Find the DSVIEWS file to back up SQL Views, then open the create scripts in SQL Server Management Studio to review or restore them.

Backing up data Self ETL before making any changes in the ETL or in the data warehouse SQL Views back up the metadata. Go to the Tools menu. Backup Metadata we will backup the metadata only. Notice this will automatically save to the dataself dataselfetl Backups folder within a folder with the same name as your project, which also is the same name you will see in the upper right corner of your ETL screen. To the end of the name, ETL adds a date and a timestamp. You can restore all or parts of a project from the backups. In Explorer, find the project you're working on and the Backups folder find the DSVIEWS file. If you double click on the SQL Views backup, it will open up in SQL Management Studio as SQL Create scripts that you can scroll through and use to restore views. Always backup data before making changes to ETL or SQL Views.
