LinkedIn Profile Roast for Steve Nicholls

Hey, this is Joe Apfelbaum, CEO of Ajax Union and founder of Evvii AI, and I'm excited to be doing this profile review. Steve sent me his profile, and if you want a profile review for your profile, put it in the comments below and I may just feature you on my YouTube channel. So this is Steve. Steve is the author and the AI opportunity. He's located in England. I see he has a link to his newsletter. Okay, so let me tell you what you can improve here. Number 1, is you can verify your profile. Go to linkedin.com/verify, you'll get a little verification check. Also, from your mobile phone, you can leave a 10-second voice note that would appear here. And if you put a custom pronoun, you go to edit your name, you'll have a button that says custom pronoun. You can actually put your keyword here right next to your name. In addition, I wouldn't just say newsletter, I would say what the newsletter is about to make it more call-to-action friendly. So those are the couple of changes that I would put over here. If you scroll down a little bit, your about section's okay. I see that you have your contact information. No need to include a bunch of hashtags. That's not going to help you at all. I would just remove all those hashtags and make it more call-to-action friendly and tell people what to do, leave testimonials and stuff like that, and break this down into different sections. Evvii does a great job of doing that. Your services page is okay. When I click on show all, I see that you do not have any recommendations here. I recommend getting 5-star recommendations on your services page. They'll show up very nicely on your profile. Highly, highly recommend doing that. The other thing that I would tell you to do is to make sure that you have a video or a main graphic on your services page. I do see you have some stuff here, but you can actually upload one video there, which makes it look really, really cool. I love that you're featuring stuff. I would tell you to get more engagement on your featured posts. So try to get at least 100 engagements on your top one. I would have a video. I would have an article and I would have your newsletter featured here. That's the top 3. I wouldn't send people to other places. I wouldn't put your document as your main one. I would put your posts as your main one so people can engage with your posts easier. And also you have many post types that are missing here. So you can have articles and newsletter and video and lots of other things that you're missing that you haven't put over here as your post type. If you go to experience, that's great. You put a lot of details here in your experience. You can actually add additional roles here. And for this one over here, it looks like you're missing a company page. So I would attach a company page to that to make it look good. I would also add a blurb for your education, which is great for SEO friendliness. And I would get more endorsement on your skills. The last time you got a recommendation was 2016. So I recommend that you get at least one recommendation per month if possible. And the best way to get recommendations is to give people recommendations. So make sure that you give some of your connections recommendations. My goal is to figure out what it is that you need in your life and support you to be able to get there. So one of the ways that I do that is by reading people's profiles, learning more about them. I see that you're reposting a lot over here on LinkedIn. My recommendation is to actually post instead of repost, because when you post, people can actually properly leave comments and also it ranks better on, in the algorithm. I see a lot of reposting going on over here. I'm not a big fan of reposts. Reposts don't really get action. So if I go back, I see a repost, repost, repost, repost, repost, repost, repost, but no posts going on over here. So that's not that great to do that. If you want to post something, just download this and then repost and then post it, actually create a post instead of just hitting the repost button. Hopefully this adds value to you. I'm just going to go ahead and I'm just trying to find an actual post so I can leave a comment. I'm having a hard time finding an actual post because you reposted so many times. Looks okay. So you could have a lot of different personas for who you want to be. In this case, I'm actually going to drop the Evvii demo so you can watch it.
