Transiting Sun

A spoken YouTube lecture by Joni Patry explaining how the transiting Sun affects each of the 12 houses in a Vedic astrology chart. The speaker describes the Sun as life force/ego and reviews house-by-house impacts on vitality, relationships, finances, health, career, and spirituality, plus timing (Sun moves ~1°/day through a sign/month) and practical cautions (e.g., watch ego, money, energy lows when Sun transits 8th/12th).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to talk about the transiting sun. As the transits through all 12 of the houses in your chart and the aspects that the sun may make. When the sun.
Is in a particular house, it's going to always cast its rays and energy to the opposing house. So the sun is our life force, it's our power. And I find that when the sun is in difficult houses transiting.
It depletes our power, our will and our energy. But the sun being in the first house is going to give vitality, strength, but a sense of who you are and ego makes you feel strong. But sometimes when the sun's there, it's a little too much. And it can be very ego producing. And you gotta watch being overly complicated, confident, too much ego, it may repel others. But the sun in the first house means it's aspecting the seventh house. And you've got to be careful how you're relating to others. Don't be so self centered. The sun is all about the ego in the self. Put it in the first, reflecting the seventh. It's going to be about your relationships during this time. Now, the sun.
In a sign per month, the sun moves one degree each day. So in the course of 30 days per month, it will move through an entire sign, therefore an entire house. But the sun in the first house is all about how you feel about your sense of who you are. And as it reflects the seventh house, you can sometimes be a little bit too commanding. And as to your wants and your needs, this is the sun.
Sun transiting through the second house. You know, the second house is our finances and our money. But the sun is considered a malefic planet in Vedic astrology.
So it can burn a hole in wherever it is. And being in the second house, remember, you can always look at all these transiting from your moon as well. This will give a sense of how you're feeling. So the sun being second in the second house, or second from your natal moon, Chandra Lagna, can mean that during that month there may be some unexpected expenses. Now the sun is going to be casting its light to the eighth house. And this may involve other people's money as well. So be careful with the money you're spending. With the sun in the second can burn a hole in your pocket. In other words, you're wanting to spend more than you have. And the sun in the second house can bring up some issues about family. Are you being considerate around the Household dealing with the family. The sun's not too concerned with others. It's all about self. So be careful. Second house can also deal with with food and voice. So sometimes when the sun's in the second house, you may be over consuming or you may not be eating the right foods a little, a little over the top. But as it's aspecting your 8th house, the sun to the 8th will represent are you being considerate with others? Finances.
Let's talk about the sun transiting your third house. When the sun's in the third house, it could have an effect on brothers and sisters because this is a third house variable which can cause some problems and mishaps. Are you being too consumed with your own wants and needs and not being considerate of your brothers and sisters? This is what you have to consider. The sun being in the third house may represent you have to go on a trip maybe, and it's usually short trips. So you're in the car a lot, but you're not really liking it. The sun is too much energy, you're feeling restless. And the sun in the third house means you don't want to be traveling as much as you're having to you. But there's so much movement with the sun in the third house and there's so much learning. There's new learning, educational opportunities, and if you're in an area of sales, this is a time you can put back fourth great energy.
To be successful with your sales, your products. But as the sun is casting its rays and light to the ninth house, you might find it's a time that you're more interested in your spirituality. And you might get a call from your dad and it might not be as warm and loving as usual. It's all about me, me, me, me, me. That's the sun energy. It's very self assured, confident, but it's all about themselves.
When the sun transits through the fourth house, you may not find that your mother's being too hospitable. It could be too much. So remember, wherever the sun is in a chart relative to people, you're going to have problems with those people. So when it transits the third house, you may have problems with your brothers and sisters. When it's in the fourth house, you could have problems with your mother overbearing, demanding too much, and there could be some issues or problems around the house. It's just maybe there's too much energy going on. Be careful of fires. Probably every month you're not going to have a fire in your house. But the sun is fiery. So just be aware, be a little bit more cautious.
Awareness is everything.
