Hi, this is Joe Houghton and this is Lightroom Bytes number 2. In this video I'm going to show you how to add your personal details to all your images when you import them into Lightroom. This is important because if you distribute your images via social media, for instance, then having your details embedded in your photo means that you can assert your own copyright, and it also proves that you took the photo. So here's how we do it. You go into the Library module and then click on Import, and we have the normal import dialog. You need to be over in the right-hand side of the dialog, and you see where I have Metadata, Joe Houghton 2020. So let's set up a, a set of metadata for me for next year. So we double-click on the little down arrow and go down to New, and I'm going to call this one Joe Houghton 2022. Now Basic Info, Camera Info, IPTC Content, you can ignore all those. We need to be in IPTC Copyright and Creator. So Copyright, I'm just going to put in Copyright Joe Houghton. Copyright status: copyrighted. All rights reserved. And if you have a website where you have a page with your copyright information, licensing, that kind of stuff, you'd put it in here. I don't, so I'm going to leave that blank. And then in IPTC Creator, you put in as many of your own details as you want embedding in the image. Okay, so I would normally put in my town and country, my email address, and my website. Okay, so as much or as little as you want in there, but that's enough for people to get hold of me if they want to look in for the metadata. So I hit Create. Now I've already got a preset with that name, so I've got to choose another. So I'll just call it 2022B. There we are, that'll be a unique name. Create. And now there it is. Okay, so you can choose any of your presets by just clicking on the down arrow and choosing from the list. You see I've got some for Penny there and for myself going back a number of years. So I can just choose whichever one I want, and then it will apply all that information to every image that you choose and then import using the import dialog.
