Immigrants leaving Canada in hordes last 2 years | Reverse Immigration

In this vlog‑style commentary, the host warns prospective immigrants that the rosy image of Canada is fading. The video first revisits the traditional attractions—better opportunities, high living standards, free universal healthcare, free K‑12 education, and a passport that grants visa‑free travel. It then presents recent data showing a sharp rise in the number of immigrants departing Canada (42,000 in the first half of 2023, adding to 93,818 in 2022 and 85,997 in 2021) and cites reports that the out‑migration rate hit a two‑decade high in 2018. The host attributes the reverse migration to several inter‑related pressures: (1) sky‑high housing costs that dwarf comparable U.S. prices, (2) prolonged, gray winters that erode mental health, (3) a publicly funded health system plagued by long wait times and a refusal to recognize foreign medical credentials, (4) mounting student debt despite subsidised tuition, and (5) a scarcity of quality jobs for graduates, prompting many to seek opportunities in the United States or return home. Throughout, the speaker mixes statistical references (Reuters, Business Standard, Statistics Canada) with personal anecdotes and a call for viewers to share the warning, promising future interviews with return migrants.

Hey guys, welcome to my channel and thanks for tuning in so much. And you know what? I want to really thank every one of you. Video and talking about why you shouldn't retire at 40. So this video is something which I wanted to do later. I mean, this just came up. This is a very news video, so it suddenly come up. And though I was planning to do a video on how to combat the winter in Canada, which is becoming too much of a stress for us, but I'm postponing that video for next week. This is more important and urgent, you know. So apparently this terrible winter is not the reason why I'm doing this video today. I had done a video earlier in 2017, I think, where I ranted about the reasons why immigrants are now leaving Canada. Well, I wasn't really wrong, you know. Take a look at what I— Hi everybody, I am making this video after a long time, and yeah, I think a lot of people are still generally writing to me a lot that they want to immigrate and they want to come here. But there are a few things I would like to alert you before coming here because I think you need to know everything. You should not come here with rose-tinted glasses. So this dream of making it big in Canada is turning into a battle for survival here. I'm sure a lot of a lot of you have already applied for immigration, already applied for student visa. You are planning on a big life here, right? But I'm so sorry to disappoint you. There there are a number of reasons why immigrants are now leaving Canada. Primary reason now why people are leaving Canada is because because of its extremely, extremely high-priced housing cost. It's going up every day. So Reuters have taken out the news yesterday, Mint has taken out the news yesterday, Business Standard, all the Indian newspapers have taken out the news. The Canadian newspapers have not yet, news agencies have not yet caught on to the news. Because I guess they are still waiting for more proof. But here is the proof. The reversal trend is gradually taking hold. In the first 6 months of 2023, some 42,000 individuals departed Canada, adding to 93,818 people who left in 2022 and 85,997 in 2021. That's the official data. The rate of immigrants leaving Canada hit a 2-decade high in 2018, according to a recent report from the Institute of Canadian Citizenship, an immigration advocacy group. Of course, while the numbers went down during pandemic lockdowns, Statistics Canada data shows it is once again rising. There are various reasons to why immigrants are now leaving Canada. Why people came to Canada? Let's first analyze those reasons. Okay, number one, they thought Canada had better opportunities. Number two, better living standards of living for normal common people. The standard of living is very high, which if you want, if you are living in India or any other country, it takes years for you to achieve that kind of living standard. Number three is free healthcare over here. It's actually free. The healthcare, hospitalization is everything is free, even doctor visits. And number four is free education for children. Now, number five also is because Canada and Canada being a Canadian, once you have a Canadian passport or passport, you get a lot of access to a lot of countries without any visa. Except for India, of course. India doesn't— you have to get a visa for India. So these are the reasons. Now let's analyze each reason. Better opportunities. When you come to Canada for better opportunities, Canada is a country which is way behind a lot of other nations, like developing nations, nations like China and India. It is still catching up. The graph, the development graph is like this. It's going like this, whereas Indian graph is