How to get a Top Voice badge on LinkedIn with artificial intelligence? Well, then you're in the right place because today I wanna tell you a little bit about the Top Voice badge feature on LinkedIn, and I wanna share my screen. But first, allow me to introduce myself. Hello, my name is Joe Apfelbaum. I am the CEO of Ajax Union, a B2B digital marketing agency. And I'm here coming in live from New York City. I'm excited to be sharing with you some insights on how to leverage LinkedIn. And the way that I do that is by sharing my screen and showing you some of the things that I've been doing on LinkedIn that helped me be able to get success, particularly using artificial intelligence together with LinkedIn. So quick overview of what the Top Voice badge is. If you wanna have credibility on LinkedIn, you need to have a credible profile on LinkedIn, which means making sure you have all the right elements. You have your photo, you have your background banner, you have your headline, you have your about section. On top of the headline, there's your first name, last name. You have your verification badge, you have your pronunciation icon where you can click on and hear people's names. And then you have something called the top voice badge. If you wanna be an authority, a leader, you need to have this top voice badge on your profile, but that's something that you have to earn by contributing to something called collaborative articles on LinkedIn. And how do you contribute to collaborative articles on LinkedIn? Well, simple. You go to linkedin.com/advice. When you go to linkedin.com/advice, you're gonna see many different categories that you can choose from to be able to contribute to collaborative articles. Now you can click on any of those collaborative articles and you can contribute a comment. And if you can contribute more than 3 comments a week or 3 comments a day, and then your connections like those comments, you're much more likely to get that badge. And that badge stays on your profile for 60 days. Once you have that badge, you can screenshot the badge and then let your connections know that, hey, I just won an award. That's a PR effort. That is a public relations effort. Winning an award, getting a badge, showing credibility. If LinkedIn gives you credibility for something, use it in your marketing, use it in your emails, use it on LinkedIn. All right. My question to you is, where are you dialing in from today? Let me know. We're gonna make this LinkedIn Live shorter than usual, but I want you to communicate with me by giving this post a like, letting me know that you're watching this. And also let me know where you're dialing in from. And I'm gonna show you this Top Voice badge, but I wanna make sure that I'm actually talking to actual people here and not just talking to myself. And of course, I'm gonna be showing you some other things that you can do today. For example, how to create a LinkedIn events page and also how to invite your connections to that. So if you're ready, just write, I'm ready. Let me know where you're dialing in from. Let me know what industry you're in in the comments below. Would love to see that industry. And let's dig right in. Let me share my screen. Hopefully you guys can see what I see. You can say, Joe, I see your screen in the chat. This way I see that you guys can see my screen. I am loading here LinkedIn. Okay, looks like people have been liking. So we got a couple people that liked. Roy, welcome. So glad that you're here. Looks like Jane is here from Canada. Roy is here from New York. Welcome, welcome. So glad you guys are with me here. And by the way, I would do a one-on-one with any of my LinkedIn connections and share insights with them on a one-on-one basis. Like, I'm happy to educate people and inspire them even on a one-on-one basis. I'm gonna click on this like this so you can see me side by side with my screen, and hopefully you can see what I'm talking about over here. All right, so let's dig right in. So if you go to my LinkedIn profile, you see linkedin.com/in/joeapfelbaum. Do you see right now my photo? Do you see my name? Do you see next to my name there's a little badge? See this little badge over here? When I click on the badge, it shows you my verification status. It shows when I joined LinkedIn. It's showing when I updated my contact information, when I updated my profile photo. It shows how I got verified using government ID. You see, that is verification of my LinkedIn profile. I also have a little, a little button here that shows my voice pronunciation, how to pronounce my voice, and you can hear my voice when you click on that. It also says LinkedIn AI Trainer because I train people how to use LinkedIn and how to use artificial intelligence. And some of you were asking me recently, Joe, what is your tool called? You see right here it says Try ChatGPT for LinkedIn. So when you click on Try ChatGPT for LinkedIn, It takes you to Evvy AI. You see that? Improve your credibility and engagement on LinkedIn. Evvy AI is a LinkedIn assistant that helps you create personalized comments, write posts, reply to direct messages. It's a Chrome extension that is designed to help LinkedIn users create more engaging and optimized content to improve their visibility and networking opportunities. So today in particular, I'm