A jiu-jitsu dropout learns from his friend Lobo that trying means six months minimum, not a month. The speaker applies this to business: entrepreneurs test offers with a single DM or post, then quit. Real validation takes hundreds of attempts to gather enough data.

I've been training jiu-jitsu for like 1 month or so, but then I quit because, um, you know, not a fan of having people's ass on my face. And what happened there was I told Lobo, yeah, I tried jiu-jitsu, I didn't really like it, it wasn't my thing. He's like, oh well, how long did you do it for? I'm like, I went to like a month worth of classes. He's just like, son, that's not trying. Do it for 6 months, that's trying. Same thing with the offers, bro. It's like, this is why people stay for 3 months crafting their damn offer is that, oh, I sent it out, didn't work. Well, like, when you say send it out, that's a lot of nuance. What did you do? Did you actually try to validate it? Like, what— how did you try to validate it? Was it 1 DM? Was it 1,000 DMs? Was it 1 post? Was it 10 posts? People don't try enough. Like, that has to be 100 of something for you to be like, okay, I have enough data, enough to even make a guess if this works or not.
