Who had the best ad in the Oscars? For me, it was Dunkin', but the reason why is the most interesting. Great advertising tells stories that connect with current culture, and right now Dunkin' is doing that as well as anyone. For example, their social media campaign featuring Ben Affleck at the drive-through window at Dunkin' is brilliant. People love to see celebrities in ordinary situations. They also love it when real life is featured in ads in really funny ways. This is why their Super Bowl ad with J.Lo and Ben Affleck was so successful. But unlike other advertisers, they didn't decide to just recycle their Super Bowl creative for the Oscars. Instead, Dunkin' chose creative diversity to show a completely different side of the business and to speak to an audience who may not connect with the Super Bowl creative. With their Oscar ad, they also celebrated and supported a number of key factors in America's culture today, such as women empowerment, entrepreneurship, family, hard work, community, and of course, the American dream. And it was all shot within 30 seconds in an authentic, user-generated content type of way. Take a look for yourself.
1979, my mother opened this Dunkin'. People would think that it was my dad's store. I always say our Dunkin' is the social hub of Wellsboro. We're part of the woodwork.
You're back! Glenn, is this your small black coffee? Our donut case. It's a talking piece.
I really enjoyed owning the shop. I almost got fired by my own mother. Here comes somebody. Yep. It's a great business. Dunkin' has provided me with a full life.
It was my grandma's, then my mom's, and now I own it.