talking about this badge. You see where it says Top Digital Marketing Voice? If you click on the badge, it shows people on LinkedIn find Joe Apfelbaum a noteworthy contributor to collaborative articles on the following skill, digital marketing voice. You see that? And it reassesses every 60 days. So if you wanna keep that badge, by the way, do you have a badge or do you want a badge? Let me know in the chat. Say, I have a badge, or say, I want a badge. And also hit that repost button so more people can join us. I'm gonna refresh my profile over here. Just a few minutes ago, I, I hit, uh, 46,100 followers. Now I'm down to 46,097 followers because obviously I got unfollowed by 3 people. And I don't care who unfollowed me. Some people are like so concerned when they lose a follower. Don't worry about it. I'm gonna get to 50,000 followers pretty soon, and I'm not worried about losing a few followers. So I don't want you to be worried about losing followers. Just keep posting, keep engaging, keep messaging, keep adding value. So I'm gonna show you how to get that top voice badge really quickly. It's not rocket science to do, and now with AI you can do it pretty quickly. So let me know where you're dialing in from. Curious to know who's actually watching me. So I got Michael Hopps is watching me. I'm gonna say welcome. See that? I just wrote welcome to Michael. I see Jane is watching me here, so I'm gonna write welcome to Jane. I see Roy is watching me. I'm going to say welcome to Roy. See, welcome. And I see James is watching me here. I'm going to say welcome to James. Welcome to James. So this is what I do. I'm building a relationship with the 4 of you and everybody else watching. So go ahead and leave a comment. Let me know what industry you're in. I'm curious to know what industry you're in. So Like I said before, you go to linkedin.com/advice. So I'm gonna go on top. I'm gonna go to linkedin.com/advice. Can you guys see, uh, where it says explore collaborative articles on the top? It says we are unlocking community knowledge in a new way. It starts with an article on a professional topic or skill written with the help of AI. So LinkedIn is using artificial intelligence to write these articles and they say, but it's not complete without insights and advice from people with real life experiences. So we invited experts to contribute and you are the experts right in the chat, right? I am an expert. I would love to see everyone admit that they are an expert. Admit it. Say, I admit it, Joe. I'm an expert. I'm an expert on LinkedIn. It does take courage to say that you're an expert. I used to be like, oh, I'm not really an expert. 'Cause the more you know, the more you know, you don't know, but I want you to know that you are an expert. And you to claim that expertise. Because if you know more than most people in a particular topic, most of the people in your world— like, for example, I know more about digital marketing than most people in my circle know about digital marketing. I have a lot of people that know about digital marketing in my circle, but I know more than all of them, all of the people. I know more than all of the people. So when somebody says, Joe, tell me about digital marketing, Or somebody in my circle says, who should be speaking about digital marketing? They say Joe Applebaum. Who should be speaking about LinkedIn? Joe Applebaum. Who should be speaking about artificial intelligence? In my circle, I'm the one that knows the most about that. Doesn't mean I'm the biggest expert in the world, but that makes me an expert in my circle. Do you guys get it right? I got it in the chat if you get it. And tell me what you're an expert on. So are you an expert on marketing, public relations, healthcare, engineering, IT services? Are you an expert on sustainability, on business administration, on telecommunications? You see, I'm reading it right off the advice section. So because I'm an expert in marketing and in sales, I'm going to click on marketing on the top. So I click on marketing. Once I click on marketing, what happens is it loads all the collaborative articles that are related to marketing. You see that? How you can maintain focus while working on advertising. What are the most effective ways to promote your podcast? How can you manage levels of conflict between team members? What are the best news angles for a press release? You see that? All that are things that I am able to contribute to, but there are more subcategories here on the right. So maybe I wanna contribute to social media marketing. So I click on social media marketing, and then there are more categories on the right. Do you see that? Product innovation, advertising. Um, maybe over here I find something particular. What are the benefits of working with a mentor in social media? Or how can coaching make your social media— make you a social media marketing expert? So I'm going to click on how can coaching make you a social media marketing expert? And now I'm going to load this collaborative articles. Okay. Now that I loaded this collaborative article, I can see everything that's going on over here. So I have how can coaching make you a social media expert? And then on the right, it says top experts on this particular article. So there are 3 top experts in this article. So if I want to become a