You Can Stop Paying For Loom Now...

Jorge built a free screen recorder at screenshare.online that works without an account or cloud storage, storing videos locally instead. It records up to 2 hours, lets you add a webcam overlay, and saves files as lightweight .webm that you can share or convert to MP4.

Hey, how we all doing? So if you already know me, you know my name is Jorge, and then welcome to my channel. Definitely. If not, then welcome to my channel. But I just want to let you know that I just built another app, right? And what is the background behind this app? Why did I create this app? And what is it, right? So first of all, I'm a big user in my workday. Of a tool called Loom, loom.com. It's a great tool. You record your screen, you have your own little widget with the camera, and you can like— and also like, you know, the, the pausing, the recording, the, the stop, you know, anything, anything you need to, to save that video online, it's there. It stores your videos as well, which is fantastic. It gives you a link to share it, right? You can even download it with a, with a pro subscription. But then yes, you need a pro subscription. So that is the reason why I created something not even similar. I would say that the purpose might be similar, the mission also, but the app is nowhere near as robust as Loom, but it's free. So, and you also can't create an account. You don't need to create an account because you can't create it. Um, the files, whatever you are recording is stored on your device. Right? So I don't store nothing on my cloud. None of your videos go anywhere. The only thing you need to give permission the app to do is to record your screen and to listen to your mic, right? So that you can, if you're going to talk, right? Definitely. And the other is that if you wanted to have access to your camera, it can, right? So you're in charge of what permissions you give it. But even then, whatever video you record, it's actually going to be stored on your computer. And yes, this is entirely a desktop app. Do not use on mobile. I don't think it works on iPad or like tablet. I wouldn't use it there. Try to use it on a desktop. And then yes, go for it. This is absolutely free. You will see there's a sponsored section as well. Feel free to click or not on the ads there. They're all the way at the bottom so they don't disrupt your user experience. And then the other thing is that you need to— I'll just explain it here. The format in which videos are saved to your device so that they can be lightweight is called .webm. The .webm file, you can actually open it on any browser. If you have a browser like Chrome, whatever, it just displays the video. You can actually see it, but it's just on your browser locally. You don't need to go to any link. It doesn't create a link for you. You can share it like that. But then if you actually want to share it anywhere, you can upload this video to Google Drive and then just share the Google Drive for free, or you can convert it to MP4. I actually have a few notes there in the app. You'll see that in which you you can go to those links that I just shared in the app and then just convert your file from WebM to MP4. And then that should be it. So let me know your thoughts. I think this is a great app. I'm going to use it because I record a lot of screen stuff and then I share my screen a lot. I do a lot of walkthroughs, training and all of that via Loom, but I just don't want to keep paying for it. And I also don't want another platform to have my videos just because I don't love that. I would love it. I would love— I'm okay with it, but I would love my videos and my content to first live on my device and then I decide what goes online. Just, that's just because that's how I operate. You don't need to operate in that way. You might be fine with creating an account. And if you're fine with creating an account, a great tool is Loom. But do know that the free version has a limit of 25 videos and the maximum amount of time you can record on those videos is 5 minutes. In my app, you'll notice that the limit is quite larger, but because videos are saved to your device. So check it out, give it a go. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you. So I'm going to open up my browser here, and I'm going to start typing screenshare.online. And then I'm going to go to that website. And then on this website, I want to start my first recording. Keep in mind that here are some instructions how to, how to do it, how to set it up. It is going to be awesome. So let me actually just go ahead and do that and click Start Recording. And then I'm going to choose entire screen, by the way, make sure to do that. And then we're going to click on Share and we'll be taking off in a little bit. So here we are in my tool. And let's actually— so here's the initial thing. We're sharing the whole screen. So I'm actually just going to pop out. Right here on the right. As you can see, now I have my widget. And then I'm going to open up a new tab, and then I'm just going to go to— I don't know, let's go to hubspot.com. Uh, let's go to— and there we go, we're still here, we're still live. Let's go to fuenteszapata.com, which is a great website that you should check out. And let's go then to— well, I think that's it. And then let's go back to each tab here. 1, 2, 3. And then that's pretty much it. Let's now close out our camera here. And then I'm going to close out the pop-out. And that's it. Thank you. Yeah, as you saw there within the app, it's really good. The maximum amount of video you can record, like your screen with and your camera, is actually 2 hours, right? So that beats Loom's 5-minute Yeah, 5-minute limit on, you know, per video. You can actually do 2 hours per video. So that's great. And unlimited amount of videos because it's going to be saved to your device. So share this app with anybody that needs it. Use it, right? And if you can, click on the ads there just because that helps me as well finance this whole app. And then, yep, but have a blast at it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Yeah, I hope you use it and see you on the next video. Thank you.
