Meanings of all 12 Signs:

Foreign.

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about how you can get a deeper meaning of your sidereal Vedic astrology chart by understanding the signs better. And remember, These signs are 30 degree segments of the 360 degree zodiac, which there's 12 signs and each one of these signs are divided into 30 degrees. So all of these signs relative to what planet rules these signs gives them their deep meaning for plus what you need to learn to recognize are that they're relative to the houses as well. So let me explain this. The first house is relative to the sign Aries, because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac that we start with. So Aries deals with beginnings, it deals with Mars. So what is Mars all about? Mars is energy, Mars is quick. Mars. Mars has courage and strength. And this is relative to the sign Aries. Aries is strong, it's strong hearted in strength and courageous, it's brave. That's Mars. Mars rules sports and action and high energy and impulsiveness moving forward. So that's all the qualities that's attributed to, to Aries because it's ruled by Mars. And it is relative to the first house, which is the new start, the new beginning. The first house is really our entrance into the world. So let's go to the second sign, Taurus. Taurus is ruled by Venus, whereas Taurus deals specifically.

With Venus's energy in terms of creativity, love, romance. That's what Venus is all about. Being creative, loving the arts and nature. Taurus is a very sensitive sign in terms of sensuality. They're very sensual and deals with the senses, with love and affection, emotion and nature and money. Why? Because the second sign is relative to the second house, which is the house of money. And it's interesting that the second house deals with our taste, our mouth, our eating, our speaking. So this is all about the sign Taurus. And next understand the sign of Gemini. Gemini is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is all about information, curiosity, learning, education, travel. These are all the things that Gemini's about. It's not about being two faced because it's the twins, but relevant to it being the twins. The twins represent the duality, the dual nature of Gemini in terms that they can do many things at the same time. And the dual part of the body, we have two hands, two arms, two legs, two lungs. This is part due with the sign Gemini. Remember, Gemini is the third sign. So the third house rules what communications, writing, information, education and travel. So that's what comes into the Sign of Gemini. Why? Because it's ruled by Mercury and it's the third sign. So it has nothing to do with two face duality, whatever those old concepts that we have from the old tropical books on astrology. So? So I want you to get a better understanding of how the signs are more reflective of the planet that rules them and relative to the house that they're in relationship to, such as the moon. The moon rules cancer. So cancer is a sign that of course deals with sensitivity in terms of feelings, emotions, and most of all, it deals with the sense of security that comes from what the mother. So it's all about nurturing and mothering and feelings and feelings that come from the past. This is the moon. The moon rules the past. So what is the fourth house? All of these things. And what is the sign of cancer? All of these things we just discussed. It deals with mothering, nurturing, security, past, emotion. So that is cancer. High, high degree of sensitivity because of feelings and emotions. And they are the nurturers. So the sign of Leo is relative to what? The sun. The sun rules Leo. It puts out that energy, it puts out the light. The sun illuminates and the sun represents the warmth and deals with love and that type of emotion. It's fascinating how Leo is the sign of self expression. Why? Because it's the fifth sign relative to the fifth house, which deals with creativity. And I know most Leos or people with a strong Leo essence, whether it's the rising, their sun, their moon. And please remember I'm talking about sidereal astrology. Don't put this in your Western chart. Think of your sidereal Vedic chart from what I'm talking about. So if the sun is in Leo, this is the sign of warmth, of loyalty, of leadership. Because the fifth house is the house of giving advice to other people. It's also the house of children. Leos love to have children. Why? Because it's a sense of love and giving, putting out that energy, opening your heart. Leo rules the heart. The sun rules the heart. So moving on to the next sign, Virgo. Virgo is the sixth sign and it's ruled by Mercury. Virgos are very mercurial. They're always thinking, they're always planning, they're always worrying about something.