going up like this. China, the graph is going up like this. So the development over here is very—it's it's reached a certain level, which India, of course, India and China China are not being able to reach to that kind of a development level of development. But definitely they are coming up fast, very fast. So that is where. China, the growth of Canada, the GDP is very low compared to India or China, you know that. So that's the reason why if you come to Canada, the opportunities as such are not very high. If you come with a job, you are posted in Canada, you are exposed to an international work ambience, And you get to live— there's certain good things about that which I'll explain later. But you do not really get a very good opportunity like you get in the States. Like maybe the salary is way higher than in India, but that's about it. So maybe you have to sacrifice your position, maybe you have to compromise on your position a little bit to come to Canada, right? That's about it. Now, once you— uh, second reason is better living. Definitely here the living standard of living is very high, very good, and most importantly, you get the respect for being and being just a human being. You get the respect for being an individual, which you do not get anywhere in the world. You have to have some kind of a Tag attached along with like she's she's this or he's a doctor, he's a multimillionaire, he's an actor, and that kind of tag gets you into the society. But here everybody is treated equal. It's real sense socialist country in Canada. That is something I just love about this country. You come here, you become a completely a nobody. You completely leave behind everything, all the tags that you had, and you just become a human being. A part of the crowd, and then you prove yourself and you are appreciated and respected. That is very important in this country. Number 3 is free medical healthcare. Definitely it has free healthcare, but you know what? The wait time is so high for every— even the most urgent of things, most biggest emergencies, the wait time is so high. That you'd rather go back to India or go back to another country and get yourself treated and come back. Most of us, we since we do not want to wait, we've resorted to homeopathy and alternative medicines and alternative cure like Ayurveda. I do a lot of Ayurveda and yoga, so that keeps me healthy. I don't need to go to the doctor. I don't need to be hospitalized because all this home care and healthy living, you know, keeps you healthy. Okay, so you at least, you know that you don't have to be rushed to the hospital unless there's a terrible emergency. Sometimes emergencies always happen. And then there is free education. That is true until grade 12. Your children get free education, the best of education. I would say the best of environment. My son studied in a school and he says that it's not the best of education. I haven't studied in a school here, so I won't be able to tell you that, but the environment is fantastic. Like every free school that you see over here, you can see, let's take a look at this one or this one. There are massive grounds and massive, uh, like opportunities, huge playgrounds. And now to talk about the reasons why people are leaving Canada. So number one over there is housing. So written down the points. Like I said, I do not follow any scripts, so I might forget in the middle. So I'm just reading down the points. Number 1 is housing. The housing over here is becoming a terrible scenario. The prices of houses are unbelievably high. I don't know why. The same house, the same thing in America costs 1/10 of what it costs in Canada. Like here, a 2-bedroom apartment will cost you something around to the tune of $600,000 to $700,000, $500,000 to $600,000, okay, to buy it. And in America, in $500,000 and $600,000, you can get a huge bungalow, which is why people in America go there immediately. You will see them buying huge bungalows. Because a huge bungalow, a huge house costs you below $500,000 over there, which means a monthly payment of say $2,000, $700, or maximum $3,000 EMI which you're paying. But yeah, it depends on the interest also, and the interest in America is also very down, very low. So here Canada, it's such a good place to live. It's much better than USA, I think. But look at the housing. Like, you immigrants do not get a good rent over here once they come here. They cannot get a good rent below $3,000. So, and people who have bought houses recently— there's a friend of mine who's moved into a house and she's saying she's playing around, paying around $160 a month for her heating and electricity. So it's— this is crazy. The housing and the housing costs over here are really crazy. You cannot imagine the kind of cost that's going on and the kind of market. The housing market is collapsing, completely collapsing, which is the reason Canadians are selling off their house with whatever they're getting, even at the lowest of price. They're all distressed selling