David Molina explains why free content gets scrolled past without being watched. People give brief attention to posts but don't truly consume them, so they never convert to customers. Charging a small fee filters out casual viewers and dramatically increases the odds that people who pay will actually watch and engage.

So why does it happen that you give your audience a lot of value but they don't really buy, they don't really move on to the next stage? And it's kind of disheartening because you gave them a lot of value, but it's like they don't reciprocate, you know what I mean? What do they watch the content but then don't transact or don't move on to the next stage? And, uh, well, it's because they haven't seen the content. That's the thing. It's, uh, like attention is not the same thing as consumption. The value you may be giving away, there is a possibility that people are consuming it. Like, they see your post on Instagram, they see your story, but they only really paid attention to it for a few seconds. And that's why they didn't move on to the next stage. Because if they actually consumed it, if they saw you in your element, if they watched you doing the thing you do, like, where you're actually like the guy, then there's a much higher likelihood that they would move, and yet they don't. So maybe you're just not getting the— maybe you're giving away value and there's like really good things, but have you considered that people are just not watching it? People are just not seeing it. And if you charge a small, a symbolic amount for it, then that would increase the amount of people who would actually do it.