top expert in this article, all I have to do is start dropping comments on the sections of this article. So see where the button says, add your perspective? Can you guys see that? It says, add your perspective. So you want to find either one, gain clarity and focus, and then it says over here, coaching can help you define your social media objective, and then you can add your perspective. Number 2, learn a new skill and technique. You can add your perspective to that. Number 3, boost your creativity and innovation. You could have your perspective to that. Get feedback and support. Build your network and reputation. Here's what else to consider. You see that? So together they're building out this article, and it's very, very clear that these people are using artificial intelligence to contribute to this. So how can you use artificial intelligence to contribute to this article? Of course, you want to use your expertise, but AI will help you essentially draft it for you so that it just becomes much faster. My goal here is for me to show you how to save time. So if you want to save time, write in the chat, I want to save time. I'm curious to know who here values their time. Some people value time more than money. Some people value money more than time. I'm curious to know. Just write time in the chat if you value time, if you value your time, if your time is worth something. Let me know that it's worth something. Look at all these people commenting. Roy. Jane, James, Michael, Sandrine, Dottie. Welcome, welcome. So glad that you guys are here. Guys, write, I'm an expert. I want you to commit to being an expert on LinkedIn. So let's go in here and show you how to do this. So number 4, get feedback and support. I'm gonna click on add your perspective. Now, do you see the little purple icon there? You see that purple icon? That is the Evvy AI icon. So this tool, Evvy AI, when you add it to Chrome, It adds icons in different places on LinkedIn. So as you can see, I added the icon right over here. So when I click on this icon, it checks if I'm logged in. Now I click on it again and it pops open the screen. Now I can decide what type, what is my goal here? So maybe career advice, challenges and solutions, educational. So I'm gonna do informational. My com— my, my tone is gonna be conversational, and then my persona is gonna be my Joe Apfelbaum persona. Related to this particular topic. So I'm going to choose Joe Apfelbaum, CEO of Ajax Union. I'm going to choose GPT-4, which is a little smarter. I'm going to hit generate, and what's going to happen is, is the AI is going to look through my particular persona, it's going to consider the tone, and it's going to consider the goal, and it's going to draft a collaborative article in just a few seconds— a collaborative article contribution in just a few seconds. So you see it says Coaching in social media marketing is powerful tool for growth, uh, provides not just technical knowledge but also emotional support, which is crucial in the dynamic of digital marketing. I've seen how a personalized approach can significantly increase an individual's resilience, leading to more effective strategies and successful campaigns. Okay, so you see that, and now I can add more characters because we only included 400 characters here, so I can include up to 700. Um, and I'm gonna say, as a LinkedIn coach myself, I have benefited from coaching. Okay, now I'm gonna press add, and now I just added this collaborative article. Now if I wanna share this edition with my network, I can click on the 3 dots and I can hit copy link to contribution, and then I can send this contribution to my network and have them like on it. You see that? I'm gonna pop it in the comments over here. I'm gonna go back to my profile and I'm gonna pop it in the comments so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Okay, I'm gonna go to my profile. I'm gonna look at my recent activity. This is my recent activity right here. Then I'm gonna go to the comments of my most recent post, which is this LinkedIn Live where you guys are all active. And in the LinkedIn Live, I'm going to drop this comment to this particular contribution. So it's a really long comment, as you can see. Do you see how long the comment is? I'm gonna press post. You guys can later go there and click on it and see the contribution. You can like on it if you want. But the key is so you understand how to use collaborative articles. Okay. If you enjoyed this, say wow. This was just a quick little tip. If you enjoyed this, say wow in the chat. I'm curious to know who enjoyed this contribution. I'm gonna stop sharing my screen for just a moment cuz I want to impress something upon you. You are an expert. I want you to commit to increasing your expertise in a particular topic. And I want you to commit to sharing your expertise with the world. Just because you have more to learn, it doesn't mean that you don't already have that expertise, that you don't already have a certain level of expertise. And you sharing that expertise with the world will help you also research that expertise and help you be able to become an even greater thought leader in that industry. To be recognized by LinkedIn as a top contributor, a top voice inside LinkedIn, is a significant accomplishment. And you do that by contributing to