So the sun being in the fourth house could bring on some disagreements in the family. There's too much and people are not thinking for themselves, they're thinking just about themselves and not about others. So the sun in the fifth house would be overbearing experiences with your children. But the sun in the fifth house can bring great creative awareness. The sun loves the fifth house. It's relative to the fifth sign, Leo. So great ideas, new creativity, incredible.
Inventions. So the sun in the sixth house is excellent for health because when you put malefics in the sixth house house being an upachaya house, it promotes the ability to overcome things. So the sun in the sixth house, the sun represents vitality, will promote good health. But that's the case only when there's one malefic there. Remember, the sun is a malefic. If you put two or more malefics in the sixth house, it's going to cause some health issues. But the sun by itself, transiting the sixth house is going to promote growth, good health, vitality, strength. But you may have some issues around the workplace with overbearing, overconfident employees or co workers. They're just all about their own agendas and it gives you too much stress in the workplace. So be aware that the sun in the six is great for vitality health, starting that new diet during that month. But you may have your issues and problems around the workplace. People being too self centered, not being considerate in the workplace. So the sun in the seventh house is too much for relationships. It's the partner becomes self consumed all about themselves and they're not recognizing who you are and what your needs are because it's all about them. As the sun cast its rays to the first house, this is your experience that the partner has to be the center of attention and is not giving you your space or your consideration. So the partner can be a problem during that month. When the sun goes in transits into the eighth house, this can be some major issues in your energy level. So note the time of year that the sun transits your eighth house. It will always be the same because your chart is set up where when the sun transits for that month, it'll be that month consecutively every year. So if there's a time of year where you feel like you never feel that good, you feel tired, you're exhausted, or you get the flu, sick more than others, no energy, just not feeling up to par. Usually the sun will be transiting the 12th or the 8th house. The 8th house in particular. I find that every year right after Christmas time, the sun transits my eighth house. I think it's late January, February, and that's the time I always seem to come down with the flu. I always kind of blame the holidays, but it's really the sun transiting my eighth house during this time. It is a time of reflection going within, but your vitality and energy levels just at a lull and the sun reflecting to the second house. Money finances aren't the greatest during that time, so it's best just to lay low. When the sun transits your ninth house. This is the house of spirituality truth. But remember, the ninth house in Vedic astrology represents the Father. So you're going to have your issues with your dad. And if he's not around, maybe you'll have some memories or things come up that weren't so pleasant concerning some of the actions or events concerning the Father. Or remember, the ninth house can deal with teachers, educators. So if you're in college, you may have a run in with your professor. Or it could be a time that you go on a trip. And it's a time when you really do explore the fiery nature of your spiritual truth, what you want to discover in life, what inspires you. Sun in the ninth house. Sun in the tenth house. Actually, you know, you think this could be trouble with the boss, but the sun is in its highest position in the 10th house. Because the sun loves the 10th house. Best position. It's a time when you could come into getting a new job. If you have a job interview. The sun transiting the 10th House, great for getting a new position, new job, new career opportunities, considering your position, your job, your work. Sun in the 10th is the best. Look for that. That month will be the best for getting a job, starting a new career. It also does give you a bright and shining.
Presence and reputation. It's how the world sees you. You're confident, you're secure, you shine. Maybe that's why you get opportunities in the area of work, promotions, career, sun. Being in the 11th, you might find run ins with your eldest son, sibling, but you can find new friends. Powerful people come into your life, but they may be a little bit too overbearing, too egotistical, all about them. But it is a time to make plans for your future aspire. Because this is a house that deals with our goals, our aspirations, our future. So it's a good time to make these type of plans. But when the sun goes into its last final house, the 12th, it's time to finish, complete, bring things to an end. When the sun's in the 12th, it's time to pull back. Your energy level will not be.
Powerful, you will feel less energy. And so as this transpires through all 12 of the houses, before you enter into the sun, going through the first, you're in this final phase of completion. Resolution, endings, retirement. Take time off. You're not going to have the energy you normally do. So during this time of the year, it's time to reflect. You may find it's harder to sleep at night. The 12th house does deal with our sleep. So take it easy and just take the time to prepare and plan for when the sun enters your first house, which is a new beginning.
So this completes the transit of the sun through your chart through all 12 houses and with this.
