When I started my business, I did not even know that networking was a thing. I focused more on prospecting, picking up the phone, calling potential clients, and then qualifying them to see if they have any interest in buying my services. I was getting lower quality clients by doing that. And for those that are starting out in business, you got to start somewhere. You need cash. But if you want to take your business to the next level, you need higher quality clients, clients that pay you based on value, not based on you being the lowest cost provider. Clients that trust you. Trusted clients come from relationships. And if you leverage networking instead of prospecting, you're much more likely to get those higher quality clients. That's not to say you shouldn't be prospecting. Prospecting is really important. But if you leverage networking as well, you're going to build fulfilling relationships that are higher value, more long-term, and it'll help you keep growing your business. I talk about the difference between networking, marketing, and prospecting in my book, High Energy Networking. So grab your copy today on Amazon.
