Today we're going to talk about paper clipping and the 3 reasons why someone might paper clip you. So firstly, what is paper clipping? Paper clipping is the term used when someone randomly keeps popping up sporadically, unexpectedly, with no intention of creating a real connection with you. I believe it's named after Microsoft's virtual assistant who was called Clippy. So why would someone do this? So number one, fear of intimacy, fear of Commitment and emotional vulnerability. They may have insecure attachment style and be emotionally unavailable. Number 2, um, they need validation. If you keep replying or engaging, it validates them without the real need for something more tangible. It can also be linked to power and control. And number 3, lack of self-awareness. They may be indecisive. They may not know what their own feelings are or what they really want or what they really need.
