Hello, everyone. My name is Josh and I'm an English teacher in Korea. Today I would like to introduce you to a technique called shadowing. Shadowing is a practice method used by many interpreters in which you listen to an audio and you repeat what you just heard in real time right away. There are a couple of benefits of doing shadowing as your speaking practice. Number one, it exercises your muscles so your tongue and your lips get used to certain accent intonation. You will hear the rhythm and the melody of English language, and you will try to imitate the person you are listening. And the second benefit many advanced English speakers in Korea. A lot of my students, they understand perfectly, but it's really hard for them to speak and construct better sentences. They understand every word, but they don't know how to use that word when it comes to their own writing or speaking. So you can learn from somebody who speaks better than you and see how they create sentences. And the third, if you want to get really advanced, one thing you could do is you listen to dialogue or you listen to speech. You pause at a certain point and you try to guess what the person is going to speak next, and you say it. You have a dialogue, and then you hear this person, and then you pause her. And then you're gonna try to guess what this person is gonna say, and you try to say it, and then you play it, and then you compare what you just said and what this person has said. Okay? You look for two things. Number one, did you say something that's appropriate in that situation? And number two, how did this person say differently from you? Was it more clever? Was there more sarcasm? Was it more humorous? And those are some of the advanced techniques you can do to improve your speaking. Stop. Okay, so I'm gonna show you. I'm going to do the shadowing technique in five different languages. Bill Clinton. It is because we are in the grip of a failed economic. And this decision you're about to make better be about what kind of economic theory you want. Not just people saying, I want to go first, but what are we going to do? I think we have to do is invest in American jobs, American education, control American health care costs, and bring the American people together. Shadow Man Jinga Gong. Chigong, Chigong jigong.
