You're welcome. You're welcome. You're welcome. Zillow, Brian Johnson or Brian Jones? Zillow. It's out of good support. This is the hundred on the monthly still. So that's, that's really going to be it, Tom. That's the level that Zillow needs to hold. And there's nothing really ultimately new to report on Zillow for you. The cool news is this is the making of a pretty decent morning star reversal right here. So if we take out the high of these two candles in the next two to three days, or you know, really anytime before March, that's going to be a nice bull sign and we'll probably pop right back up to 60 if that happens. Because we're, we're in a little bit of a channel right now supported by these long term moving averages. So I think that's probably best case scenario on Zillow. Realistically, you still got the moving averages, so you are at a support level. Things look okay. And there's that perspective. Second perspective is we had a big gap up, big volume, big upper shadow. We had a 10 EMA trade here, right? Bear candle first bear candle above. You had a gap down and open lower than the hammer. So this is a Tennyma reversal trade that we've talked about previously. So there can be certainly an opportunity that this starts to poke its head a little bit lower if it takes out this candle and, or this candle. I don't think that would happen until at the very, very earliest Monday afternoon. So if that occurs, just know that it likely could trade down a little bit lower and just kind of prepare yourself for a smidge more pain until March. And then they start lowering interest rates allegedly in June, allowing more people to buy real estate, real estate to go up and probably more people getting into houses, arm holdings. So arm was a beautiful, beautiful pullback into the 10 EMA right here. It really, really needed to, because again, just remember this is a, this is a retest gap, right? Bull candle Gapping up. So retest gap. This also right here was a retest gap. Bull candle gapping up. So we had to rest. We're way too high. That was a fantastic trade. Down into the, into the 10 EMA. So Scott, if you're able to buy a little bit of a dip on that, congrats. You had a really, really beautiful hammer yesterday also. And we took out that high of that hammer and then it just gapped up with earnings of Nvidia. So anything that was, you know, AI or semiconductor related is up as of this point. You can go into a smaller time frame, Scott, maybe like an hourly chart and draw some support resistance on this. So let me kind of show you what I would do. So go into the hourly. Here's an hourly chart and draw some support resistance here and here and then one other super small little line right there. So I'll post that for you in our, in our group. So if you're buying, you're going to want to buy towards the lower level of that pattern. If you want to sell, sell towards the higher of that pattern. Beautiful. All right. Another swing trade that I think some of you probably might be in is this one. S o u n I'm in this. Eric is in this. We posted this. John Alonzo posted this. Yeah, this one looks nice. It's moving well for us today. Earnings are next week, so I do plan on being out before earnings, most likely. We have a lot of volume coming on this thing. S O u n soundhound AI so it's an AI whatever. So with Nvidia gapping up, that's good. Short floats only 13%. So, you know, there's that, that's good enough where if it really starts to pump, it could start to pump. And I'm looking for. I would need a close above4.10 before Tuesday. So that's what I'm gonna write down to myself. If we can close above 410 by Tuesday afternoon. So that gives us three trading days. Close above 410 by end of day Tuesday. And I'll hold until earnings, which is when I'll most likely sell. Unless we can find a good collar or unless we can find something else interesting. Maybe we just sell a little bit, but I'll probably get out unless it does that. And if it does that, it could, it could have a good squeeze, you know, and if it's up to here like 462 and it comes into earnings and we're decently profitable, I might just hold over earnings just to see what it does because it's not an overly expensive stock and it would have to gap down 33% to stop us out if it got up there, which obviously it could. Well, we would still only lose an R if that happens. And obviously if. If something crazy happened, like a gap up above $6 on earnings or something like that, that'd be amazing. Right? Obviously probably won't happen, but we will see.
So.
Yeah, I'm in that one. All right. What else do you have for me, Ms. Sue? What are you in. What are you making all that money on over there?
Not this one, but can you look at scs? Is it scs? It's like just kind of stalled steel case.
