evyAI Community Conversation Friday Friends

Joe Apfelbaum and community members discuss growing evyAI into a 1,000-person LinkedIn network using a product ladder from $5 to $100,000, inspired by Russell Brunson. They introduce the Persona Discovery Framework to identify high-opportunity niches, and share how LinkedIn outreach converted a ServPro vendor relationship with 2,600 franchisees.

And it comes with a 30-minute consult. So again, it's just a quick way to get a feel and get to know each other and see if it's a match or if there's any way I could help them.
It's a good, it's a good idea called a lead-in product. So we have a $5 product, a $29 product, a $99 product, a $200 product, $1,000, $2,000, $5,000, $100,000. So I think Russell Brunson, have you guys heard of Russell Brunson? He calls it the product ladder in his book called DotCom Secrets. So there's something called the product ladder where you start at the bottom and you have your tiny little product and then you get bigger and bigger and bigger. He recommends starting at the end with your biggest product and then making your way down, down, down, down as needed. Because otherwise, if you start closing tiny little products, you're not going to make any money. But your tiny little products is just to get people in the door. So that's something that—
Right.
That's something that's super interesting. Super interesting conversation. By the way, I just turned on LinkedIn Live. So if you guys want to stay here, I know some of you might have to go at the top of the hour. But if you guys want to stay here and hang and just talk about stuff, just so you know, we're on LinkedIn Live now.
Awesome.
Hello, LinkedIn. All right. So are we sharing gratefulness and then we ask something, Barbara?
So the— we've been all over the map. And so I think Gary and Joe will appreciate this is that we We talked about— this is kind of a loosey-goosey group, right? But the point has been, we— there's a lot of value in being together, particularly on Friday, looking at where we've been and figuring out where we're going. And the atmosphere this week has been about, you know, last week we just celebrated Thanksgiving. How were we preparing for the holidays? And what are we bringing forward this week? With our businesses. So that, that's really what we've been talking about. So, Darren, you're up next, and then, and Shuma and Jen.
Thank you.
Thank you. So I, I think, like many have said before me, this is a problem when you're at the bottom of the lineup. I came for the tool, but I stayed for the community.
Mm-hmm.
Um, and it's an interesting community. Uh, it's one that I can genuinely tell you that I've learned more in the time that I've been in this community than probably a couple years before that, uh, with, with various different things that I paid a whole lot more for. Um, and it's a part family. Um, My youngest was teasing me. I think it was last Friday. We're playing flag football, and I am a quitter. I don't know who said that, but while I was ahead with no injuries, I came to Barb's post-party, so I did not have to endure any more tag football risk. You know, because I for me, I have three families. I have the family I'm born in, and I just I don't have a choice. This is my second family, and my third family is my cigar lounge.
I love it.
Right. We have the family by origin and then the family by choice.
You got it. Yeah.
And so this has been, you know, when we started this group, it was really just a couple of us. And it's been so fascinating. Latham was part of that first initial group, in fact, and it's kind of fun to see how we've evolved and how we've changed. how we are bringing ourselves to the table, because that's so important to bring ourselves into our businesses. So this has just been a wonderful, wonderful ride, and I get to thank Joe for that, for allowing me to lead this group and to create this kind of atmosphere, which has been just so positive. And Shuma, you're next, and then Joe, we're going to let you close out for us today.
So I'll tell a story. Joe got me on a call after I attended his LinkedIn engagement of the— I don't know what he did. Some big— all the big LinkedIn influencers were on it in March. And then we connected and he told me, this is the offer I have and I'm going to get over with the offer. I said, I can't join now. I only have time after August because I'm going to be in India for the whole summer. He's like, it's up to you. Offers here, offers gone. So I kicked myself and I took the offer and I joined. was not engaged with the community for 4 months before I actually started being a part of these conversations and showing up. And I was like, wish I had changed that. But, you know, I feel like I'm a part of this family now, and I'm bringing more people to the community, and it's growing beautifully. Every session I attend with Joe, with others who are so active here, I learned so much, and I feel like this was the best investment I did in 2025, and 2026 is going to be a rockstar year. So thank you, Joe. Thank you for everyone who shows up for each other. And I feel like I have so many resources within the community. Like, if I need some accounting help, I can reach out to Jane. If I need To get a book written, I can reach out to Tom. If I need to figure out how to preserve pictures of my, you know, loved ones, I can reach out to Philip. So many people here have different skills that I don't need to go anywhere else. I can figure out on school who does what, and I can just reach out to them.
That's powerful.
That's beautiful.
That is just such a testimonial to Evie and to Joe and the community that we're all creating together. So beautiful. Hey, Joe.
