A great #AntmanirbharBharat package, but will India be able to handle it?

In this vlog, the speaker—a diaspora Indian living part‑time in Canada—reflects on the post‑COVID‑19 situation and celebrates India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self‑reliance) relief package, which totals roughly 20 % of India’s GDP. He compares it to Canada’s $82 billion stimulus, emphasizing the massive scale of India’s effort for its 1.3 billion population. The core argument is that the funds must be channelled directly to daily‑wage earners, farmers, auto‑rickshaw drivers, and other vulnerable groups rather than being dispersed indiscriminately. He advocates for a broader self‑reliance strategy: manufacturing in India, reducing dependence on Chinese imports, and even banning cheap Chinese goods. Interwoven are personal anecdotes about learning honesty anew in Canada, observations of reverse culture shock when returning to India (queue etiquette, polite interactions), and a call for citizens to practice honesty, politeness, and mutual respect. Politically, he stresses non‑partisan support for any government that serves the people effectively, praising the Modi administration’s crisis response while rejecting party labels. The video ends with a rallying cry for collective honesty and effort to rebuild the nation, and a teaser for a future video on the cost of living in Canada.

Hey everybody, how are you doing? So post-lockdown, how are you feeling? I mean, it's not post as yet, as in like we are not exactly free, all of us, but even then we are seeing an end of something at the end of the tunnel, and we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. And it's great to have, you know, great to be back into the universe, to be accepted back in the universe. And yes, we will promise to cohabit with all animals, we will promise to co- cohabit and stay in peace. We will promise not to ruin Mother Earth anymore, not to pollute it. So we have learned our lessons, and please take us back that way. And I'm also particularly very proud and very, very happy that India announced this huge— what's it called— Atmanirbhar package, Atmanirbhar Bharat package, and Self-Reliance Bharat package. So that gives— that is almost 200 lakh crore rupees. That's almost 20% of the GDP, 10% of the GDP, and that's almost like $300 million. So that is incredible, and I am— I really want to congratulate the Indian government for this. And also, I would like to say that this was— this is an incredible effort considering that India has 1.3 billion people. Okay, so don't forget that, and To to be able to handle that kind of population, it needs immense grit and immense power. Already the world is seeing such a huge number of people being you know you've been able to control such a huge number of people, and the fact that India has actually the people have actually listened and stayed at home, that itself is unbelievable. That itself is itself is an achievement. I have never seen India so united for a cause except for cricket and except for Bollywood. India has also Mahabharata. I've never seen India so united for a cause ever in my life. So that is something incredible. And yeah, Canada had announced about $82 billion package earlier, and considering it has about 38 million people here, so I mean Everybody got a large, large lump share. So it was indiscriminately given to everybody. Whoever applied for the package got it. We got all got $2,000 in our account from the Canadian government, and that's in that's immense. That's huge. But India has 1.3 billion people population, and the economy is not that big as in as that of in Canada. So considering that, I mean, taking that factor into account, this is huge what India has done for its— basically, this is, I think this is for the laborers and the daily wage earners. So if this money actually gets into the pocket, you know what I mean? Not getting lost into the dreary desert sand of dead habits, quoting Tagore. So this money should not get lost into the dreary desert sand of dead habits. It should reach the pockets of the right people. If it reaches the pockets of the right people, all those daily wage earners, the farmers, the auto rickshaw drivers, all those people, they will be greatly benefited and India will become a huge— I mean, there will be a huge economic boom once this gets into place and there is going to be a huge self-reliance boom. Only this money has to be channelized rightly in the right direction, not put into each and every account like Canada did, because Canadian people were, I guess, responsible because we didn't never got to spend that much money over the lockdown period of lockdown. But, um, Indian people need to be more responsible and keep the money and strategize strategically, build, uh, invest it in building the economy now that so much money has been pumped into the system. So this strategic thing is very important, and channelizing of the fund is very important. And to make India self-reliant, everything should be made in India. And in fact, India should be able to import. And let's take down China. I'm sorry to say this, but at least ban Chinese goods. That should be the thing, because China has been taking advantage of its of this situation for a very long time. I'm not talking about China government. Anyway, I don't care if any Chinese government sees my video because I don't think YouTube is even available in the country. But in spite of that, if they— if what the Chinese government is— Chinese people are doing were giving us products which are cheap and durable to some extent. So if we can make that kind of products and give to the market, to the Policy, not the best principle. Mind you, it is not a principle. This I had learned long time back when I was freelancing and I was working at a at a showroom as a at a light showroom. So the owner of the showroom told me this. It was about thirty years back. So he told me that honesty is the best policy. It's not the best principle. So you are actually adopting a policy. So honesty is finally the best policy. If you're honest to the core, it takes you a long, long distance. And being in Canada, I have