It felt like we were feeding more medications and getting more shots for cattle than they were doing any better. But once we made the switch to no-till soybeans, reduced tillage on our corn acres, and once we implemented no-till on all our acres and that it started adding cover crops, there was like— I don't know what year it was, but there was that sweet turning spot where I think our soil started to change for the better. My gut feeling is our soil changed It was healthier. We were harvesting healthier crops, and our grain, corn silage, alfalfa, our forages. And then in return, we were feeding that to our cattle, and we hardly have any veterinary expenses anymore. I'm not saying we don't, but it's nothing, nowhere near what it was 10 years ago. And I can't explain it besides other than it seemed like we fixed the soil and then fixed the cattle.