Oh, thank you. Thank you. I just want to say that my vision, and for all of you that, you know, my team asked me to confirm my vision for 2026, is to bring together 1,000 engaged LinkedIn users. And it's really up to the community leaders here because this is basically your community. What I want to build, and I, and you guys see from my posts, I have so many people in my life already. I don't need to be adding a community or whatever. I'm part of so many different communities. Like EO has over 20,000 CEOs and I'm part of the Executives Association. I'm part of so many different things. But the one common denominator that we have is that we're all engaged on LinkedIn. And so finding people that— and I was telling this to the CMO of Alignable. I was like, try to find 1,000 people that are actually engaged on the platform and they like networking. Like both of those things, because a lot of people that have jobs, they don't love networking. A lot of business owners don't even know what networking even is, that this is even a thing. And so understanding that, A, I love networking and I love building relationships. I love supporting and helping people. And B, I love using LinkedIn and I want to be very engaged and support each other and leave comments. And I want to understand the algorithm and I want to understand how to get clients and all this stuff. Finding 1,000 of those people and putting them together is a very unique thing that it's a lot of work and it's a lot of effort and not one person can do it alone. Because one person can bring together maybe 50 people or 100 people. To bring 1,000 people, that means you would need to enable 100 people to each bring in their 10. That's the idea. So I want you each to have your own tribes of people, and I believe that's the power is going to be in the numbers. When we have these types of events and 1,000 people show up to it, that's when I know the dream came true. I'll be like, wow. And it's not really about me, it's about you guys. You know, it's about Or we have 10 or 20 or 30 of these types of events every week. And then there's a bunch of different Barbaras doing it and you guys could all lead with each other and support each other and so on. So that's my vision. It's really up to you guys also to kind of like build it because it's, it's, it's all our community together. It's not like it's the Joe Show. It's like, it's all of us together. I'm driving it and making sure that it happens, but it's all of us together doing this and we're all benefiting from it. I think it was— Was it Arlene that said that since she started, she added an extra $150,000 in revenue to her business or $275,000 or something ridiculous? But it makes me so happy to see her, those numbers. You want to tell everybody what you said yesterday?
Yes.
Um, so I started, I'm very intimidated with technology. I'm married to, uh, a product—
We can't hear you. I think you just cut out. Do you want to try to mute and unmute or something? Did everyone— did it cut out for everybody?
It cut out for me too.
Okay, it cut out for everyone. Arlene, do you want to start again? It's still cut out.
Still cut out.
Maybe you want to leave and come back or something, or— your mic— yeah, your mic is not muted, but we can't hear you. We can't— it's Theresa, you're muted. Theresa.
I was just saying to Arlene, you're not muted, so did it jump to your headphones or something? Because you're not muted.
You're not muted, but maybe maybe the settings of your mic changed to something else. Maybe something else was pulled out or something, but all of a sudden it just stopped and it doesn't show you're muted. So that's that's an interesting thing. So if you want to leave and come back and try it, you could.
I'm gonna be anticipating what you want to say.
Yeah, yeah.
It's a cliffhanger. I want to hear.
It's definitely a cliffhanger.
Yeah.
to see what's going on. But anyway, what Arlene was basically saying is that she joined 2 and a half years ago, she didn't know what to expect. And since then she was able to significantly generate more revenue in her business. And part of it has to do with the AI Business Development Circle. Part of that has to do with the Heavy AI community. Part of it has to do with her learning how to use LinkedIn properly and start getting conversations. But think about it this way. If you guys had 1,000 people in your world, even now that you have 100, 200, 300, whatever, But if you had 1,000 people in your world that knew you, liked you, and trusted you, you guys would be able to make any amount of money. It was like, think about it from that perspective. You might already have 1,000 connections, but they don't already know you, like you, and trust you. But if you had 1,000 people that knew you, liked you, and trusted you, you would have an unlimited amount of impact that you could make. You could impact a million people. So that's, that's kind of like what the thought is that I want all of you to really buy into. And the way that I know that you guys buy into it really is just to bring 10 of your ideal clients into the system, into our world. So if Barbara was doing these events every day, every Friday at 11 anyway, Barbara would benefit if she had 10 of her ideal clients that she brought in to this event. And then we would all benefit from those clients as well. If Arlene brought in 10 of her ideal clients into the community, And she brought them into this 11 o'clock meeting or to the meeting that happens on Thursday or Friday or whenever, then her clients would benefit, but we would all benefit from her 10. Same thing with Philip, same thing with Gary, same thing with Latha. I'm not saying bring in 1,000 customers. I'm not saying fill it up with 1,000, but bring in 10. Who are your 10? Within our community, who are your 10? Who are the 10 that you brought in that are your ideal customers that you brought in that come to your own events? You know what I mean? So you could all be a leader. You could all have 10. 