So oil pulling is a very, very ancient Ayurvedic tradition where they believe that a lot of the toxins are in the mouth. So by putting some oil in your mouth, they traditionally use sesame. I like to use coconut oil because it tastes a lot better. And for at least 15 minutes, just kind of like this, it activates the digestive enzymes and it basically pulls the toxins from the gums. You know, many different ancient traditions talk about the toxins in the mouth. And I know this and I believe this because when I detox, less and less when I do the tongue scraping do I have residue on my tongue. So for those that don't know what a tongue scraper is, it's basically a metal device that you poke your tongue out and you pull it along and it takes off all of the gross disgusting stuff that comes out of our bodies when we're sleeping. And this is why I know that detox works, because by the end of a detox you have way less on your tongue and it looks different, it smells different, it's a different color. So the oil pulling, doing that daily is a great way to keep your mouth clean and to keep taking the toxins that are moving through your body every day because because that's the biggest detoxification. Your lungs and your breath is trying to remove toxins, so this just supports that process.
