Aldebaran and Antares Stars of Power and War

YouTube talk by Joni Patry explaining the astrological meanings of the fixed royal stars Aldebaran (eye of the bull) and Antares (heart of the scorpion). The speaker compares tropical vs. sidereal positions, connects Aldebaran to Taurus/Rohini (sensuality, material wealth, weather-related loss) and Antares to Scorpio/Jyeshtha (war, strategic/martial power, manifestation), recounts the Rohini–Jyeshtha moon myth, and links these stars to historical/world events (example: Nice attack, Bastille Day 2016).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to talk about two very important fixed stones and they are part of the four royal stars. So the reason why I want to talk about two today, because these two fixed stars are related to each other by the fact that they are exactly opposed to each other in the zodiac. So the fixed star Aldebaran, which is the eye of the bull, it is exactly opposed Antares, which is the heart of the scorpion. Now these fixed stars, these four royal fixed stars, the ancients used in navigation and they also used in terms of when they came into the night sky, this represented the change of the seasons, such as Aldebaran, which is in Taurus, represented spring. And when we go to the Leo and we come to the fixed star Regulus, which is the heart of the lion, this represented summer. And when we came to Antares, which is the heart of the scorpion, the star is the heart of the scorpion, this represented fall, the seasonal change. Of course I am talking about the northern hemisphere, but they even in the southern hemisphere it was opposite, it was the change of seasons. And last, in Aquarius, we have the very powerful fixed star Famula. So these four royal stars represented the seasons. Famula was winter. So we have spring, summer, fall and winter associated with these four bright royal stars. And so Aldebaran, which is the eye of the bull and it's the red eye, it's interestingly enough to know it is in the Nakshatra Rohini. And Rohini actually means the red one. So it's relative to this star being the red eye. And let me just tell you where you're going to be looking in the Zodiac to see if you have both of these stars relative. Because remember what I tell you, it's not just the conjunction, it is also the opposition that I want you to look at. So if you have one of these, you automatically have the other one, Aldebaran or Antares and Aldebaran, the eye of the bull. If you are looking at the tropical western zodiac, you are looking at 9 degrees of Gemini. And if you're looking at the sidereal Vedic Zodiac that I use, you are looking at 15 to 16 degrees of Taurus. So.
Exactly opposite. Now we're going to Antares, which is the heart of the scorpion. This is going to be in the tropical zodiac, nine degrees of Sagittarius. And if you are looking at the Vedic sidereal zodiac, you're looking at 15 to 16 degrees of Scorpio. But I really want to talk about Aldebaran first, because. And if you have a birthday, regardless of what zodiac you're looking at, if your birthday is around May 24, May 25, your sun is conjunct Aldebaran. So. So this is a star that deals many times with violence because it is associated with the opposing star Antares, which is considered the star of war. So when we talk about Aldebaran, we're talking about the energy of the bull of Taurus. And I don't really understand how western astrologers can justify that this star is in Gemini when everything has to do with the eye of the bull. What is the bull Taurus? So I don't really understand their justification for this. And this was one of the main reasons why I made the shift to Vedic astrology, because it is relative to the stars. This doesn't change that the. The stars are moving. Yes, they're moving. But the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology makes this adjustment that the stars are moving, so it stays true to the stars, whereas tropical Western astrology is off. So, looking at this, let's talk about what Aldebaran is about. It can be extremely materialistic because that can deal with Taurus energy. Taurus energy is about materialistic world and things of sensuality, of beauty. And it deals a lot with worldly desires because it is so earthbound, this star. But it can deal with great leaders and power and money and wealth, I will say that. But it can deal so totally with the seductive qualities of Taurus, because when we think about Rohini, Rohini is the Nakshatra that deals with sensuality and seduction. Why? Well, when you think about the Myth of the 27 Nakshatras, in terms of them being the 27 sisters, the moon, which travels a Nakshatra per day.
So if you will note, in the sidereal zodiac, the moon will be in one nakshatra each day. Therefore, the lunar cycle is 27 days, spending one day in each Nakshatra. But in the ancient myth, the moon started to spend more time in Rohini, and therefore the Nakshatra opposite Rohini, where the sister Jaista is, which is considered the eldest one Jesta is the eldest sister.
She became enraged and jealous and told on the moon Soma that Soma was spending way too much time in Rohini and a spell was cast on the moon. And this is why the story goes that we have the waxing and waning moon, where it becomes dark but comes back to life, because it means the Moon is dying, but the moon regains its power. But this spell was cast on Soma, the moon, based on the fact that he was spending too much time with the seductive Rohini. But Jaista, which is the opposite Nakshatra.
Where we have Antares, can deal with jealousy. And I find many times, though, with this, with this Nakshatra Jaista, that it deals many times with jealousy of them. So that's the energy that deals with this, this sign and, and the energy of betrayal and seduction that can deal with Taurus and Scorpio.
So it can deal with the energy Aldebaran with loss through floods, through severe weather, rain. So watch that. There was many in history shipwrecks that occurred while in this, in this treacherous point with malefics, conjunct Aldebaran. And. And you will find that, like if there is a solar eclipse that conjuncts Aldebaran, there are severe weather all over the world. So that's something to think about in terms of world prediction with these fixed stars. So now I want to talk about Antares, Star of War. It has a quality reminiscent of Mars. And because it is in the heart of the scorpion, it deals with this powerful, powerful.
Emotional power that Scorpio is all about. Now, remember.
If you are looking at the tropical zodiac.
Which is used in Western astrology, you're looking at nine degrees of Sagittarius. And if you're looking at the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology, you're looking at 15 to 16 degrees of Scorpio to be relative to this star. But remember, they're opposites. So you're going to be connected to both of these fixed stars. If you are born December 1 or December 2, your sun conjuncts Antares. And let me tell you something about Antares being associated as the star of war. This star deals with strategic power, plan planning, intelligence, focalizing, and how to make strategic plans for the future. This star is relative to power. And this can deal with many generals and world leaders that are able to strategically make their plans. And there are a lot of world leaders that I can think of that have this story potent in their chart. And it deals with military honors, it deals with ability to really make futuristic plans. So it goes to show there can be peace and there can be the spiritual warrior, because Gandhi has Antares conjunct his ascendant, Churchill has Antares conjunct his son, and President Erdogan of Turkey has Antares conjunct his moon Mars conjunction.
So what I find is anything relative to the Nakshatra Jaista can deal with magical powers. And when I say magical powers or occult powers, I really mean that people with this star powerful in their chart can manifest anything that they want in life. This is incredible. But what they have to realize, they have to realize this, that what they dwell on, what they think about, they create in their world. So they better be careful what they wish for or what they think about because they manifest it in their life. This is the power of manifestation in the Nakshatra Jaista. I find that more billionaires have this Nakshatra prominent in their chart than any other star. And this is not in the books.
In my book, how to Make Money using Astrology, I have a chapter on billionaires charts. I have about 12 billionaires. Almost every single one has Jaista powerfully placed in their charts. So this is a star of power and creativity and manifestation. So.
Remember that this star of war can really create events. And one event I want to leave you with was last summer on Bastille Day in 2016, there was the attack in Nice, France. And this was due to the transiting Saturn and Mars conjunction that summer. And Saturn sat right on the fixed star Antares. And that was reminiscent of why that event happened the day and time that it did.
So with that I'd like to leave. And if you would like more information about me, you can go to my website, which is GalacticCenter.org and if you would like to learn Vedic astrology, go to my university, universityofvedicastrology.com and there will be transcripts of these fixed stars in my magazine, which is astrologicmagazine.com thank you.
