DataSelf offers pre-built dashboards and connectors for Acumatica ERP that cut BI setup time. A cash-flow dashboard plots AR collections, AP obligations, and payroll to help forecast line-of-credit needs. DataSelf ETL+ handles slow Acumatica OData with differential refresh.
Acumatica provides things that we can do natively out of the box from a reporting standpoint of actual data. But one of the things that Acumatica frankly does not provide natively and most ERP systems do not, is actually forecasting out into the future with a little more intuition. There's a great tool out there called Data Self. And what Data Self allows you to do is it allows you to basically connect and have a pre built set of dashboards, right? So there's not like a massive BI project to get dashboards like this. All the connectors are built, the work has been done. It's just what level subscription do you want and how many dashboards do you want access to? Right. In its simplest form, that's kind of what you're looking at here. And what I love about the Data Self Advanced analytics or enterprise analytics cash flow projection is that it's actually going to show me my projection and it's going to chart it out on a line. Right? And you can actually be a little bit more forward looking. Right? So this is colorful too. I can see in blue, I'm able to see invoices I'm anticipating collecting on. In orange, I'm seeing my accounts payable invoices. So vendors we've got to pay. And then in red I've got payroll, right? These are the, this is the reality of a business owner, right? You have customers that might be late, you have vendors that you have to pay or maybe you need to defer and then you also have payroll. And I haven't met a business owner that has successfully deferred payroll. So that one you got to live with. This allows me to just have a lot more tangible control of where's my cash flow going, right. For some reason this payroll here is going to be massive. Maybe it includes some quarterly payments, some quarterly commissions, and it's not like our normal payroll of 100 to $200,000. This is $520,000. So what this is demonstrating here is it's actually showing me, hey, your cash flow is going to dip here, right? And then I can also establish a line of credit line where might I need to tap into a line of credit, right. If we do that, we're going to need to pay interest, but at least I can start to analyze, is that going to be worth it? Should I dip into it? What else might we have going on? Does that fall in a time where we're paying taxes? Right. We're also paying some quarterly income tax that we've withheld. So there's all sorts of just great data that you can see out of this and this is again more of an existing and into the future. This is my forecast moving forward in a very visual way.
And there's also several add ons out there that I'm sure you know about. Felixo Data Self these very, very advanced business intelligence tools, especially something like Data Self that has lots and lots of canned dashboards that you can choose which do you want, plug them in and turn them on.
Another thing I've noticed since I started using AUX SQL is I had one client that was pulling data into Power BI using a Power BI dataflow. I think dataflows are the way to go with Power bi. It's like a data warehouse within Power BI and then you build your Power BI reports and data sets on top of that. But pulling the data out of Acumatica can get pretty slow because ODATA is very slow now if that's happening to you. I know Johnny Girardi chimed in on here. Definitely take a look at the data self ETL+ product because they can do a differential refresh and only pull in the data that has changed since the last time you refreshed.