10 in Judaism is called a minyan. M-I-N-Y-A-N. Minyan. So it's different than the— but I'm obsessed with minions. But what happens is you can't pray unless you have 10 people together. That's the concept of a minyan. So it's powerful. Think about how many people we have over here. We have 10 people on video right now, if I count correctly, including me. We have a minion. We have a minion and we have 10 people watching on LinkedIn Live and possibly another 10 on Facebook and possibly another 10 on YouTube and possibly another 10 on Twitter because we're live across the board. I want you to think about that in your head right now. What would happen if you had even 10 of your clients be part of our world every single day? Like, think about that. So that's what I would like to create for all you guys. That would be such an epic thing if Darren Cherry brought 10 of his ideal clients into the game and Latha and Anshuma and Marlene. And then you would get paid probably double or more than whatever you paid for Evie AI for the next several years anyway. So it's like a financial, it's a good financial decision to do that. But also those 10 clients will end up becoming better clients for you as well. So I'm, I'm out there bringing at least 10 new every single week, bringing in 10 new people every single week. But I think you guys could bring in 10 people in 2026. And if you don't have your list of 10, I highly recommend you prepare that. Does anybody have a problem preparing their list of 10 ideal clients that are engaged on LinkedIn? It's the engaged on LinkedIn. Most of my clients aren't engaged on LinkedIn. Yeah. So how would you define your ideal client so that we could all help you find that person that's engaged on LinkedIn? That's your ideal client. How would you define your ideal client? So for example, for me, it's a CEO of a restoration company in the United States. I just defined that last week because I'm constantly redefining it. You know what I mean? So I decided CEO of a restoration company in the United States. So I'll give you, I'll show you if you want to see how, I could even share my screen just to kind of show you how I find CEOs of restoration companies in the United States that are engaged on LinkedIn. But I'll just show you how you can see who's engaged on LinkedIn. Do you see if I search for CEO restoration company, you see, I just did the search. If you click on people and then you click on second degree, that means people you're not connected to, and then you click on locations. I'm going to type in New York.
Actually, you have first degree. Do you mean second?
Yeah, I meant to do second, but let me just see if I have anyone in New York. Look, I have people in New York, but I'm going to do second. These are people I'm not currently connected to. That are C that have the word CEO of restoration company. So in New York, so I'm going to control click on some of these, and then let's determine which ones are active and which ones are not active. First of all, Damon Gersh, I got to talk to him ASAP. Would love to chat with you.
I have a question, Joe.
Yeah.
How did you come up with? you want to focus on restoration companies. That's where my struggle is. How can I have so many things? And for example, my AI automation, customized AI automation, I want to come up with who I should be targeting. It's not just making a tool and selling. We are going to the business, helping them to customize everything so that they can save money instead of purchasing 10 tools and giving a subscription every month. We'll take it as a project and help them. That's my idea. So What do you think I should do?
Um, so I have a— I'm gonna switch to this tab over here. I have a, a thing that I posted in this community. Um, I'm not sure if I posted it on our community, but I know I posted it in this community. I'm gonna click on View Profile. I'm gonna click on Posts, and I'm gonna scroll here, uh, just to kind of see what I posted over here. I posted something, a complete guide to uncovering your ideal client dreams. 10 tools running my entire stack. I'm staying, I'm subscribed. Top 9 on Banana Posts. Um, let's see. Are you making money with AI? I don't know, maybe they deleted it. Did they delete it? They may have deleted it. Hang on a second. Um, I thought I posted it here. Oh, oh, here you go. Yeah, yeah, this is it. AI Market Research, your complete guide to uncovering your ideal client's pains, problems, and So this doesn't teach you how to find your ideal client. This tells you how to identify their pains, goals, dreams, and fears. Okay, so the way that I would figure out my ideal client is if you're in Evvy AI, Mm-hmm. and you are, and you go to our community, we have something called a people framework that you fill out. You fill out something called the Persona Discovery Framework. You identify what industry connections you have, what is your expertise, what markets you have experience with, what you feel has the most potential, what communities you're part of, what niches do you feel you'll do well in, what age a person is that you want to target, their titles, what genders, their income levels, and then what their thoughts are, how they— what they're busy with, what their behaviors are, what publications they read. You basically, you write all this down and then when you press analyze target market, it'll give you very specific target markets to pick, um, and really zero it down in a very meaningful way for you, Latha. So this way you don't have to think about—
Sure.
