DSA sharing

DataSelf Analytics lets you share dashboards and workbooks three ways: save as TWB or TWBX files, export as images or PDFs, or publish to a web server for secure access and interactivity. TWBX packages everything together, but both file formats are unencrypted.

Sharing your reports and dashboards in Data, Self Analytics, Desktop and Server welcome to this video on Sharing in this video you will learn about the different ways you can share dashboards and workbooks. Let's get started the first way I can share my workbook is by saving it as a TWB or TWBX file. A TWBX file saves the workbook package together with data. You should plan on doing this if the recipient doesn't have access to the underlying data, or if your workbook contains local files such as background images or custom geocoding. When a workbook is received, the recipient can open it either using DSA Desktop or Reader. If opened in DSA Desktop, the recipient can view and edit the workbook as if they themselves were the author. In Reader, the recipient will only be able to view and interact with the visualizations as shown, but all interactivity is reserved when viewing from Reader. Note that when you share a TWB or TWBX file, you're sending an unencrypted unsecure file. This is not an ideal solution for sensitive data. You can also share dashboards or workbooks as image files. Export it as an image such as a JPEG bitmap or maybe an enhanced metafile. You can even print your dashboard directly to a PDF file and from there export it to any email or on your company's network server. All of these methods are great ways to share data. However, if you'd like your business to have immediate access to the latest data, and if you're interested in having your data secure or maybe you'd like to view your dashboard from a mobile Device, look into DataSelf with DataSelf, you're able to publish your worksheets and dashboards to a secure online environment. You can set security settings to determine who can view which workbooks. You can also schedule extracts to refresh at any particular time. Once you've published your dashboard to DSA Web server, your appointed users will be able to view the dashboard, edit it, subscribe to it, and even leave comments as well. Now that you've published, you can access your dashboard from web browsers like Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and access this dashboard directly from your iPad, smartphone, or mobile device. Notice at the top you have several different controls. With the ability to share your dashboard by email or embedding it into a webpage, you can ask DSA Web server to remember your changes in case you conduct some analysis and discover some insight. Have your DSA system remember that view so others can view it. You can edit your view directly within the browser. You can export the data as a cross tab spreadsheet, or subscribe to this view by clicking on this email icon and type your email address. Your users can download this workbook directly from the browser if they want to make changes to that dashboard. Open it up in DSA Desktop to make changes here and republish it after all these changes have been saved. Thank you for watching this video on Sharing.
