John Kempf argues that conventional agriculture degrades soil and weakens crops through heavy pesticide use. He says no-till and cover crops help but are too slow, and instead pushes rapid regeneration through targeted nutrition and biostimulants to boost soil biology and pest resistance.

The present agricultural model depends on plants absorbing water soluble ions as their primary source of nutrients. This produces plants which are dependent on pesticides to prevent them from being consumed by diseases or insects. This system causes soil degradation and deteriorating crop health wherever it is adopted. There are some widely advocated but limited solutions towards sustainability, such as no till, the use of COVID crops, and manage livestock grazing. These solutions are effective and they are valuable, but they are not enough. They do not fit all operations and they take too long. To drive a vibrant agricultural future for all growers, we need models that regenerate soil health very quickly, produce crops which are inherently resistant to diseases and insects, and provide an immediate economic return to growers. At advancing ecoagriculture, we use targeted nutrition and biostimulants to hack the system, to harness the crop's photosynthetic engine, and to drive vigorous soil biology. Agriculture is changing fast. Grow healthy plants, regenerate soil now.