I think about it much. So this is all available inside our community for you. Did you fill out this yet?
Do you mind putting the link? Yeah, it's very good actually. Can you put that link in our chat if you don't mind?
Yeah, I don't mind this. So this is an Evvy AI Pro, um, an Evvy AI Pro feature. So what I'm gonna do is I'm actually gonna go to the school community and show you where to find it. If you go to the Engaged Thought Leader community and you click on classroom, and then you click on LinkedIn strategy, and then you see where it says directory of special Joe links.
Mm-hmm.
That's where it is. So I'll put that link in the chat so that you get access to that. You see that? I just shared that link with you.
Yeah.
Thank you. So that's kind of like where it is. So this is what you get. This is your primary targets. You see the segment, the description. So over here, it's telling me for EvAI, I should target sales trainers. That's why that's what I'm targeting for EvAI. Recruiters, financial services professionals, and B2B sales teams. You see that? Those are my 4 targets. And this is the highest opportunity right here. You see? Very high, high, medium high, and high. So if I was going to focus on 1 out of 4, this is the 4 I should focus. You see this one?
Yeah.
And then it kind of tells me everything. It tells me their ideal client profile, their pains, their whatever, buying behaviors, suggested segments. It tells me exactly what to search for. These are the keywords I need to search for, the locations I should focus on, the groups that they're part of. It gives me a connection note. It gives me a networking strategy. It tells me the referral network of who those people are. It gives me a 30-day action plan. All this is done for you, by the way. All this is done for you with Evvy AI. So I'm gonna stop sharing my screen for a second just to emphasize that you're not alone in this, Latha. Most people have this problem that they can't figure out their target market. So I would just answer all those questions if you can, and then give them to AI either through our framework or just put it into any AI you want. And then brainstorm with the AI to figure out your most ideal target market. And you test it out. I always say, test it out for 90 days. That's my recommendation. Pick a target market, test it. I have so many target markets that I tested out for 90 days. For example, I tried to do dentists at one point early in my career. And the second we started working with dentists, we realized we don't want to do business with dentists because they're like, they pull teeth out. You know, it's like pulling teeth. It's like literally like working with dentists is like pulling teeth. I love that. I just came up with that.
So where did you put the link for that, Joe?
I put it in, I put it in the Zoom chat, but I sent it to you privately, but I'll put it in the main Zoom chat for everyone. Oh, thank you. Yeah, I sent it to you privately, but I'll put it in for everybody. So that's—
This is awesome.
Yeah. And so, so using the persona discovery framework, that's how you'll discover, your ideal target market and your centers of influence just by answering those questions, hitting submit. And then we have a prompt that we run that automatically will help you pick the best target market. But you can't have AI tell you the best target market unless you give it a history. So I ran one of those versions for Ajax Union and I said, this is what, who, these are the companies we've worked with in the past. This is what we're good at doing. This is the type of company we are thinking about wanting to work with. And here's our experience. So One of the companies that we were very successful with is a restoration company. And for that restoration company, we were so successful in fact that they ended up selling their restoration company to a private equity firm because we had such a low cost per acquisition for their leads that they were able to expand their business to multiple locations. And we have a testimonial from the CEO that says, if you have a restoration company, Ajax Union is your secret weapon. But we've serviced 1,100 clients in 400 industries. So why would we pick restoration companies? But I ran all the industries through AI and it told me restoration has the least competition versus the reward for what I want to do. And they have something called feast and famine issues. They give me all the reasons of why. And so I ended up just picking that industry after Reviewing that with my team and looking at the pros and cons and comparing it to other industries, I think it was last year or the year before we did HVAC. We were not successful with it. We were successful at getting calls and people on the phone and da da da, but the HVAC was is a very difficult market to crack, and there's a lot of people going after it, and a lot of them are already getting bought up very fast by private equity firms, and it's just becoming very difficult. So. We decided to put a pause on the HVAC and now we're going to move to restoration and try to see if we can get a few restoration companies in the door. And right now I have, I just picked it last week. I have over 10 calls with restoration CEOs.
Hmm.