Yeah. Yeah. I think this one. Give it a couple more days. I would say if it doesn't bounce off the 100, you know, keep. Keep giving it room to bounce into there. But if it doesn't bounce off the 100, make a new high and get back to profitable. I would say before the end of the month, just bail on it. Yeah, it's like a dead, dead horse that doesn't want to run for you.
It is really. Yeah.
But your ELF is running.
It sure is.
Yeah. Love my L. Talk to me about your Rivian. About the Rivian position. Are you gonna let. Just let that put exercise and sell your shares?
I wasn't sure about that. That was good question because, I mean, I think eventually, over the summer, I'm really thinking that it's going to go up, but. Yeah, but I could get back in too.
It's also true.
Exercise and get back in if it goes even lower.
So.
And your expiration is March, right, I believe.
Yeah, March.
So just leave it. Just leave it. Your. Leave your collar alone until March and let's just see what it does over the next month. And if it's a lot lower, then. Yeah, just get exercise and like you said, then you can always just get back in.
Yeah. Save a little bit more money.
Yep. Okay. So Brian got out of his AMD position, so he exited that for a game. Congrats, Brian. That's awesome. Intel. Intel just hanging out. It'll eventually go up, but it is taking it sweet, sweet time for Scott Qualcomm, though. Looks really nice. Dividends are coming up, so. Good job on that one, Scotty. That one looks pretty for you, Eric. Your cues are going to get called away today. Congrats. Yep. Proud of you. You finally get to experience a covered call sale go through and that's going to feel so good, man, because you're going to get stacked with cash, and then you can just buy this bad boy again at a lower price than you got in before and a lower price than you're selling it for. Because we all know that this gap, ladies and gentlemen, we all know this gap's going to fill.
Yeah, that's.
That's just. This is a matter of time before this guy fills. Two weeks maybe. So once that. Once that fills and you can buy your shares again.
It's not a good short. Too risky. Because you're betting against the United States.
Yeah, I don't. I don't. Economy. Yeah, I wouldn't short it. No, I wouldn't either. Yeah.
But you could sell some puts down there around whatever after some ugly days.
Yep. I've sold many puts on. On the queues in my life. Yeah, I just need a little bit of fear to come in first. A little bit of terrifying. Something like this. You get one of those, you can.
Sell some puts, and if you got that, you'd sell puts around 410ish or some support level. 412.
Exactly.
Because you'd be happy to get it at that if you got. If you had to.
Precisely. Precisely. Precisely. Palo Alto is looking good. That one's slowly getting shipped away, which is nice.
Jeremy.
Yes, ma'. Am.
I'm still in my shares of Nvidia. I didn't want to sell yet. So how high do we think we're going? There's nothing up there holding it down.
Leave it forever. I think at this point. Yeah. I don't even know what to do.
I mean, it's. It's crazy. I put in a couple lowball orders last night, like five minutes before it dropped, and it was crazy. I checked back in and they filled and like, what?
Yeah, so you did. I just have to tell you, mad.
Respect for holding those all through this. I don't know. I saw that green and I had to take it. Mad respect.
Yeah. No, I didn't keep all of them, but, yeah, I put in like an order for 650 and 660 and they both filled. So I was dancing this morning, but yeah.
So wait a minute. You. You listened to your own advice on Monday is what you're saying?
I did. And I fought with myself a little bit. I was like, oh, and. And your words were like, if you say you're gonna do this, you better follow through. So I did. So thank you.
Proud of you.
Yeah.
Made a lot of money this morning, so.
Yeah, so did our boy Jeff. Jeff made some good money. Good job, Jeff. And again, we know it's going to pull back, right? Duh. Like, we'll have dips, but we know the trend. And when the dip comes in, you guys can get in again. The beautiful part about this trade was, for me, it was very, very obvious. Like, we knew the trend. I thought it was going to have a small gap up. I didn't think I was going to do this. This is the largest market cap shift in the history of the world. So you're experiencing history right now in front of us. Like Nvidia. Nvidia added an Indonesia today. Like, this one little move was bigger than 47% of countries in the world. Like the total country. So incredible. Just a huge, huge move. So, Sue, I don't. I don't know. I mean, 800, like, is definitely possible. Why not? But, yeah, this stage probably just leave them because you got them at a good price. You know, you bought them nice and low.
