Thoroughgood bought his first car with a cracked engine block and couldn't drive it. He turned the back seat into a practice space for guitar instead, making something useful out of a broken purchase.
Hey, this is Thoroughgood, and this is my first ride. My first car? My first car didn't run. Everybody else owned a car. I didn't even have a license, but everybody else owned a car, and I bought that, and then when I got it home, I turned it on, it didn't work because it was a crack block. So I used it to practice my guitar in the back seat. That's the only action I could get in the back seat in those days. Did I say that?
