안녕하세요. 영어 강사 조시입니다. 되게 많은 한국분들이 짧은 모음과 긴 모음을 구별하기를 어려워하고 있습니다. 예를 들어서 f-i-l-l feel 그리고 f-e-e-l feel 이 두 가지의 모음의 차이에 대해서 어떤 사람은 바로 들으면 알고 바로 반복해서 발음을 할 수 있지만 못하는 분들도 되게 많습니다. 그럼 먼저 어떻게 하는지 시범을 보여드릴게요. feel 아마 긴 것은 쉽게 할 수 있을 거에요. feel, feet, meet, wheel 그러면 짧은 것은 어떻게 하면 좋을까요 하나의 제가 가르치는 방법이 있습니다. 여기 입에 손가락을 놓고 살짝 꺾고 ㅐ ㅐ ㅐ 라고 해보세요. ㅐ ㅐ ㅐ 이 입 모양으로 그 다음에 ㅣ 라고 하려고 해요. 그러면 ㅐ 하고 ㅣ 중간에 모음이 될 것입니다. ㅐ ㅐ ㅐ ㅐ 하고 ㅣ 중간이죠. 입 모양은 이렇게 벌어지는데 ㅣ 라고 하려고 하면 그러한 모음이 나올 것입니다. 그 상태로 짧은 모음으로 fit, sit, pet, knit, will, fill 이렇게 해보는 것입니다. 문장으로 해보겠습니다. I fill the cup. I fill the cup. I feel the cup. 이렇게 문장으로 하면 이게 액센트가 어디 가는 것도 좀 달라지죠 here is your seat here is your seat please sit here please sit here okay so try that and see if you can do short vowel sounds and long vowel sounds 발음하기 어려운 문장 또는 단어가 있으면 알려주세요.
