Joe Apfelbaum breaks down networking into three things you can share: who you know, what you know, and how you feel. Sharing your contacts, expertise, and genuine enthusiasm turns you into someone people trust and want to work with.
Chapters
When you're networking with relationships, you can share who you know. We all have 50, 100 people in our life that we know. We can also share what we know. We all have experiences, expertise, hobbies, passions, things that we know really, really well that can help other people in our life. And we all have emotions. If you're a human being, you have feelings. And so, if you feel really good about something or you feel really good about someone, sharing that adds value. The key is thinking to yourself, how can I add value to the people in my life? And other people need to be connected with people, with ideas, and they need to be connected and trust you by understanding how you feel. And when you can share those 3 things, who you know, what you know, and how you feel, now you're connecting. Now you're networking. And now you're building real relationships.
