High yields + large size in cherries

Mike Omeg of Orchard View Cherries in Oregon shows a block two weeks from harvest with both high yields and large fruit. He credits an AEA agronomy team's foliar program and weekly custom fertigation for achieving 8 to 8.5 row cherries, with multiple pounds per branch.

¡Hey! It's Mike Omeg with Orchard View Cherries in The Dalles, Oregon. We're here in one of the blocks that we're really proud of the crop on. You know, we want to have a really nice crop of cherries every year, of course, for our customers to enjoy all throughout the world. But it's really fun to grow some big, beautiful cherries and have a lot of them. One of the challenges in cherries is when you set big yields and have high yields per acre is to get all those cherries being big and beautiful. And I feel like cooperating with the AEA agronomy team and the team here at Orchard View, we've got a great relationship. We work hard to get this fruit big and beautiful so we can get it sold. So we're in a block that's going to be picking in probably about 2 weeks, maybe just over. And I wanted to show just how nice this crop's doing, and hopefully we'll be able to come back here closer to harvest and and see what the results are. But we use an AEA foliar program and we use a program where we put fertigation, we put fertilizers through our irrigation system here with custom blends in both custom blends on the foliage, custom blends through the fertigation, working with the AEA and our team to decide what we do each week. And the results speak for themselves. So we love to see crops like this here where we've got just loads of big, beautiful cherries on, on these branches. There's multiple pounds of cherries here. And let's, let's grab a couple pieces of fruit. So again, we're a few weeks from harvest, probably a little over, and we can see that we're already at 9-row size. Cherries in here. Super happy with it. When we get to harvest, we'll probably be up in the 8 and 8.5 row. But just an update on how nice this crop is looking here using the AEA program. And appreciate it. Thanks.
