The best social media ads are those that are entertaining and inspiring in some capacity, but at the same time, they promote the product because after all, that's why the brand's paying for it. The problem is most brands forget about the entertaining or inspiring part. So Mason, what's the best way to do both? I think every social media brand campaign can be hugely improved if the creators just ask themselves two questions. One, what's my brand's value proposition? And two, what's this video's entertainment proposition? Whenever you make a video for an audience, you basically have two audiences. One that wants to hear about your awesome brand, and one that wants to be entertained by you right now as they're watching.
And brands already know what their value proposition is, right? You know, what does their product do? What kind of value does it add to their customers' lives? That is the part that you're already good at. We've all seen ads where the video is just how star-spangled awesome the product is, right?
It's bad, okay? It's bad. Think of it this way. Is your video funny? Are there a lot of cool visuals? Are we learning something by watching?
Yeah, I mean, Honestly, people online, they watch videos to be entertained, right? And if you don't know what about your video is entertaining, then no one's gonna watch it. So it's social media, couldn't be more important to put the customer first, think about how you can add value, entertain, and then integrate your brand within that story.
