Using the wrong Claude model can cost you time and quality. In this video, I'll show you which model to use for every type of task. At the bottom, in C-tier, I'm putting Haiku 4.5. It's fast, it's cheap, and it's great for quick chatting, brainstorming, or summarizing something short. It's also the lightest on your usage limit. Moving up to B-tier, you've got Sonnet 5. It can code, write, research, and reason really well, and it especially shines when you're doing front-end development. Just know it burns through your usage limit about 3x times faster than Haiku. Next, you've got Opus 4.8, definitely an A-tier model. This is the model you reach for when a problem actually needs deep thinking, like tricky architecture decisions or multi-step reasoning that takes real planning. It uses roughly 70% more tokens than Sonnet, so save it for problems that are genuinely hard enough to deserve it. And finally, in S-tier, you've got Fable-5, which is Anthropic's most capable model yet. It's built for the hardest problem-solving and development work out there. We're covering the details about Fable in our next video, so stay tuned and share this with someone who may need it.
