Short demo showing how to use DataSelf ETL Formula Wizard to create a new field on a parent table (customer) by summarizing data from a child table (invoice). The presenter selects the child 'invoice' table, picks the 'total sales amount' field, inserts it into the formula expression, and saves to create a summary field on the customer table.
I'm in the formula wizard, ready to create a new field or formula on the customer table. And on this example, I'm going to bring a summary from my child table. So I go on the top panel, I find the children section and I expand it. I find from what table I want to bring the field from. In this example, I'm going to choose the invoice table. I expand it, and then I choose what summary I want to bring to my customer table. In this example, I want to bring the total sales amount from the invoice header to my customer table. So I just double click the total sales amount and now it brings to my formula expression and I just save it. I can cut spaces if I want to click ok. And I just created a summary on my customer table. That's it.
