This slide is to cover a high level comparison between the two products. From a wow factor standpoint, both show really great when you show to other users, to your decision makers, no doubt people will be wowed by both of them. From a license cost to get the feet wet With Power Bi you can get your feet wet, your leg wet, your whole body wet, and you can go without spending a penny on license cost, which is great. This is actually a strategy that Microsoft has been doing for a long time to get people to invest in their software. Tableau only has 14 days, but again, as I mentioned before, do not select a BI software based on its cost. So being free, being easy to get your feet wet can be tricky. Maybe Power BI is the right fit, maybe it is not. Be sure you select the right software, not because of the license cost anyhow. Online Resources Both organizations have great resources online from the companies, from the software publishers, from the community, both communities very exciting to deal with. Tableau has, I would say better more because they've been around for much longer, more than 15 years, while power BI is only a few years old, so it has less resources yet. But both they have great online resources at least great ease of use. Both awesome products. Power BI is great in Tableau is considered the best in class for the last five years in a row. Gartner, for instance, has rewarded Tableau as the gold standard for analytics. So if you invest in class, Tableau is it finally from a platform maturity. I think this is important because when you adopt a enterprise wide platform, mature products usually are more scalable, less bugs, more functional, while younger products have sometimes some newer things bug. But there's still some bugs to be ironed out, some features that are still missing. So Power BI is still fairly young, it has about 2, 3 years old while tableau is more than 15 years old.