But they're such organizers. They want to bring things together. They want to scrutinize, organize, figure things out, analyze. That is the power of Mercury at its deepest level. And when it's relative to the sixth house, the sixth house deals with health and healing. This is the quality that Virgo's about, how can I make myself better, improve, make things better. That's the sixth house. Help people, be of service. That's Virgo. So. And it's all about the thinking process of the mind. So when we get to the sign Libra, Libra is ruled by Venus, and Venus is the planet that rules what relationships, love, sensuality, wealth, money. This is the sign of Libra. And Libra deals mainly with bringing people together, finding relationships, finding compatibility, finding balance within a relationship, and most of all, compromise. That's what we have to do in relationships. And this is Libra. So Libras are all about that. Going to the sign Scorpio. What is the sign Scorpio all about? Well, it is the eighth sign, so it's very relative to the eighth house. Transformational change, deep emotion, things that go to the darkest, deepest level of understanding, metaphysical science, psychic ability, wanting to understand psychoanalysis. That's all Scorpio. Scorpio wants to take things to the deeper level of emotion and feeling and realizations. It's not ever a shallow sign, nor is the eighth house about anything that's shallow. It can go to the depths and it is. They are masters at research.

And most of the time it's pretty scientific that it's like, let's get to the core of the essence and figure things out and go to the depths to transform and change things. That's Scorpio. Based on the fact that its rulership. It's the eighth sign, eighth house, but it's also ruled by Mars. But because it's more of an internal emotional sign. They internalize. It's a water sign. They internalize their emotions or feelings. Okay. Whereas Aries, ruled by Mars, they externalize their emotions, their energy, and the water sign takes it in. So going to the sign Sagittarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. They are the greatest thinkers of philosophers. They love to teach, to learn about beliefs and religions and have their opinions to help others teach and learn. They are the teachers. Remember, Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and in Vedic astrology, Jupiter is called guru. So they are the gurus, the teachers, the professors, the travelers of the world. They want to expand, they're adventuresome, they want to be out there and grow and learn and travel. That's all contained within the sign of Jupiter's all about that. And so is the ninth house. So it's all relative to the sign Sagittarius. Now going to the 10th sign, Capricorn. It's relative to what the 10th house it's not that Capricorns are just about ambition, it's about that they're relative to career principles, because it's a 10th sign relative to the 10th house. Their career is very, very important to them. And they work hard. It's ruled by what? Saturn. Saturn is the taskmaster. It's going to be somebody who puts their nose to the grind and achieves and they work hard and they get what they want through through hard work. This is the Earth sign, Capricorn, that takes it to this level. But it's all relative to the fact that it's Saturn that rules Capricorn, making it very, very focused, very organized. But what about their career? That's what's important to this sign. It's career oriented. So the 11th sign, which is Aquarius, is relative to the 11th house. And Aquarius is ruled by Saturn too. Aquarians are focused. They can be very detached too. But the 11th House deals with friends groups, social interaction, and friends most of all. So Aquarians value their friendships, their social context, and they love communications because it is this air sign. But. But it's ruled by Saturn. So you got to understand that they're all about learning and stability and bringing things down to a place that's tangible. But because it's air, it's all about the communication skills. But remember, most of all, it's relative to the 11th house because it is the 11th sign.

Last but not least, the sign Pisces is relative to the 12th house. Pisces is going to be more sensitive and emotional, inwardly and spiritually, because that's what the 11th house is about. I mean, the 12th house is about letting go, being one with all that is escaping this world. And Pisces have that way about not being totally part of the world. They want to escape. They don't want to be in reality, they want to be part of their imagination mind. They want to escape. But they're extremely focused in doing the right thing and being spiritual. Why? Because it's ruled by Jupiter and Jupiter is guru, it is that teacher. But it's beyond the confines of the ninth house in Sagittarius, which has to do so much with belief systems and learning. Pisces is more beyond that learning. It's living in the spiritual world, being that, understanding that from the Jupiter perspective of this beautiful water sign, that is very much like the 12th house. And I consider the 12th house being the house. How we leave this world, whether it's through our imagination, whether it's through when we sleep at night to dream Whether it is through going to an ashram or a church, whether we leave this world through going to the movies. Neptune is relative to the sign Pisces in many respects, although Jupiter gives it its meaning of spirituality. So it's got this beautiful blend. But let me just say the 12th house. All about escape. Whether it's through hospitals, whether it's through jails and prisons, whether it's through ashrams, whether it's through sleep, whether it's through movies or death, our final frontier. That's the 12th house, and that is the ending of the cycle of life. And that's where these 12 signs take us. So, so please be aware when you look at your chart to look at the signs from this vantage point and not from the old traditions of these personalities that really are not the truth of what this astrology is here to give us.
