Jess argues that women often unconsciously emasculate partners through criticism and high expectations, preventing them from doing inner work. She challenges women to examine their own patterns and take responsibility for creating space where men can grow.

The number one thing that I hear from women is that I want my guy to do the work. I'm doing the work, he's not doing the work. I really need for him to do the work. And my question for you is, are you doing your work? Are you doing your work so that you can create the space for him to show up as his highest and best self? Or are you so busy criticizing him and looking at what he's doing or not doing That you're making it actually impossible for him to show up and do the work because you're emasculating him at every turn. And I say this with love, but this is something we need to be aware of as women, is that we have been trained in a way that's so unconscious to emasculate men, and it is not doing anybody any favors. So look at yourself, be self-responsible, and ask yourself honestly, am I doing that? Doing the work to create the space for the kind of partnership that I want.