collaborative articles. And today I showed you how to do that. So I want you to start sharing your expertise, commit to doing at least one collaborative comment per day. It doesn't take an hour. Just put it as part of your workflow. It literally takes less than a minute to add a collaborative comment and to even find that. If you go to linkedin.com/advice, You can find the category, the subcategory, the article that you want, add your perspective, have Evvy AI help you draft it, customize it, and then boom, there you go. All right, now some of you have asked me, they said, Joe, how do I create an event on LinkedIn and then share that event? You guys want me to show you? Write event in the chat if you want me to show you how to create an event on LinkedIn and then how to be able to invite a 1,000 of your connections to that event every single week. Every week you can invite up to 1,000 connections to your event. So just write event in the chat and I'm gonna show you how to do that. We actually have something called the LinkedIn Influencer Summit coming up, and the LinkedIn Influencer Summit brings together 8 of the top LinkedIn influencers to share insights. It's happening on January 17th. So I want to invite you to join. Just write influencer in the chat if you want to join that Influencer Summit, and I will share a link with you to the Influencer Summit. Curious to know how many of you are interested in that. Very powerful tools. We're sharing very, very powerful tools with you guys here. And my goal is to educate you in a simple way on the 52 different things that you can do on LinkedIn to be more successful. You don't need to do everything on LinkedIn, but if you learn 52 skills on LinkedIn over the course of a year, you'll become a LinkedIn expert, which will allow you to be able to start leveraging the platform more effectively. So I can cover those 52 and go through them. I don't have the time to do that now because I have a sales call in about 10 minutes, but I want to show you how to do events. If you guys are interested in learning how to do events, just write event in the chat. Also let me know what is your expertise if you haven't posted it already. So Joseph said influencer, Mike said event, Renee said influencer and events. So let me show you. Okay, so a lot of you are interested in the event thing, so let me share my screen real quick and show you how to do that. Right now. All right, so let's get into it. All right, so I just shared my screen, so hopefully you can see my screen. I'm also going to share my face next to my screen, and the reason I share my face next to my screen is so that when I make these little clips later— I'm going to turn this into clips— the AI can take my voice and my big face instead of just my little face and turn that into a clip. So maybe you've seen my video clips before, but I take these LinkedIn Lives, I paste them into an AI tool and it automatically just makes videos for me, these little clips that I then share on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and so on. And I'm gonna make a collection of 1,000 videos that my team can put into another AI tool to just kind of blast social media with it and be able to get me a ton of exposure for my personal brand. And I'm doing that because this year I'm committed to 244 LinkedIn Lives. in order for me to create all that content. So stay tuned. This is my 4th LinkedIn Live out of 244 that I'm doing. And it's all about consistency. Getting to 100,000 followers on LinkedIn is all about consistency, just like it was getting to 10,000 followers on LinkedIn, just like it was to getting to 20,000, to 30,000, to 40,000 followers. It's all about showing up consistently on the platform, engaging with people authentically, leaving comments, posting, Sending messages, building real relationships, connecting with people. If you do that, you're going to start getting more exposure and you're going to be that thought leader that you need to be. Okay. So go to linkedin.com/events, E-V-E-N-T-S. Okay. So I go to linkedin.com/events and it loads the LinkedIn events page. Do you see that? It says events on top and then it says create an event on the top right. You see that? I'm going to click on create an event and then I get a little popup that pops up. I click on upload a cover image. So I created this cover image with Canva this morning. Okay, I used a tool called Canva. I did it 16 by 9, 16 inches by 9 inches. So it made it into this. I can add alt text to it, describe the image. So I could write LinkedIn Influencer Summit 2024 at influencersummit.com. 2024.com. Okay, I'm gonna copy this so I have it in my clipboard. I'm gonna press apply. Now I have this here and it even has an alt text. An alt text is when you lean over the photo, if the photo doesn't load or somebody can't see cuz they have a, a vision impairment, that's the issue. Okay, event format. So what is it gonna be? It's gonna be an external link. What's the event name? LinkedIn Influencer Summit 2024. When is it gonna be? It's gonna be at 2:00 PM Eastern. So Eastern time, 2:00 PM. So I'm gonna go down here, I'm gonna choose 2:00 PM. You see, you can choose the time of the event, 2:00 PM. When does it end? It's gonna end at 6:00 PM. So I'm gonna write, it's actually gonna end at 5, but I'll just put 6:00 PM here. When is it gonna be? It's gonna be on the 17th and it's gonna end on the 17th. The external link is linkedininfluencersummit2024.com. And the description is LinkedIn Influencer Summit 2024.com, bringing together the latest influencers on LinkedIn. Okay, now I already wrote a whole description about this. I'm gonna bring together Shay Rowbottom. I'm gonna bring Judy Hayes. I'm gonna bring Esty Rand, Esty Star. I'm gonna bring Jason Osborne. I'm gonna bring, uh, Mac Laubscher. I'm gonna bring Adam Holland. You see that? These are the people that I'm bringing. I'm gonna bring Ivana. Let's see, Ivana T. See, these are the people that I'm bringing. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and then me, Joe Apfelbaum. Okay. So these are the speakers for the event. Okay. I'm also gonna have Brynn come for a few minutes and share. Brynn Tillman. I'm gonna press next. And now it asks me, what is this all about? I'm gonna write a post that attaches to this event. So I already wrote a post about this on LinkedIn. So where do I go to get my post? So I'm just gonna log into Evvy AI real quick and I'm gonna go to my saved items. I'm gonna click on see all saved items. You see, I left a lot of comments over here. I sent invitations, replies, posts. Okay. Did you know that the algorithm changed in 2024? So I'm gonna copy this cuz I already created this. So I'm going to copy this post over here. I'm going to go to Postwriter and I'm going to tighten this up. Co-host from Shay Rowbottom, who grew our followers and Judy. We also hear him from Havana, CEO, Influencer Summit. Okay, so now I'm going to click on GPT-4. I'm going to select my persona. I'm going to hit generate. And it's going to rewrite it. It's gonna rewrite this post and it's going to provide value and it's gonna take a little bit of an analytical tone to it. So as you can see, I am putting this together for you here. I'm gonna stop sharing. I'm gonna share this like this so you can see the full screen. So this is the PostWriter goal, tone, persona. Um, I copied and pasted from, from LinkedIn, from, I don't know, from my Evvy AI history. And now it's generating the post for me in the background. Then once it generates the post, I'm simply going to click right over here and copy and paste the post into here. And then I'm gonna go ahead and press post here, and it's going to post this together with the event attached to it. Okay. I'm gonna press copy now. I just wrote up the whole post using Evie AI. I'm gonna go back into LinkedIn. I'm gonna paste it. Did you know that the LinkedIn algorithm changed in September? Or just a few insights. I'm the co-host, some of those influential personalities from Shay Rowbottom. Okay, so I'm gonna tag her to Judy's Insights. Ivana. I'm gonna tag Ivana here. We'll share insights. Adam H. You see I'm tagging different people. I'm gonna delete this. I'm gonna put Mac L and then Jason Osborne. Okay, I still have to tag people. That still takes time, and I still have to read everything. I would love to hear from you. I'm going to put in this particular hashtag here. I'm going to put the business one here. Let's start the conversation below. Post. Okay, and I just posted this right over here. Okay. So I'm gonna do not now. I'm gonna go into my recent posts. I'm gonna click on view profile. So I just shared with you how to do this event. Really simple. I used Evie AI to write the post for me. Makes my life so much easier. Now I'm gonna click on show all posts and I'm gonna go to that event page right here. So you see view event. So I'm gonna first click on the 3 dots and I'm gonna hit copy link to post. I'm gonna click on view event. And now I have the event right here. So the event link is right here. And if I wanna invite people, I can click on Manage and I can click Invite Attendees. So here are the attendees, 1 person, invite, no pending attendees. You see that? Share, refeed, copy link. So if I click on Invite under Share, now I can select people. So I can select people from a particular company, a particular school, a particular location, So for example, if I want to see my connections in California, I can go like this. I can select all these people and I can do invite 50. See, I just sent 50 invitations. I click on share, invite. I want to select people from New York. I press show people, I select, and I press invite 50. Can you guys see what I'm doing here? Share, invite. I can select other things like people in a particular industry. So for example, advertising, show results. Now I can load more people by just scrolling down. You see that? I'm gonna load more people. These are people in the advertising industry that I'm inviting. So as you scroll down, it keeps loading more and more people. And then you click on this. You see it says 114, invite. I'm going to invite these 114 people just like that. So that's what I'm doing. Um, it says something went wrong here. Um, I would recommend inviting 50 people at a time. That's what I would recommend doing. Um, hopefully this was valuable to you. I'm gonna stop sharing my screen now because I have to hop on a call, but I wanna say thank you very much for joining me here today. Appreciate it. I'll see you on the next LinkedIn Live. Hit the repost button to let more people know about this, and I'll see you guys very, very soon.
