Hey farmers! If you followed me and dad for a long time, you know we're huge fans of Advancing Eco-Agriculture, and this year I'm really excited to partner with AEA to show you how we use some of their products here on the farm. And the first one we get out every season is BioCoat Gold. We use this on every single seed that we plant here in Pureland, from the ones that we start as transplants in the garage way early in the season to the ones we direct sow out here like these sunflowers and squash. All the way through our cover crop, we also inoculate with BioCoat Gold. What this does is provide a little bit of nutrition to brand new baby seedlings, but it also provides— look at this list— all of these beneficial soil bacteria that help facilitate nutrient exchange. So your plant is getting more use out of the nutrients in the soil. They live symbiotically with the roots of your plant. So this is like a really fine powder. All you have to do is coat your seeds with it and you're done, which I love. It's so incredibly easy to use. Here to refill my sunflowers. Now this also helps with germination, the BioCoat Gold, but inevitably something nips off some of my sunflowers because they're just too delicious. You see that? Just sprinkle a little bit in. It does not take much at all. The last bag that we had lasted us 2 whole seasons. Once my seeds are coated, Grab my seed, plant it, and I'm done. Now, as soon as that seed sprouts, the root's going to pass through that coating. It's going to become colonized with those microbes, which are going to give it better vigor, and that's going to last throughout the entire life cycle of the plant.