over here and they're going back to their countries wherever they belong. Number 2 is, of course, the winter. The terrible winter, the terrible winter, which I'm going to make another vlog with. I have already made the vlog, I have to edit it and upload it. It's terrible. It's like the— it's gray. It's completely gray. It's not white snow. I don't know whether it's because of the global warming. But there is no white snow anymore. It's just gray. It's not sunlight, sunshine. It's not white snow. I mean, either extreme would have been fine. I'm okay with the cold. It's very cold. It's not even cold, that cold. It's like 2 degrees, 3 degrees, and it's just gray for months. Like December, January, February, March. It's just gray. There's no sun. Can you imagine living in such depression? It's like living in hell. It's deplorable conditions. If you, if you're looking up in the sky, I mean, if you have all the lights on and everything, then it's fine. And I have actually talked— I'm going to be talking about how to combat this depression and what are the methods you can adapt to, you know, live through, to go sail through this winter. And this— the day is short, as short as 7 hours sunlight, maybe. It's like the sun rises at 8:30 AM. It rises and it sets at 4:30 PM. So it's like 6 hours of daylight. That's it. And the entire daylight is not even daylight, it's like twilight. So it's very, very terrible to live in that kind of conditions. It's very bad for the mental health. Number three is again medical. The reason you come here is for medical, and the reason you're going back is for medical again because you realize that free medical comes with a cost, with a very big cost of waiting. So if you have a terrible, like a few days back, a friend of friend of mine, she had this shut-eye condition where she could not open her eyes. And she was just talking like this. Some kind of a neurological disorder, maybe. And imagine she had to wait for a to see a doctor for three weeks, even though it was an urgent and emergency situation. So that kind of waiting period why? Why is there so much waiting period? Because there's lack of doctors and nurses. Now why there is lack of doctors and nurses and so many nurses and Doctors are immigrating like like crazy, like in hordes. Why are there still so much lack of doctors and nurses? Because Canadian government do not recognize other countries' certificates that their doctors or nurses. I mean, the human body is the same. We Canadians do not have a different human body, right? So if somebody studied human body in another country, they'd be able to treat. whatever happens to somebody over here. The blood color is not green here. So it's very strange that doctors have to pass, sit and pass exams after exams after exams. Meanwhile, they are frustrated, they're driving Uber, and then they're going back home because they do not get their degree that is over here. And people, the rest of the people are suffering. I mean, this is just crazy. This is just crazy. Canadian government, please wake up. Okay, so the fourth point is OSA debts. You know, the children they study till grade twelve, and then you get into a university and you are given grants and debts and tuition fees. Okay, so the tuition the grants are okay. Grants are given to you, but the tuition fees for those who are studying here or Still high. It's not low. Those who come here as international students is three times for those who are residents of Canada or citizens of Canada. I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about those who live here, who are residents of Canada, who are citizens of Canada. Canada, they get tuition money. They get they do not have to spend anything from their pocket. But there's a catch. The whole thing is mounting as a debt. So every child leaves the university or studies with minimum of $50,000 debt and maximum of— if you go into any kind of specialization studies or doing PhD, a maximum of $500,000 in debt. They, they have sold their lives to Canadian government. They've sold their lives because they have to. And the worst part is Opportunities after university. After university, after you pass out from the best of universities, there are no job opportunities. It's still the same. You have to still interact and network. You still have to keep on sending your resumes to the agencies, and you have to keep on following up and keep on doing voluntary work. What's the point of studying in a good university if you do not get a good job? And of course there are no jobs, which is why people are going back. There are really no jobs. People are going to USA actually because USA has better job opportunities than India, than Canada. So though Canada, the living standards, like the quality of living is much better in Canada, people are still going back to USA, going back to their own countries, and they're leaving Canada in droves. So thank you guys for watching this. Podcast. I hope you liked it, and do subscribe to my channel.
