Covid Times: How We Dined Inside The Car!

This content was created by Kaberi Dutta Chatterjee. This content was uploaded by Kaberi Dutta Chatterjee. This is a YouTube vlog titled "Covid Times: How We Dined Inside The Car!" (published June 14, 2020). It is a casual first-person vlog/monologue by a single speaker (the vlogger, who is accompanied by Ronnie) filmed inside their car while eating takeout from Punjabi by Nature in Brampton during the COVID pandemic. The speaker narrates the improvised car-dining setup (using a wobbly Amazon tray), describes the food (veg thali, jeera rice, paneer/butter paneer, gobi ka paratha, dal, roti, gulab jamun), comments on homeopathy being available and their preference for it, and recommends the restaurant. The tone is informal and descriptive rather than a diarized multi-person conversation.

How are you doing? Welcome to my vlog, and here's Kabiri calling from Canada, and I hope you guys are doing well despite the COVID trying to beat us out, beat us all. So we are right now inside our car. We've come to eat out, but obviously nobody there's no seating. So we are trying. We have we are eating from here. This is. Punjabi by Nature restaurant. This is a very nice Punjabi restaurant. You can see the outside. There's a dental clinic somewhere and somebody's come in. Okay, so you can see everything and we are presently inside our car and we've got food from the Punjabi by nature, and generally we are eating from here in the car. There's Ronnie. Say hi. He doesn't know yet how to speak to a camera. So we have this food. This is veg thali. So I've got this nice thing from Amazon which, which can hold Supposedly whole, but it's very wobbly. And I've got a veg thali, so I'll take it out slowly. Just hope doesn't nothing spills. I think something will spill. Let me just keep it hanging. And this is rice. I have a spoon. Where did it go? Oh shit! It's fallen on my. I think it's going to drip on my pants. So we have a spoon. It's very uncomfortable sitting and eating like this. I'll have to just move the car seat a bit. Hold the camera like this. Let me see if I can pull it. Oh, it's gone to the end. Okay, so Roni is holding the camera again. And, um, yeah, so I'm eating from this place. This place is quite good, and they have this, uh, let me show you what I'm eating. They have this rice which is jeera rice. They have paneer, butter paneer, and they have gulab jamun. Don't swear on the camera. This is very uncomfortable, very inconvenient, but this is all we can manage right now. We don't have a table. So that is gobi ka paratha. You see, this is very soft and very delicate and lovely parathas. Which I think I'll have it a little on the heat. It is very tasty. So he's having the gobi ka paratha, and I'm gonna just snip a little bit from him. And take it with this. This is aloo gobi masala. And he can't open this. What's happening? You can't open this. Be careful it doesn't spill. No fryer. We're doing pretty well considering we are in the car. Anything can spill and fall. Quite hungry also. It's four o'clock almost, and here's a gulab jamun. Although all those, but it's dunked in dal. I think a little bit of dal. So I think I'll I'll skip the gulab jamun. It's not going to be very tasty. Dal tastes good. I'll just add a little dal with the rice. I also have roti. This is rice with a little bit of onions. I don't like, you know, onions, so I'll just skip this. In fact, I'm not supposed to have onions because I am taking homeopathy medicines. Oh yes, and you do get homeopathy medicines here in Canada too, so That's one, one thing I'd like to tell you, that homeopathy medicines are available here, here a lot. And I have not been taking, um, allopathy medicine for a very wide— for a while now. I've been only taking homeopathy, and it has done wonders for my lot of, lot of ailments. In fact, it has done a lot of good for my husband's ailments too. Ronnie's ailments too. Okay, I also have roti. You know, this is just like an Indian joint where you just sit and have food. I'll have the roti from here. Only thing is that we're having— we've turned our car into a restaurant. That's the most interesting part. And we are having the food inside the car. We have the AC on, so it's like an AC restaurant. We are having our food. Only thing is that if you can manage the inconvenience of this whole thing a little bit, I mean, you just have to adjust a little bit. So it's a very nice way, uh, we are trying to Beat COVID. Hmm. The bun directa. I'll have one whole gobi ka paratha. This is nice. I love this. I think I first have this, and then I see whether I want to have rice or not. Gobi ka paratha, dahi. Oh God! My thing is going to fall on me. And little bit of paneer malai. It tastes awesome. The gobi ka paratha here is mind-blowing. You can just have it without anything. Basically, look, he's sneaking off my potato curry. And this is, um, I'm having gobi ka paratha with the gobi. This gobi also tastes very light and very tasty and fluffy and tasty. I always like the food over here. It's not oily at all, as you can see. And there are different gravies, like this color of this— I'll show it in the sunlight— the color of the malai paneer and the color of the dal makhani, totally different. They're not the same curry. That just fell. Now, I'm going to be totally full with the gobi ka prathi. This is more than one person can eat. They'll come. Hmm. Somebody over there. Okay, so finish my meal in peace. Meanwhile, you guys can check this out. Punjabi by Nature in Brampton is pretty good, and they're giving takeaway. You can sit and eat in the car if you want and turn your car into an easy restaurant. But be careful, do not spill on yourselves. And this Amazon thing This also comes quite handy. This is wobbly, but yeah, at least you can keep some dry stuff on this. Have a good day till I see you next in my next video. Bye-bye.
