David Molina argues that screening prospects by money alone damages communities. Members who only pay but don't engage create burnout, hurt retention, and tank recurring revenue. Real value comes from active contribution, not wallets.
Just because a prospect has money doesn't mean they're qualified. If you just look at people's money when they're opting in and that's your only criteria for a qualified lead, then you're going to end up with either a bunch of anxiety because they're not going to be the right people. You're going to end up burned out because you just don't like them. The value of a community is the members. So if you have members that are just there because they have money and they don't have anything else to contribute, then that kind of hurts you long-term because people won't want to stay. If people won't want to stay, you don't get recurring revenue.
