As a counterpoint to the data Self dashboard called Hot Customers Buy Sales is the current display Cold Customers Buy Sales. This gives you insight into those clients whose sales have suddenly dropped, as well as those clients who have stopped buying altogether. Let's begin on the far right where you can decide what you want to measure. Although sales, meaning gross revenues, is the default setting, note that you can click in the measure field and select other options, including cost of sales, gross profit, and quantity sold. Once you select what you want to measure, the next step is to select the report's dimension, that is what you're reporting across. The default choice here is to report across customers as the dashboard totals sales by client. But you could just as easily total sales by region, by item, by salesperson, or by any other field in your ERP app, whether a standard field or a custom one. And note how you're able to specify how many records, clients, regions, items, or the like you want this dashboard to report on. By default, we're looking at the top 12. The two sides of this dashboard give you insight into clients who have significantly changed their buying habits. On the left is a list of clients whose sales have dropped significantly from a previous period, such as last month, quarter or year as compared with the current period. As you can see, Widget Credit Card has had the most serious decrease, dropping their sales from just over $6 million in the previous period to just under 2 million in the current period. Of equal or perhaps greater importance, however, are the clients listed over on the right. These are customers who did business with you in the previous period, in Changdu's case, almost half a million dollars worth of business, but have recorded absolutely no sales in the current period. These are the clients in most need of your attention, and with dashboards like this one, you'll never again be in the position of saying, if only we had known.