I'll just hang on to it.
Yeah, sounds. Good job. Great. Great job. All right, well, let's see if there's anything else, anything else anybody else wants to review. It doesn't have to be right now, like, before market. It could be aftermarket. Close. Was there anything specific?
Someone told me about a stock tqq.
Yep. So this is just a. Faster cues. That's all it is.
Is. This one is. So this is an EFT.
Yeah. Yep. Yeah. ETF. Yep. This is just a ETF that is a 3X of the Q's. It's been around for a while, so it'll probably be. Be here for a bit. But this is just an ultra volatile mover, so it's just like the Q's. So if the Qs goes up 3%, this will go up 9. It's a 3X. But make sure you love volatility. But I do have people that absolutely love trading this thing. So instead of having a bunch of money in the queues, which is the NASDAQ etf, they'll take that exact same amount of money and buy this and you'll get more shares and more volatility. And it has great. It has great volume, too. It really does.
So it's not a stock that would go to zero or anything crazy like that.
This can. This can go to zero. I. I highly doubt that it would. Yeah, but it. The Q. It doesn't mean the Q's has to go to 0 for this to happen. But you'll notice in Covid, when people thought The Q, the T2Q was the greatest thing ever went from 30 to $8, it was down 73% in five days. Yeah. So this, it is not an unbreakable basket, because if this got liquidated too much and too many people sold it, it could go to zero. It is unlikely, but if the markets have a 20% drop, this will have a 60% drop. So just. It is. It is a volatile cookie, dude. Okay, now, that being said, check this out, team. I actually am kicking myself a little bit, but I didn't buy any nvdl. But NVDL is Nvidia, but cheaper. This has only been around for a couple years, like two years. So again, this is a stock that can go to zero because it's managed by Granite Shares. So this is an ETF that's managed by a third party. So just saying all that to say I would never put, like, your life savings into this particular etf, but if you ever want some action of Tesla, of Nvidia and don't want to pay for Nvidia's action, you could get some access to this. Tesla has one of those too, called tsll. So if you're too cheap and don't want to buy any Tesla, you can buy some tsll. This also has covered calls, so you can sell calls and you can buy share. You can do all the stuff that you can do on stocks. You can do them on these two things, which are pretty little. Pretty fun little instruments. Like, just kind of what you're talking about, Jeff. Yeah, this is another amazing avenue and invention of. I just. Just a reminder of how flipping big the markets are. It's unbelievable the amount of money and opportunity that's there. It's. It's almost unfathomable. I know we set up a swing trade on Mirror together, also Miran Technologies, but this one we probably won't get into. And if we do, we might lower the entry a little bit. So I'll probably end up canceling this one in a couple days. It was a beautiful trade. We didn't get triggered, which is fine, but just small little reminder. Okay. Anything else? Family? What you got, Jeff? You good? Cool. Anyone else? All right, well, your homework. Find a short squeeze setup, post it in WhatsApp. That's your homework. It can be an if, then it doesn't have to be like a, oh, I'm buying tomorrow. It can be a if XYZ stock does whatever, then I will do, and it could be two months in the future. By the way, those are usually the best trades, but like sue said just a moment ago, only if you act on them. Gentlemen, don't let little miss sue out. Trade all of you, please. Right, Jeremy, don't. Don't let little miss sue just make all the money. And you're over there just not making a bunch of money because Sue's killing it. Be like sue and Joe, gentlemen. Okay? Be like my ladies. Don't be a giant chicken. Yeah, go post your. Your short squeeze setups. Let me know how it can help. I'm always available for each and every one of you. Thank you so much for being in my life. That's your homework. And then Monday, I'll be reporting from the Ariel Buck Island, British Virgin Islands, at the abundance keynote summit for me for the year. I'll be doing it in the morning and love you all so much. Thanks for being in my life. Appreciate it. Bye.
Bye.
