Claude Live Artifacts: 3 Real Business Dashboards I Built in Minutes (Fathom, Slack & Revenue)

Julie Chenell builds three working dashboards in Claude using Live Artifacts: a Fathom meeting actions tracker, a Slack support issue analyzer, and a Revenue Morning dashboard pulling MRR and ARR data. She walks through connecting external tools, creating artifacts by chatting with Claude, and fixing common problems like broken links and interactivity.

Hi everyone, I am so excited. I wanted to show you inside the Live Artifacts, uh, tool that is inside of Claude. And I always like to show things in the context of real business because, you know, as much as we all love to try out new AI tools, it can be really difficult to figure out like, okay, but what's the use case? Like, why would I actually use this? So I made 3 live artifacts that I'm going to show you now. A couple of things to know in order to do this is that your ability to connect Claude to other tools will make your artifacts more impactful. Artifacts are basically like dashboards, dashboards that help you curate data. So if you go over here, and now notice that I am in Claude Cowork, and you go over to Customize and you click on Connect Your Apps, this is where you can browse all these different apps that you can connect. You can see here I have my Google Drive, my Gmail, Google Calendar, Zoom, all— there's just, there's tons and tons and tons. So go ahead and connect your favorite tools. Now the first one I'm gonna show you is probably my most exciting one. And I'm over here in live artifacts, and this is the my actions item artifact. And you can do the same thing, and I'll show you exactly how I built it. This goes into my Fathom account, and my Fathom is what is, um, recording all of my calls all week long, my meeting assistant. And it's giving me in the last 7 days all of the action items that I said I would do in these calls. So you can see here, now this again, this is just a dashboard. It's not, you know, it's not like a project management tool, but this is a very easy way for me to look and be like, oh, okay, I have to do this, I have to do this. And one of the most exciting, like, little pieces of this is that when I go ahead and I click on either the watch or the jump, it copies a link that I can then pop open in my browser and it will take me exactly to that call. Okay. Which is fantastic. So I don't have to hunt and peck around. And even more so, if I want to see where I said this, I can hit this little jump button, same thing, pop it open, paste it in. It's going to take me to that exact exact spot in the meeting. Super helpful. So I really, really like this artifact. And even though these are, these are, um, checked, just so you know, it doesn't stay that way. So it's only checked as long as I've loaded it. If I reload it, if I go over here and I click reload, the checks aren't going to be there. It's just more, more for fun. But this is a dashboard, and the goal of this is to help you be able to jump to certain parts in the meeting and just see what it is you have. And you can also, you'll notice that every time you reload, it's going to show up here. So you'll be able to see what was on the list, you know, like, so if I do this next week, it's gonna be a different list because I have different meetings. And this is also a downloadable button. So you can download it as a PDF if you want to. and then you can have it saved. Now, in some cases you might want to, I don't need it really for this one, but you may. Where did it go? I think it went into documents. I think it's in here. Where did it go? I don't know. Let's see. Where did it say it was gonna go? Download as PDF. Here, let's just put it into the downloads folder so we can see. There we go. What it looks like. We're gonna go to downloads. Here we go. And this is what it looks like, um, on in a, in a PDF format. Okay. That's an artifact. Here is another artifact. I have a customer support team question analyzer. Now this is connected to Slack. This one was connected to Fathom. This one is connected to Slack. So when I click on this, What it will do is it's fetching the last 5, uh, the last threads from 24 hours, in the last 24 hours. In this case, there were 5 threads. You can see this one takes a little bit longer to load because it's having to read all the threads. And I'm asking it to categorize what is happening with the customer support team. Now you can see here that we have got, 2 issues around domains and DNS. We have 1 issue around processes and SOP, 1 that's not categorizable. Is that a word? And then we have 1 on product resources. So as of right now, and I can see the replies, I can see the threads, and I can see which of our customer support team raised it. Right now, it seems that domains and DNS are the most problematic escalation in our customer support team. This could really help me say, okay, what are people not understanding about domains, about DNS? I mean, those are just tremendously complicated issues anyway. And then I can compare and contrast how the data looks now versus how it looked before. This one takes a little bit longer to load because it is reading threads inside of Slack. The third one is a revenue dashboard. Now this one is a little bit more complex only because the connection that I'm using here, if I go to Connect Your Apps, I actually don't know if it's gonna show in here. It might actually show somewhere else. Hold on, let me move my face here for a second. If we go into my settings, Settings, here we are, Settings. I believe that, yes, right here, you see this one? This is connected by MCP. And I'd be lying if I could promise to tell you what it means, 'cause I don't know what it means. But this is my Chief Technical Officer at Funnel Gorgeous, her name is Tatiana. She has a data curator, and basically think of it as, like a big hub where she's pulling in all of our data because our data is coming in from a lot of different places. And then I've connected it to my Claude via MCP. So that is what I'm using. But you could probably use a Stripe connector for this one if all of your revenue is coming in through Stripe. And so I'm going to go ahead and show you this artifact. This is my revenue morning dashboard, and this is going to load the revenue data as it stands today, and it's going to show some patterns over time and things like that. You can see monthly recurring revenue, projected annual recurring revenue, um, the proceeds from March and April. This is a fantastic dashboard that can kind of keep me on track for, you know, where our subscriptions are coming from and all of that good stuff. So how do you actually build these? Live artifacts, these dashboards, if you will? Well, all you have to do is hit New Artifact, and it's going to ask you to chat with Claude. Now, when you do that, I'm going to go ahead and pop this conversation open so you can see. It automatically pulls this prompt in, and it loads up your connectors. Okay, so in here you can see I have a bunch of connectors, and, and you could make a dashboard for your calendar, you can make a dashboard for your email, You know, it really, the sky's the limit. You can see here, my data curator is connected. So it's saying, hey, this is what live artifacts are. They are interactive HTML pages and they will remain in my artifact like menu item that I can click on, that I can look at. And I really think the Fathom one is probably the one that everybody should put in place. Now it was asking me a few questions and it really did most of it. It was not hard. This one was super fast. Now when I went to go do the customer support one, I wanna show you, um, I actually overwrote the prompt and I said, I know what I actually want. And it went through a bunch of things and it didn't work at first. And so I had a bug and then I said, I actually wanna see all the Slack threads in the last 24 hours. There was another bug and then it fixed it. So I wanted to show you that so that if you think something's wrong with you, nothing's wrong with you. In the Fathom one, you'll see I did the same thing. And when it pulled up the artifact, I really wanted those watch and jump buttons to actually work. At the first, the first time they didn't really work. They didn't take anywhere, take me anywhere. So I asked it to And I also asked it to make the checkboxes clickable just 'cause I love checking boxes. And the first time, or the second time I tried it, the URL didn't actually copy. So I asked it again and it went ahead and fixed it. So sometimes it's gonna need a little instruction to be able to get that artifact, but you can go ahead and delete these. I'm gonna go and delete or archive these conversations because I don't really need them anymore. And the artifacts will just live here. You can pin them, and you see that they're pinned right here on my, uh, sidebar. So you can pin them, and of course you can always create new artifacts and browse connectors. Anyway, I thought that was super, super cool. I hope you enjoy it. I hope you get a lot of use out of it as well.
