This is a YouTube video titled "Life in Canada: Reclaimed wood coffee table-cum-book shelf" (posted June 2, 2017) featuring a single-speaker English monologue by Kaberi. She gives a home-tour style demonstration of a handmade reclaimed-wood coffee table that doubles as a bookshelf, describing its construction (stained by her son, piano-leg feet, Home Depot hinges), materials and decorative finds (books rescued from giveaways/dumps, shells and stones from walks, plants and a table mat from Walmart), the hidden personal storage inside, and closing with a promise of more videos from Canada.

Hi, this is Kaberi, and today I'm going to show you a little bit about my own small coffee table, which I'm very excited about. This is a handmade, handcrafted coffee table made from reclaimed wood, and this has been stained by my son and polished and sanded, obviously, because the ends were a little rough when we bought it. This was just very, very little price. It was just $160, and the guy who made it, he made it for his girlfriend who didn't like it, but I kind of like it. And I've added this— I've kind of attached these hinges which I bought from Home Depot for about $4 each, and they give the look of the trunk, heavy trunk-like feeling. And this part is movable, but I've stuck it at one point just to, you know, make it Because it was very inconvenient. What I like best about this coffee table is it serves as a bookshelf, because whatever I keep inside, I don't want people to see from outside. So I keep the books and it serves as a beautiful bookshelf, and it looks like a bookshelf from outside. And these books are, uh, surprisingly, some of the books I picked up from the dump we have over here. Some people dump books. There's been a lot of people who dump books and give away free books in this country. Why in this country? I think it's all over the world. A lot of people are just— they don't even want to read books anymore. So this is— this book is bought. This is Mistress by Anita Nair. This has been bought. And this book, Sidney Sheldon, this is— this is my favorite book In the world, and I've read it. I think there it comes off. You can see that I've read it. I think a hundred times. It's been there with me since I was in class eight. And okay, this is one photograph which just just popped off the book. So this book has been there with me since class eight, my class eight, my grade eight. And this is Agatha Christie at Bertram Hotel. And we have. I just bought a recently. I picked up this book, which was they were giving away free books. So Arthur Hill's Evening News is here. I have just started reading it. And we have— I have picked— I had picked up these books from the garbage dump, all these books. The Stephen King I bought in Brockville. Uh, okay, so this is my bookshelf cum, uh, coffee table. And these legs are actually sliced off from the piano, all these 4 legs that you see. Okay, the guy who made this He made a very interesting combination, which I kind of like. Okay, and this table, this table mat, and these plants are actually bought from Walmart. And these shells, I picked them up from this, from this on my evening walk. I just picked them up, and so are these stones, these rocks. I just picked them up and I brought them home when I'm walking down the street. And on the other side of this table are my personal stuff. Which nobody can see from outside. So once I get here, it's all my little notepads and small files. And that's my sponge which I use at night to wash off my face. And little socks over there. And just combs and stuff like that. Like, there's a rubber band and medicines. So this is just a very Very personal thing which nobody can see. So I can, you know, this part of the thing nobody comes here because that's the door and people walk in from there and they can see the outside. So this is a very cute coffee table which I am very interested. I think it's very interesting. And if you want, you might be able to like make one for yourself like this. Okay, okay. Have a good day. I'll post some more interesting videos from Canada very soon. Bye bye. Have a good day.
