92.5 The BG's Nights on Broadway. Kevin Bourne with you. Good morning. Special guest this morning, Jay Willis, here at Cool 92.5 to talk about how you can help MDA and a few other things. Give us some— what's going on?
So back in 2011, the owners of the company Mometrix, they came to me with an opportunity to help raise money for MDA. Okay. And so over the last 4 years, we've been able to raise over $40,000 to go directly toward neuromuscular research. Okay, awesome. That's awesome.
And so what if people in the area they want to help do that, what do they need to do?
So if you visit mometrix.com/mda, and on there it has a story about our son Benjamin who actually is affected by muscular dystrophy. And we— Mometrix offers test preparation for over 1,000 different standardized exams like ACT, SAT, GRE for graduate school, about any exam you can think of. And our catalog's there, so if you have any need for test preparation materials Mometrix is donating 10% of our sales to go toward neuromuscular research. Okay. If you don't need any test preparation materials, you can just donate directly there to MDA. Even if it's just $5, it would be, you know, if enough people donated $5, it would be a huge help. It would add up to a whole lot of money. Or at a minimum, just share it. You know, there's links there where you can share it on Facebook or LinkedIn or all the different social media sites. So Those are the 3 different ways you can help, and those are all listed at the mometrix.com/mda site.
mometrix.com, it's M-O-M-E-T-R-I-X, right,.com/mda. Yes. And you can go in there, and of course, like you said, your son who's affected by muscular dystrophy and is on there as well, but it's also to raise money for MDA, right?
Right. And all this money goes directly to MDA. I mean, obviously it doesn't benefit Benjamin directly other than if we are able to find a cure, which a lot of research is very close. It seems to show a lot of promise, and so, uh, every little bit helps on that research. All right, $5.
Yeah, a dollar, a coffee. Yeah, skip a coffee and get $5. Give a coffee, get $5. There you go. All right, let's help out MDA. And thanks for coming in, Jay.