realized, even though I was— I considered myself to be quite honest back home, being in Canada, I learned honesty all over again. Believe me, this country makes you feel like a dishonest person when you come here. I mean, You are you have to learn honesty all over again here. So I am as I am very proud about India's achievements so far, but there still needs to be a lot more done. And I think through my video I might be able to tell you one thing. Once I if if I go to India when when I go to land India, we have this reverse culture shock. That is simple things like standing in a line, standing in a queue, and not pushing and not shoving people, not giving others the chance to go forward, opening the door for somebody. Like, I opened the door for somebody and the person walked in and I said, excuse me, am I the doorman? Couldn't you say thank you for me? And that's kind of thing, small, small things you get, you know, you get shocked. Here, if you open the door, they will say thank you and they'll say, you please go. These are very small, small things, gentlemanlike things. These These make a country much more, you know, stronger from within. If you are willing to let the other person go in front of you, it makes you stronger from within. Then there was another time, you know, I just remember in a sweet shop when I was buying sweets for my brother, and I was standing in the line at a distance, you know, from the counter. So I was waiting for my chance, and here what happens, you know, they will The moment the person is done, they'll ask you, yes, ma'am, what can we do for you? And I was waiting for that. I forgot I was in India. And suddenly I saw people were coming from this side and this side, and they were purchasing their things and going away. And I was standing at a reasonable distance from the counter, and I wasn't even given a chance. So I said, oh God, I have to— this is India, rush and barge in. So why do you have to do that? Yeah, okay. We have full of people, but nobody is taking your things away. Nobody will. You are a beautiful country. You are a wonderful country. Just realize your potency. Just realize that giving somebody else an edge to do something or giving the person okay, भाई साहब आप पहले लीजिए करने से nobody is losing out on the chance. Okay, so give everybody the chance. And you know, putting, taking somebody forward or giving somebody the respect will only get you back the respect and honesty. There's really nothing to lose, only to gain. So take this chance, my friends, this huge chance that you've got, and rebuild the nation. That's what I want to see because I am now traveling in India and Canada, six months there, three months. 4 months there, 3 months here. So this year I couldn't go, obviously, so far, but I'm planning to go in December and hopefully to see some of you, meet somebody, some of you, uh, in person. If you really want to talk with me, we can meet up somewhere or, you know, call video call or something. And there are— okay, so Uh, yeah, I'll talk about, uh, um, the cost factors in of living in Canada, uh, in my next video. This one is just to congratulate you and just to tell you guys, just take up this opportunity and build the nation. Like, whoever is watching, just pass it down to all the people you know and be honest, be truthful, be— push others forward. Don't push yourself. Somebody— you will go. पैसों के पीछे मत भागो पैसे अपने आप तुम्हारे पीछे भागें कामयाबी के पीछे भागो like that's the three idiots quote I'm quoting कामयाबी के पीछे भागो honesty के पीछे भागो and पैसा अपने आप आ जाएगा and पैसा is not going to stay लक्ष्मी is running always लक्ष्मी is चंचल बोलते हैं ना so भी मिंगोली भी से लोकी चंचल लोकी never stays पैसा आते जाते हैं but your This is going to stay. This is going to. This should not go away. India should not collapse again. Go back to that stage where I had to leave India. Please don't go back to that stage. I would love to come back and see. In fact, these days, the other day, last year, yeah, I went. I went to India. I saw people were much more calmer. They were not fighting on the road so much as much as I saw. Like people were always, yeah, they were always knowing each other. So that was not there. They were much more. Politeness among people. So I thought, I think that you know, like the government can fill in the souls of people, fill in the stomachs of the people who are at the bottom rung. If their their needs are satisfied, then everybody everybody gets satisfied in the in the long run. Like if your if your Kamwali bhai is happy. About whatever she's getting, then you become happy. She's working nicely. She's being polite. You are being polite. So this goes from bottom up. So naturally, everything is related. It's a law. Everything is related. So I guess once you know you start getting happier, you have a considerable you know you can you have a government you can trust in times of times of crisis like this. And I'm not supporting BJP government or anything. I'm I'm just saying this government does a good job. Whichever government does good job, I support that government. What whichever government is doing for the people, really standing up for their needs like this, this way, I really support that kind of government. That's it. There is no BJP, Trinamool Congress for me, nothing. Nobody makes a difference. As long as you can serve when you're there on the chair, that's all it matters. If you can be with the people. Yes, Modi government has been with the people in times of crisis like this. That this much I can say. Other times I don't want to get into. Other times we will talk about it later in other videos. So yeah, when you if you've seen this video, please take a step to become a more honest person tomorrow and even more honest person day after tomorrow and tell your people, come on, भाई, छुपाने का क्या है? Be honest. Once if you start lying, there's no end to this. Be honest. Grab this opportunity to make India a much more stronger place. This is the opportunity, and India has the strength in them. Only thing is that you don't realize it. India has the strength to become the biggest superpower in the world. Let's do it. Okay, जय हिंद.