And you saw that guy, Damon Gersh, that I messaged last night. I spoke to a roofer that has 150 employees and I said, hey, thanks for connecting me with the restoration company in Long Island, the number one restoration company in Long Island. He connected me with them. I said, thank you for the email intro. I was like, what made you think of him? He's like, what do you mean? The guy that sold his restoration company, Damon Gersh, is my mentor, and he mentors me once a week and we talk. And I was like, oh my God, he sold his restoration company? He's like, yeah, he made millions. I was like, you think he knows other restoration companies? He's like, he knows them all. I was like, do you think I should— he's like, call him. And you saw on LinkedIn, I already sent Damon Gersh a message asking him if he knows that guy Andrew Goldberg. And he had replied to me on Wednesday. So now when you saw that in the DM in front of me, I said, I just spoke to Vinny last night and he said we need to talk because you're mentoring him. Can we get on the phone? Because he knows Andrew Goldberg really well. Now I already got an intro to Andrew Goldberg from Howard White, but if Damon sold his company for millions and he makes the intro to Andrew too, Andrew's gonna have to talk to me. So now I have like, I'm getting the, the deep, the guy who's deeply into it to get Oh, and last night I spoke to a company called ServPro who's already a client of Evvy AI. Do you know how many franchises ServPro has?
A lot.
They have 2,600.
Wow.
And I spoke to the woman who wants to make me their vendor officially on the vendor website and then have me present to all 2,600 companies on what we do. And then she also told me a few other tips, insider tips, and she said she's going to put me front and center with the main vendor manager person there. And I was like, that's so nice. And then she gave me like a 2-minute hug and I was like, wow, this is exciting. So that was really nice. Like, you know, she really like hugged me financially and physically. It was really nice.
And Joe, these companies also need coaches. Barbara and I are right here in the community.
That's right. So I'm going to bring, I'm going to bring these people into the community as Whether it's— there's so many different ways that this thing's gonna blow up, whether it's through GoDaddy, whether it's through Alignable, whether it's through ServPro in the restoration industry. This is— we are poised to do some big things, and we haven't even been conceived yet as a business for what's gonna happen coming soon. So we're right at the beginning, beginning, beginning, and you guys are the experts and you guys are on top of the game. So just keep doing what you're doing, keep meeting, keep adding value to each other and see what happens.
And Joe, I'm here for AI automation, any workflows customized. I don't think anybody else is doing that in our community. I'm here to help.
Yeah. So, so definitely that's awesome. Yeah. There's, there's, I think there's Ian is doing stuff like that and a few other people, but you know, like definitely connect and, and, and maybe even have events around that, you know, like, but, but the idea is in terms of like the target market thing, if you haven't picked a target market yet, Then just pick one. Don't worry, don't stress out about what it is. You might be, you know, this guy Jason Cement who does, um, has a marketing agency for 20 years. He comes to our events. He's an Heavy AI, uh, pre, uh, Pro Bundle Plus client, whatever. Jason Cement decided to pick up Jason— not Cement, his name is Jason something else. He picks cement companies. That's who he picked as his target market. Cement companies, companies that do cement contracting. So it's just very interesting. Yeah. So if anybody has a problem with it, come to office hours, come to our strategy sessions. We're always happy to help. Email us, let us know where you're stuck, or post in the community saying, hey, this is my experience. I don't know what to do. Who can help me? And maybe we'll even do like a roundtable about it.
But if you spoke about, uh, some of these digital products, the value chain of them, how do we create A sustainable email sequence along with it that makes people open it, click, and then buy.
The way that I like to do email sequences, it depends on the type of person that I'm targeting, but I like to establish a tremendous amount of curiosity on their point. A tremendous amount of curiosity. So think about it. You're getting an email from a stranger. What would make you want to reply to that email? I delete 99% of the emails that I get. 99%.
Yeah.
So think about your own behavior. Why would you open up an email and why would you even respond to the email? So if somebody actually, if you got somebody to actually open up an email, usually it has to do because they know who you are. So that's why I build rapport through LinkedIn and then I'll send an email, but the email has to be A type of email that A creates curiosity in the person, B shows that you paid attention to them, D actually adds value to them. It actually adds value. So for example, I took a thousand people from the AI Advantage community, the Tony Robbins community, and I emailed a thousand people. But instead of me emailing them, say, "Hey, do you want to learn how to use LinkedIn?" Da da da da. I didn't say any of that. You know what I said? I said, I'm part of the AI Advantage community together with you. And I was wondering, have you been using the community? I actually wrote a bunch of nano banana prompts. I'm happy to send them to you inside the community. Let me know if you wanna see them.
People are like, yeah, send it my way, Joe.
Anybody that even saw it, even that even saw it replied and said, I would love to see your nano banana prompts. And then I sent them a link for inside the community. And then they went and commented on the post inside the community. Now all the other people in the community started seeing that post more. You know what I mean? And one of them became a Bundle+ client from that.
Cool.
So that's, that's kind of like the idea. It looks like Basil wants me to take her for a walk. She's barking right next to me. I don't know if you guys could hear the bark barks. So I'm gonna hop off. Thank you guys very much. Appreciate you. And I'll see you guys online.
