Hello everybody, how are you doing right now? Are the— is the electricity back in your, uh, in your area as yet? Uh, we are really worried from here in Canada, but we cannot do anything. Neither I— I'm traveling in January. I finally have been able to get the tickets for January, so I'll be there for 4 months in January. Um, I cannot travel this year as I planned. But I just don't know what else to do. I've sent a lot of donations, but what? I don't know what else to do to help you. I just I'm just posting videos in case you guys get to watch this, you know, because there is a particular warning of another severe storm coming up next week. So please understand that this is not going to be that that terrible. This is this is just a normal kalbushaki, which Kolkatans are quite used to it. I've been used to it. For 42 years, I was used to it for a very long, long time. So now things that you know, like this storm is not going to be so severe. So don't worry about it. Don't panic. Just be just be careful as careful as you are. But I'm just worried that by the time the current and the power, electricity and everything comes back, you guys will be again down with more severe storms. So. So this is going to be a long time before— maybe entire month of May and part of June it will take to recover from this terrible situation. But everything passes, and this too shall pass. So just hang on, and please be brave and not, uh, you know, like, be patient. That's all I can say. Be patient and just work as much as you can on your own to build things up, not wait for the authorities to come to reach out to you. Please do. You are quite Capable of handling things on your own, calling the right kind of guys to you know just do it yourselves as much as possible. So this is a warning I'm giving you. Like this is not a warning, but a strong warning I'm telling you because things because I have not seen it anywhere on any news channel so far or any other place. But I I know I being a journalist I've been I came across this news so I'm sharing it with you. Okay, I don't know how many of you are watching this YouTube or whether I can be of any help to you, but I'm trying to be as helpful as possible from so far, trying to pass on as much information as possible. So please subscribe and ring the notification bell if you want, you know, to be notified more, because I am a journalist and I'm trying my hardest to do what I did in my prime time, in my heydays, reporting from the spot. Now that I'm in Canada, I cannot go to the spot and report, so I'm trying to report as much as possible through my YouTube videos, you know, reaching out to people through my YouTube videos. So this is, I think this is a, this is something which comes from me within. I cannot stop myself from reporting. So, um, yeah, and about Canada, this, uh, we are finally in our t-shirts outside. That much I can tell you. We are finally being able to step outside without a jacket. It's heavenly weather here. Um, I just hope, you know, this weather cheers you up. It's quite a pleasant weather today to go out, but yeah, we are planning to go out for the weekend just a little bit. Maybe, you know, just check out the spots whether we can get into any restaurants and parks or nearby places or any other places other than grocery stores, which we've been doing for the past 2 months to 3 months actually, from March, April, May. So 3 months we've been only doing grocery. We haven't gone out anywhere. Not that we really wanted to because it's very cold anyway. So now that, you know, the temperature is fine and we are in t-shirt and without a jacket and a hoodie covering the ear and gloves all the time, even to step out on the balcony we had to be fully covered. Now that period is gone. So from May end, so it means from May end you get to enjoy a nice weather. And, uh, but But mind you, from July it starts to get very hot. It's really so hot that you have to put on air conditioners. It almost reaches about 38 degrees temperature and it's at peak times, you know, you cannot step out on the balcony. It's like so hot, it's like the sun practically is burning onto you. The sun here, because there's no ultraviolet radiation, the sun practically burns onto you. The best time here is from May end to July beginning. Okay, May 15th, let's say May 15th, if we don't get another bout of rainfall or snowfall suddenly. At least, yeah, now this time frame is good. And then again from August end to October 15th, October 15th, 16th, that's the time when we start putting on our spring jackets back. And so that's the period, only period we can enjoy here in Canada. So Canada is really like, when you're planning to come here, you've been watching my videos since you've been planning to come here, so keep all this in mind. Though this is a beautiful place and it's so pretty, the nature is so pretty, but, and look at the green of the trees, it's like fresh new green leaves have sprouted. But they're all going to fall off in September, these trees. You know, this place will be totally snow, like so much snow on this place. And now you can't even like imagine this place could be completely white after a few months. But yes, this is the way life is over here. Like life over there is very tough with this kind of a breakdown that right now what you're going through. Life over here is also very tough. So it's not an easy life like you think it's a rosy picture here. No. It's not easy. It's another country, and when you come to another country, there are different rules, different— you're practically walking on your head. So you have to remember that. Different rules, different construction, different situations. So generally, yeah. And you've written all of— a lot of you have written to me a lot of emails. I will be responding to them as slowly. I'll be responding to all of you. And please write to me at the link below. I am not going to give you any advice on immigration because I'm not a qualified person, but I can tell you from my experience. We can talk about your situation and whether you want to, whether you need to immigrate, or whether you should immigrate. That much I can, I can give you. I can tell you from my experience here, living here 11 years now. And being a journalist in India, having left my fantastic job— I was the chief sub-editor of Hindustan Times— I left my fantastic job and how I could not find jobs here. So it is— and then I had to start my own business. So it is a life, but I didn't leave. I didn't leave for India. I am a citizen here. I took up citizenship. I am also a citizen of India. Like OCI. So, um, generally I am now making use of both the best of both worlds. So, and that thing I think I've earned over the period, and it is by myself alone. I didn't come with my, like, so-called, you know, married to my NRI husband and come here. No, I came here on my own with my son who was just 13 years old at that time. So yeah, my husband came later, but Ronnie came later, but it was me who made this, who did the struggle. So it isn't impossible for you to come, definitely. Neither it is, neither it is like impossible for you to stay here and live this life. This is a different life, different lifestyle, different, different kind of hardship. Different kind of things you have to encounter, different kind of freedom, different kind of comforts. In India, there are different other different kinds of comforts which we don't have here. Here, there are other kinds of comfort which you don't have in India. So, you have to choose. If you have to choose, I can help you make the decision. That much I can help you do it, and according to your custom, make my advice according to what you need. So write to me at the link at the email given below. And, uh, so take care of you guys, all of yourself. And please do not block roadways and make life even any more worse than what it already is. Do not depend on the authorities to come to you because they must be like overloaded. Look at the situation over there and see, yes, people are Abusing CSC. Look at the people, their workers may not have been able to reach the office. How can they? They are not to be blamed. Don't blame them. You know, like, do things on your own. Try to cooperate with the authorities. Please try to cooperate. The authorities are not against you, are not like thieves and stuff. They're not like that all the time. There are some exceptions. I know, I've been there for So many years I've left India, like only 10 years, 11 years back. But not all of them are like that. So please bear with them, please support them, and please do things on your own to help them. You know, when they come, do not abuse, hurl abuses at them. Do not, you know, kind of harass them. Please cooperate with them. That's all my video is aimed at, and I just hope I reach enough people I don't know how many people I'll reach, but I just hope I reach enough people for, you know, to— for you to at least come to your senses, to not harass the authorities. Okay, you take care and hope by tomorrow you will have your power back. See you by then. Bye-bye.
