Secrets of the Houses in Astrology: 2nd House of Wealth, Money and Self-Esteem

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I'm going to continue on with the very last house of my series, Secrets of the Houses. And yes, I almost missed the second house. Everyone informed me when I did the sixth house. Hey, you haven't done the second house. You're right. So here I go. I'm going to talk about the second house and what a house to miss. Probably this is the house that most people want to know the most about. Why? Because it deals with money. Everyone wants to know when and how they're going to make money. And the second house being an Artha house. The Artha houses deal with putting food on the table, making money, career, work. So the Arthur houses are relative to the Earth signs because the second house is affiliated with the second sign sign, which is Taurus. And it's. These are the Earth signs. So Artha houses deal with Earth. So they are 2, 6 and 10. So the second house deals with the money we make, our income. Whereas the sixth house deals with our work and our work conditions. While the 10th house is our career, our purpose. And you see the sec. And if you want to, if you want to look at the other Earth signs, the sixth, the house is relative to Virgo, which is an Earth sign. And the tenth house is relative to the tenth sign, which is Capricorn. Dealing with career and profession. But let's focus on what the second house is all about. And it is your ability to bring in money in your life. And don't worry if you don't have a planet there. It's the planet that rules that house. That will tell you everything about your income, finances and money. You see, the second house really deals with from paycheck to paycheck, it's your salary. But there's a deeper meaning attributed to the second house, and that is it deals with your sense of self worth, how worthy you feel, your sense of confidence. And when you look at that.

You can really say that what has built your sense of self worth, who you are, your confidence. Generally that goes back to childhood experiences, which is another variable. The second house does rule. It rules our childhood experiences. So as we are a child, whether or not we get the support or we get the confidence through our upbringing, this will in a large part determine how much money you make. And in some cases maybe the childhood experiences, there was a lack of security and very difficult times. That would denote someone that decides from that point of an early age to they're going to make money because they never want to be in the predicament that they experienced as a child. So you see this, this builds your sense of who you are, what you're going to do with your life with the second house based on how you were raised, early childhood experiences. So therefore people that have very difficult planets in the second house, they may have a very difficult childhood. As a matter of fact, they absolutely do. So these difficult. Let's say someone has Mars, Rahu, Saturn in the second house. I guarantee you there was difficulty in their childhood. Now always remember I'm talking about the sidereal Vedic chart. I am not talking about western astrology. So tropical Western astrology. So looking at that, make sure that you have the right sign system you're focusing in on for these charts. So if it deals with our finances, how much money we actually make, and then again it deals with our early childhood experiences that promote our sense of self worth and confidence. Remember where the first house was? The head. And we're generally born head first. And so, so guess what the second house is? It's actually the face, the mouth and the neck that comes, you know, after the first and on down through all 12 signs till you get to the 12th house, which rules of course your feet. But the second house, let's talk about if it rules the mouth and the face, it actually rules eyesight too, our vision. You get some heavy malefics transiting through this house, your eyesight may change. This is a fact. I noticed this when Rahu one time went through, transited through my second house. All of a sudden my eyesight changed from probably looking at computers all day. Right, but that's a fact. Now the next thing the second house deals with is the mouth. So it actually rules what comes out of the mouth in terms of your speech and also what goes into your mouth in terms of how you eat or drink. People with first rate malefics here may tend to have addictions such as smoking, drinking, taking in substances that are not healthy, eating poorly, heavy drinking.

Drugs. This can be when you have these malefics in the second house. And sometimes people can actually have eating disorders when you have very difficult planets in the second house. Because there's an issue on, on what goes in the mouth.

But in terms of what comes out of the mouth. This can also deal specifically with our voice, how we speak, somebody with malefics in the second house. And what are the malefics by the way? Saturn, Mars, Rahu, Ketu, those are the malefics. And believe it or not, in Vedic astrology, the sun is Even considered a malefic, a mild malefic.

So when you put these malefics there and we're talking about our speech, this can be someone that cusses all the time, uses.

Foul language, and maybe they talk negatively all the time. There's just not a wonderful orientation towards speaking. Now, if there are benefics there, beautiful benefics in the second house, people have a beautiful voice and they may be singers or maybe they just know how to word things and say things properly.

To get what they want out of people. So they're sweet talkers. They have a way with words. Venus, there you go.

You have a sense of poise and confidence and you say the right things. Very socially adept because, you know, people with Venus, really strong, have great social skills, they know how to behave and they have etiquette.

Venus here in the second house would bring wealth, money and a voice. As a matter of fact, Julie Andrews, the beautiful singer from the Sound of Music and all of these great movies from the past, she had. I can't remember exactly what benefics she had in her second house. I do know Jupiter was one of them, and I think it was Jupiter, Venus and the Moon, something of that array. But my point is, she had benefics in the second house and she had a beautiful singing voice. Amazing. And that's how she made her money, through her voice. And, you know, benefics in the second house can also be speakers, people who speak who are very, very good at their oratory skills. So they could be promotional people, they could be motivational speakers with powerful planets in the second house, especially if the ruler of the 10th is in the second house, they can be a speaker.

So also, talking about the second house in terms of the mouth can also be your teeth. People that have problems with their teeth have to have a lot of oral surgery or things like that. They may have some very difficult planets, their second house. And notice, even if you don't have planets there, it's when planets transit through this house that they can bring all the aspects of what this house is about into your life, whether it be money, whether it be using your voice, power in the voice, or even losing your voice. Believe it or not, when Julie Andrews had Saturn transiting through her second house, she lost her voice. Yes. I think she had to have surgery and her voice was never the same. She never sang again.

Yes. So the second house. Let's talk a little bit about other things that you may not realize it pertains to. One of the things is family, happiness. If you have great planets in the second house. You had a great upbringing, a great childhood, you were happy as a kid. And let me just say this, it deals with family happiness. Even in the second part of life when you're married, this can pertain to the happiness that you have within your family. And let me just say this, from, from house to house in the derivative house system, realize that the second house is the eighth house from the seventh. Now what is the seventh house? Marriage. So if, if you know what the eighth house means, the eighth house is endings, difficulty, death. So it could be the death of the marriage. Let's count from the seventh house around to the second. So seventh, eighth, nine, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, second house that comes up with eight houses. So it is the eighth house from the seventh and the second house. When Malefic planets transit through here, there's problems with marriage, can't even mean divorce. When first rate malefics go through the second house, you'd think it was more or less in the first or the seventh house that malefics transiting through, never thinking the second house can deal with divorce and problems in marriage. Probably it starts out when the malefics are in the first, but by the time they get to the second, there can be an ending in the relationship. So that's one of the variables that I know the second house pertains to. So realize that it deals with family happiness and issues or good things around marriage.

So the second house, it's the house that really deals with everything to do with our sense of self worth, our sense of financial gains, when we're able to make money, when money comes in, when money doesn't come in, there can be an issue. So these planets that transit through the second house will be the determinant of when you'll have money and possibly lose money. So.

So Sagittarius ascendants right now they have, and right now, as I speak, at the end of.

2020, that is, if you have a Sagittarius ascendant, then that means that Capricorn is your second house. And transiting Saturn's been sitting there and it's not so easy financially just right now. But watch when Jupiter join Saturn in the sign of Capricorn. That will be predominantly from, let's see, November 20, 2020 through April 5th of 2021. There can be some financial gains because both Jupiter and Saturn are together transiting your second house of finances and money. So the second house is, is this quality of being able to make money, put food on the table Support yourself, give yourself self esteem and confidence relates to your childhood experiences and family happiness. And don't forget everything to do with what goes in the mouth and comes out the mouth.
