In this presentation Joshua Fraser cites a Harvard Business Review study showing that 67% of well‑formulated strategies fail because of poor execution. He then introduces the Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) as a practical framework to overcome this gap. The four disciplines are: (1) focus on one or two wildly important goals (WIGs); (2) act on lead measures—predictive, controllable actions—rather than lag measures like revenue or user growth; (3) maintain a simple, compelling visual scorecard that makes progress tangible; and (4) establish a weekly cadence of accountability where each team member makes one‑to‑two specific commitments tied to lead measures and reports back in a brief 15‑minute meeting. Fraser frames these steps as the proven method high‑growth teams use to consistently hit their goals.
